Why is there not a simple means to take a link and pin it as a tile on my home page? I've expanded the number of rows displayed which as an odd history of my browsing, yet the latest links I've visited are not there - meaning the link to the location I would like to pin. Seriously, the entries in the rows (other than previously pinned links) is a hodgepodge. It might be useful if there was some evident logic to the items included. It is disappointing the number of times this question has been posed and the "answer" is to display more rows. Similarly disappointing - an old knowledge base article that says to click the 3 dot icon next to address bar for Firefox on android - would have been handy had such a control appeared in the latest version of Firefox I'm running on my Mac.

Hi! I recently made the switch from Chrome to Firefox and Im liking it aside from this one thing. When Im watching a video in full screen, moving the cursor to the top doesnt pop up Macs top bar (File, Edit, ..... battery, time).

This sounds like a banality but I mainly watch videos while getting ready, working etc, and I really need to see the time! Im used to always keeping the cursor at the top to see it. I searched around in settings and forums but didnt find any fix. The only solution seems to be to not use full screen which I think we can all agree just sucks in a major way.

Im using MacOS Monterey 12.3.1 and Firefox 102.0.1. Is there a way to fix this or nah? Any info much appreciated!

With the upgrade to Firefox 106 on Mac, Private browsing windows open with a dark theme by default. How do I enable the light theme for Private browsing windows?

I use Private browsing at work for website testing, and the dark themed tabs / UI are much harder to read and use than with a light theme.

My browser displays many websites, emails, etc. using a strange garbled font (see attached image for reference).

I already checked the preference setting for allowing websites to select their own fonts. The issue also persists in Troubleshooting mode. I have also used the "Inspect element" tool when this has occurred, also to no avail. I imagine at this point the only real solution is to delete and reinstall Firefox, but I'd love to hear if someone has another solution! Thanks!

Note that text in bold / italics often shows up just fine. I can also copy-paste any of this text and it displays correctly.

Help? I rebooted my machine and lost all my open tabs. any attempt to re-acquire them shows just the ones I have open now. It doesn't show any of the ones that were lost. Thanks Monica

I can't enable USB Devices on about:debugging setup page. I already installed ADB toolkit for MacOS, also I can see my device in ADB devices list: ``` ~% adb devices -l List of devices attached 013db356 device usb:336723968X product:OnePlus6T model:ONEPLUS_A6010 device:OnePlus6T transport_id:9 ```

On the device I've enabled "Remote debugging via USB". But when I click on "Enable USB Devices" button, nothing happens. I can see only "Updating..." message, then "Disabled" again.

Also no devices in the devices list, because USB Devices are disabled. "Refresh devices" does not make any changes.

How do I turn off web translation permanently for ALL pages in Firefox 118.0.1?? It´s the most annoying feature so far from Firefox. Even if I delete all languages in preferences, it shows up on every page I visit.

Is there a way to permanently disable red underlining from Firefox spell check? This has only started occurring since an update to Firefox 110 (now on 112), but there seems to be no way to make it go away. I've unchecked the spelling box in preferences, and killed off things in about:config:

extensions.spellcheck.inline.max-misspellings 0 layout.spellcheckDefault 0 services.sync.prefs.sync.layout.spellcheckDefault false services.sync.prefs.sync.spellchecker.dictionary false

I'm using Mac Monterey, and have the global spell check turned off for that. This seems to be a problem specific to Firefox, as it doesn't happen in Chrome (spellcheck off) or Safari. I'd like to remove this entirely, since it's distracting to have it second guessing me whenever I'm typing. The main reason I use Firefox is that it gives me the ability to control many things, particularly in combination with UBlock, but I'm unable to make any progress in removing this persistent work disruption.

I am having an issue where youtube videos played at higher quality stutter when put to fullscreen. Up till about 720p60 works fine, at 1080p60 and above the framerate becomes unstable.

Things I have tried: - I have tried going into media.media-capabilities.enabled and changing it from false to true - I have set network.buffer.cache.size to 262144 - I have disabled all my plugins - I have tried changing my user agent to windows/chrome

My current setup: Firefox 122.0, Macbook pro Sonoma 14.1, Apple M1 Pro chip

Curiously, if I make a new firefox profile and play a video there, there is no stutter. Does anyone have ideas on how I can fix my current profile?

