I like firefox and use it exclusively as Safari had issues with some websites. However, I exclusively use apple hardware, desktop and mobile. After much searching, I found a software app for syncing my firefox bookmarks with my iPhone that actually worked, but now Firefox is changing to a new sync protocol. I had to sign up for a new account and my and my old iPhone app is not going to work. Is there a reliable way to keep the bookmarks on my iPhone in sync with my desktop? If not, I may go back to Safari.

Hello. I have a problem I believe only a professional member of the Firefox community is able to resolve.

About a year ago I made the huge mistake in accidentally deleting my Firefox browser and thus all the files associated with it. It was a major loss for me because hundreds of bookmarks of sentimental value were wiped away. I immediately tried to salvage the deleted files using a 'drilling' software, and have been left with the Firefox profile with thousands of media inside of it. I now have folders separating each file type of the retrieved data (jar, zip, cfb, db3, h, itl, m, odt, prproj, textClipping, xib, xlsx, xml, xmp, ico, jpg, png, ps, psd, tiff, webp). I've been casually searching through it since the accident searching for anything resembling bookmark files, but with no luck. I hold out hope that somewhere in the 5GB mass I can find a ghost file of my bookmarks embedded somewhere.

Is it possible I will find the bookmarks somewhere? Does Firefox archive the bookmarks data in multiple spots in the profile folder? Is it possible I will find the bookmarks if I search hard enough?

I'm using a Mac, OS 10.7.5. Firefox has worked perfectly on it for years. Today it is just showing a blank screen with just the traffic light buttons in the top left corner. None of the dropdown menus work. he Safe Mode dialogue is also completely blank when I try that. I have tried reuploading Firefox and have deleted the prefs file. Nothing seems to work....

Ever since the update, most text on web pages I visit have capital A in boxes instead of the actual text. Images attached.

I tried Happy112's suggestion (on another thread) about changing the security something to 1 instead of 3 and it actually made it worse!

I've had to use a different browser since the upgrade, which is a bummer. Would like to use Firefox again.

I'm running on Mac 10.9.5

I hope some Firefox Guru has the answer.

Thanks much.

I installed Firefox 59.0.2 tonight, and was alerted that a Trojan Horse was installed with the crash installer app. ClamXav's Clam Sentry alerted me—and yes, the definitions are updated daily.

Link to installer: https://download-installer.cdn.mozilla.net/pub/firefox/releases/59.0.2/mac/en-GB/Firefox%2059.0.2.dmg

Is this a new false-positive? Clam Sentry alerted it as a LIVE virus, so it wouldn't allow me to quarantine it—delete only.

I deleted everything, but pulled this from Console:

My Widevine CDM Plug-in just crashed! I checked my Firefox settings and it looks like the Widevine plug-in just updated late last night, and is up to date. I fear the new update might be incompatible with my Firefox 78.10.Oesr / or my OSX 10.9.5 but I'm not sure. I'm not a mac savvy person but I'm always ready to learn. Any help would be appreciated!

Does anyone else have a problem like this since the last May 19 Update ? I use 1Password as my password manager and tried to use it to log into some sites, but continually get the message box - "Cannot Fill Item in Firefox. Firefox is connected but its code signature could not be verified. Filling and other features are disabled until this configuration issue is resolved." I notice there was an update to 53.0.3 (64bit) on 19 May and this is the first time I have used 1Password since this update. I confirm I am also up to date with 1Password, so they should work together. Any ideas or advice please ?

Some libraries used by Onepassword 3 have apparently been removed since Firefox 39.03 and the one password widget has gone, forcing people to abandon software that worked well and now have to find an alternative, or go back to a older version of Firefox and stop upgrading?

It would be very nice to have these libraries back or at least tell us what they are so we can put them back manually ourselves.

It is disappointing to keep upgrading ...as advised to then find your favourite software apps no longer work and your stuck. There is no reason for this not to be backwards compatible.

Onepassword 4 trial works but not well as I have to run it before starting the browser otherwise I get a missing app message. I don't really want to pay for another password manager that doesn't add great value to the previous one nor correct fundamental flaws in the methodology of filling out passwords.

I'd just like to clarify that the issue here isn't the pending signing requirements in Firefox. That particular issue affects even our newer extension for 1Password 4/5 on Mac and Windows and we will be addressing it there. While there is a warning in Firefox 40 about signing, unsigned extensions are still allowed to run. Firefox 41 will have a hidden preference to allow unsigned extensions and Firefox 42 will ban their use completely. The issue here is the removal of libraries that our old extension relied on. With the removal of the widget module from Firefox the extension is broken at the code level.

I don't know if its the latest update (65.0.1) that did this to me since I don't know when I last went to the page, but when I go to Add-Ons Manager now, all I see is a blank page (or rather rows of white tiles) rather than a list of my add-ons that I can click on to modify/remove etc.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

I have Firefox 43.0.4 running with Mac OS 10.11 and I often find that Firefox refuses to quit no matter what method I try (force quit, command + Q etc.). Ultimately this prevents me from shutting down my machine properly and I have to resort to using the power button.

None of the suggested actions have so far worked (i.e. refresh, reinstall, etc.).
