So, interesting opportunity to learn something new! ;) What is wrong: buffering. At first I thought I have problems with Flash alone, but this isn't true. Any video [be it on Youtube or Twitch, Flash player or HTML5 player, doesn't matter] randomly will stop. I will see the buffer "icon" and... nothing happens. Ever. I can leave it for as long as I want, it will not budge. On Twitch.tv it's a bit different, it will pause the stream for a solid minute and then "restart" itself.

Cleared cache, session files, updated Flash, used Ccleaner as well. Don't want to go through creating a new profile yet (a bit of a hassle), trying to figure out what might be causing the issue. As I said, it's very random, sometimes happens in short video on Youtube, sometimes I can watch long videos without much problem. And no, my internet is not the issue, double checked on that.

Any ideas?

When I click on a link which is: osu://b/1006632

Firefox says:

The address wasn’t understood

Firefox doesn’t know how to open this address, because one of the following protocols (osu) isn’t associated with any program or is not allowed in this context.

You might need to install other software to open this address.

I have the program osu installed on my computer. How do I make the address in Firefox redirect to the osu program?

My wife's machine is running Windows 8.1, Firefox 34.0.5 and Adobe Acrobat X Standard. Cannot open .pdfs in the browser. Clicking a link to a .pdf will open a new tab that immediately closes, leaving me right back where I was, as if I had never clicked the link. I can right click, then Save As, download the file and open in Adobe Acrobat X. But that's not what I want, and not how it was designed.

Internet Explorer 11 opens .pdfs in the environment described above, in-browser, with no problems.

I've followed all the instructions at https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/972278 and http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/cant-view-pdf-web.html. Neither Mozilla's nor Adobe's instructions can get me up and running.

As a nuclear option, I uninstalled Adobe Acrobat, restarted the machine, uninstalled Firefox, restarted the machine, re-installed Adobe Acrobat, restarted the machine, and re-installed Firefox, and restarted the machine. Attempting to open any .pdf yields the same result, even after uninstalling and re-installing everything. What's going on here? Why does Firefox open a blank tab, and then close it right away? Block pop-ups is set to off, and antivirus pop-up blocking is disabled.

My own machine running Windows 7, Firefox 34.0.5, and Adobe Acrobat X Standard opens .pdfs in-browser just fine, with no problems.

Any advice? I'm pulling my hair out!! Thanks for your time.

I've gotten so used to the "Press Tab to Search" functionality of Chrome that it always seems like an additional step in Firefox to go to the actual website and begin searching from that page's search box.

For example, whether it's YouTube, Amazon, Wikipedia, or any other site with its own search function, all I have to do is start typing "yout," Chrome will automatically fill it out to youtube.com with an option to press Tab to automatically start searching youtube from the address bar. (See attached screenshots).

Is there any way to replicate this functionality in Firefox?

Thanks.

Firefox just updated to version 57, and I really don't like it. I want to downgrade to 56, but everywhere I look I have to completely uninstall firefox and then install the older version. That means I'm going to loose all my book marks, history, add ons, everything that I love about firefox. Please please tell me there's a way to downgrade without having to uninstall and loose everything.

I just upgraded from Windows XP to Windows 7. I reinstalled firefox, added the speeddial that I liked so much, and then tried to use firefox. I can't type the web address into the address bar when I start firefox. I always have to open a new tab before it'll let me do it. Also, I can't highlight and copy what's typed there - AND I can't "paste and go" anymore. Is that open gone?

When I first got on the Firefox browser a full page red screen came up with white letters, telling me I should call a certain number (I didn't write it down - didn't call either). On the main red page it said my passwords may be compromised and I should alert my bank accounts, etc., Other smaller alert boxes came up, but I don't remember what was in them. I eventually cancelled all those alert boxes and logged of. The next time I got on Firefox was fine. Does Firefox give out numbers to call in a case like this? Is my computer infected? Thank you/

I've used Tab Mix Plus (TMP) which is a great extension but this is not supported any more since Firefox 57. I think this was (hopefully still is) one of the best and most useful extensions on Firefox. None of the suggested replacement extensions seems to have what I'm looking for. I mainly used TMP for opening links in a new tab or opening bookmarks automatically in a new tab. I know you can open a new tab with Right mouse click and 'Open in a New Tab' but that's not what I'm looking for.My questions are: 1) Can you set Firefox to open all links with a LEFT mouse click by default without any add-on extensions? 2) Can you set Firefox to open all bookmarks with a LEFT mouse click by default without any add-on extensions? 3) If the answer is no to either or both questions from above, are there any add-on extensions out there that allow these features?

I saw another post about this, and someone linked an article in the comments, but it didn't actually tell me what it was. When I go to settings it says that my browser is being managed by my enterprise, and when I go to enterprise policies it lists "ImportEnterpriseRoots" as true. Is this just a part of Firefox, or should I be concerned? And if it is a part of Firefox what does it actually mean?

I am currently on version 55.0.3 and have had the offer of an update to 56. I accepted the update, installed and restarted FF only to find that all the bookmark foders are grey [not yellow] and a piece of 'unwanted' software [something to do with screenshots] had an icon in the top right-hand corner. I note that doing a search for this problem on this forum, that in a post by WorriedFred on 9.28.17 @ 7.20pm, a post has been marked 'chosen solution'??? There is no solution - if there is where is it??? OR perhaps this is a new default colour style Mozilla have decided to use with this update - how inconsiderate not to mention this if it is so. And to add on a bit of software without permission is a disgrace.

If there has been an official response/explanation for this problem/bug could somebody please point me to it - I have run out of perming 56-bookmarks-grey-all-update in the search Mozilla bar. For the moment I have done a system restore back to 55 - nice yellow forders.