I have tried disabling add-ons/ exensions, disabling auto-fill, downgrading security, reinstalling (even the ESR edition), deleting Firefox files from the library/application_support - but it doesn't simply work. Not sure if this is an OS issue.

Hello, I am a user on Mac! I am having an issue with moving tabs fluidly. Yes, moving tabs inside the window is easy but when I move them outside the window, it makes me a little uncomfortable. In the images and video I have sent, you can see that an unnecessary thumbnail of the tab pops up even when I move the tabs inside the window. This makes it harder to know if I am even moving the tab in the first place. Then it takes like 2-5 seconds for the new window of the individual tab I moved to appear. If whatever I said is quite confusing which I apologize for, I would very much recommend taking a look at Google Chrome, the browser I don't prefer, however, try moving the tabs around and outside one window and creating more windows with individual tabs. It feels more fluid or swift and easy to handle. Compare that to Firefox and a big difference is to be seen. I am concerned about this issue really because I am replacing my previous browsers, not only Google Chrome but browsers like Edge too which are capable of not having that issue, with Firefox instead and hopefully Firefox can have this capability. I also multitask a lot so I usually encounter this problem on Firefox. I hope this is fixed and am sure it will help a lot of users! Thank you! Clicking on the spacebar, does not produce a space between words, when typing text. I'm using a Mac Mini M1, on macOS Monterey (V 12.4), along with a Logitech MX Keys for Mac keyboard.

This happens randomly, for instance, on this very message. I previously posted a question regarding another problem that I came across with the same hardware and Firefox.

I found the solution to that problem by disabling an Extension in Firefox, however, I can't begin to think where to look for what setting, that may be causing my current problem.

Every time I go to Fox News, the video at the top of the page drops to the lower right-hand corner. It's an annoyance I've been searching for a way to eliminate. I have pop-ups blocked in preferences and I have a couple of different pop-up blockers, but nothing seems to work. I'm currently using Firefox 114b.09 on a Mac Desktop.

I always use private browsing so I thought that my history was totally not being saved, but discovered recently that when I started to type within the search field, that many of my past searches were listed in the search field with the type highlighted in purple. I had to manually go in and delete all of these past searches. I don't want any search history to be saved. Is there a setting in preferences that I'm somehow missing? Why is Firefox saving these past searches if I have it set to Always Use Private Browsing?

When I click on a "mailto" link, Firefox (my default browser) opens a new tab, then immediately close that tab without waiting for my to interact with it. No draft email is created. I see that other users have reported this behavior in the past, and I've tried the suggested remedies without success. Specifically, I ran Malwarebytes, and it found no threats. I then started Firefox (on the Mac) via the Option key (to start it without ad-ons), and that does not change the behavior. I'm on ver 99.0.1 of FF, which is up to date as of 4/20/2022 (today). My Mac OS is also up to date (ver 12.3.1). My Mac is a 2021 MacBookPro with the Apple M1 Pro chip. I use gmail. OTHER BROWSER (like Safari and Chrome) can open "mailto" links in a new tab in FF (which is my default browser, and used for mailto links) just fine! 52.9.0esr is claimed to be the last version for XP. Unfortunately it is not quite true. It is for XP SP2 ONLY. Trying to install on SP3 ends with the message that SP2 is required. IMO the installer is simply too strict on demanding exact version of SP ! https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/52.9.0/system-requirements/

I went through the list of versions (thanks Mozilla that they all are still available!) and found that the last version I can install is... version... 12.0b6. https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/12.0/system-requirements/

And indeed I installed 12.0b6 successfully but I would like to install 52.9.

I have installed Z-Scaler proxy root CA certificate in Firefox for enabling SSL inspection. It works fine for most websites, but for google.com and a few others I get every day a certificate invalid/not trusted error and I have to restart Firefox to get the error to go away. Any ideas of what I can do to improve this behaviour? Any configuration I missed?

It's very similar issue to https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1199797, except that when I restart Firefox it works.
