I've been noticing for the last month that after a few hours in a browser window, I'll suddenly have a pinned tab for some random website. Some for promotional things, others in languages I don't understand, etc. At first I downloaded a webpage blocker, blocked the ones that were pinned, and deleted the tabs. However, after a short while (an hour or two) they would appear again in pinned tabs only this time it would say website blocked.

I uninstalled and reinstalled firefox in hopes that would solve the issue, but it is still happening. I unpin the tabs and delete them immediately after I notice them, but they keep appearing. I really like using Firefox and use it often for work, but I'm concerned for my personal and work security. What should I do?

In macOS you can set up a global keyboard shortcut for the Move Window to Right Side of Screen command via System Settings > Keyboard > Keyboard Shortcuts.... In most apps that support the Move Window to... commands, this will simply move the window to the desired side of the screen when the key combo is pressed.

However, in Firefox the key combo will start the animation as normal but the window will then bounce back to its original location. It's only when the command is activated via a keyboard shortcut that it does the bounce back behavior, though; the command works as intended when activated from the Window menu in the menu bar or from Option + green button in the top left of the window.

The key combo I set up was Shift + Option + Command + Right Arrow, but I've also tried a couple of different key combos and they all did the same bounce back behavior. I've tried it on machines with different versions of macOS (Sonoma beta and Ventura) with the same result. The bounce back behavior also effects the Move Window to Left Side of Screen command.

I am told to disable pop-up blockers in order to have a payment verified. I do not know what pop-up blockers are, I do not know where they are. When I go to Settings and search for pop-up blockers, I am told "Sorry! There are no results in Settings for "pop-up blockers"; and instructed to visit Firefox Support. I have been sent on this circular quest three times now. Please help me.

Since the update before the most recent one, web pages of major sites are not loading properly in Firefox on Mac laptop. Cannot load Hulu, MSN News, Booking.com, but they work fine on Chrome. I've used Firefox since its inception and I hate using Chrome, but it looks like I am going to have to, as I cannot get any response or support from Firefox. Is there any hope at all or should I just get used to Chrome? This is my second post--I attached screen shots to the first one, but no response, so I'm thinking they have no fix.

I use outlook to merge my emails from several different providers. Due to a software update, I had to login and confirm the IMAP password of on particular email provider (web.de). Somehow this failed (both in outlook and directly at the web.de website via firefox), and I reset my password for this email. Firefox did not allow me to login directly into my mail on the web.de website, whereas I succeeded to do so in Safari. I updated the new password in outlook, all good. I turned off enhanced tracking protection, cleared all cookies and history, restarted the computer and still cannot login to web.de via firefox. Any ideas?

Hello,

On some websites Firefox is displaying strange text/characters. I've tried refreshing and troubleshooting, I've uninstalled and reinstalled, and the problem was fixed for about 24 hours, and now it's back. I have confirmed my language is sent to English.

Has anyone experienced this? And if so, how did you fix it?

I don't want to use another browser, but at this point it looks like I'm going to have to. Everything displays properly on Chrome.

Don't know how to remove it? See image attached below. Very grateful for help in removing this black section of screen. It may be some sort of advertising section?

Hello everyone! I use Firefox 102.12.0esr (64 bit) on my Macbook and I would like to download the names and phones of the chats I’ve joined on Whatsapp.

It can be done by hand and by taking screenshots (of course), but if there are dozens of contacts it is a problem. :(

On the net I've found that with a Chrome extension you can do it (I assume) easily, but -if possible- I'd like to avoid Chrome which I really don't like. ... but if there are no alternatives .... I’ll make a virtue of necessity!

So I ask if anyone knows and has already done this with Firefox. I specify that I haven't found anything suitable in the list of FF extensions (I use an almost "clean" FF, ie I only have three or four add-ons).

Off-thread comment Despite assuming that FF is still one of the most widespread and popular browsers - updates of even the most important extensions and add-ons always lag behind FF updates or even this items aren’t updated at all. I fear that this aspect will lead to a progressive shift from FF to Chrome and obviously this is a pity (even if I'm not a compulsive user of extensions!!). Don’t you agree? (Sorry for this complaint!)

Looking forward to your suggestions about my request. Thank you very much

I'm using Firefox on my Mac, and I'm really pleased with it so far, but I have a small issue on a specific website.

I can't share the website with you because it's behind the login details of my pension provider, sorry, but essentially the problem is with the hyperlinks to my monthly pension slips. When I click them, nothing happens, that I'm aware of, at least.

If I login to the same website using Safari (it's the only other browser installed), clicking on the link opens a preview of the PDF document on the open webpage (it doesn't open a new tab or window), but it's this that doesn't seem to be working in Firefox. However, if I click on the link and then the Download PDF link, the correct document downloads as expected, just no preview.

Is there a Firefox setting that could help with this, or is it more a compatibility issue in the website's design?

Thank you.
