Is there a way for me to opt out of any new "AI" functionality/features that would otherwise be enabled by default? Like the tab suggestions and perplexity in search. Having AI shoved down my throat from every corner of the internet is kind of frustrating.

To sign into Chatgbt I used my google account. Mozilla asks me "do I want to store info in persistent storage?" I click "learn more" about persistent storage. It takes me to a page that has zero mention of the words "persistent storage". That is a huge UX error. It says to me that really, you don't want me to know about persistent storage, and prefer that I remain confused and feel forced to agree to things I may not really want to, because you're making it difficult to understand what's actually involved. Not cool. Definitely now considering changing my browser after over 20 years.

Hi folks -

I've just seen the update that firefox now allows "profiles" for different purposes (e.g. work, fun, etc.) which seems really handy. But I'm trying to wrap my head around how to approach restructuring my current setup. In particular, do these profiles *all* sync with my mozilla account? Or do I need a separate mozilla account for each profile? (if so, that sort of defeats some of the utlity here unless you're sharing the PC).

I can't tell from the support article, doesn't seem to address this, but you do need to login again if you set up a new profile.

Here is what the message says: "Firefox is trying to install a new helper tool. Enter your password to allow this" I tried to install but Firefox won't open. Firefox icon just bounces around, I have to force quit to stop it. I DO NOT WANT THIS TOOL BUT I WANT TO USE FIREFOX. By the way this is sent from my other user, as the problem is on my admin. user and I can't open Firefox to do anything!

The AccuWeather part of the Firefox homepage says I'm in Portland, Oregon, USA, but I'm not even in the same country. I tried to change it according to the directions I found earlier, but the only drop-down for my city was another city in the US but none in any other countries. So now I can't change my location. How do I change my location? It wasn't like this yesterday and I have no memory as to how it became "Portland, Oregon" since last night. I don't even have a VPN so it isn't that. How do I change it back to my area without using my exact location?

I am on a newer desktop iMac. I only use Firefox. Google is my default. And yet.. Nowhere on my right click contextual menu is there a "Google Lens" option! According to the article on the Firefox home page, just having Google as your default search engine will give you that option on the right click menu. It does not exist, as you can see in the attached screenshot. If I am missing a step, I'd love to know what it is.

2 issues, first it asks me for my password over and over again until I am so angry I could scream! First my password but then oh surprise the password is wrong so I reset it and it asks for my recovery key so I go look for my recovery key and find it and copy then enter it and thats wrong. Then I look and I am fucking signed in any way! WHAT THE HELL! GOOGLE you make so much money and your destroying the planet with your tech so why can't you figure out this stupid shit already...COME ON!! 2nd, WHY ARE MY DOWNLOADS NOT GOING ONTO MY DOWNLOADS FOLDER! I am not a tech idiot!!! BTW I am an advanced user so if I am having a hard time it's because your software is garbage!!! Seriously I just need my downloads to download...That should be so easy!!! Same as password management...It should not be hard for you of all company's the least you could do for your users are these simple and small things! And is what I read true, that you have volunteers working on this thread? Of course a multi-bazillion dollar company would be using volunteers to do the work...Who needs money but google right? My bookmarks have all disappeared, and while I have tried to follow the instructions on the help page to restore them, nothing is working as it has been indicated that it should in the help instructions. I do still have my Bookmarks tab on my tool bar. When I click on it I get a pull down menu, which does have a Manage BookMarks bar. However it is not at the bottom of my pull down menu, but at the top. When I click on the Manage BookMarks bar, instead of getting an Import and Backup Button, my pull down menu disappears, so I can not select Restore to use to get dated backups.

In the same way, I can not create new Bookmarks. When I click on Bookmark Current Tab, instead of getting the white box to enter instructions, the pull down menu disappears, just as it does when I click on Manage Bookmarks. I have never had this problem with Firefox before in all the years I have used it. I have no idea what has happened.

I love Firefox and generally really appreciate the way y'all operate as a company and developer.

However, I really don't like this new function to add tabs to a group. Since it rolled out, I'm always adding tabs into groups when I don't mean to. Really, it's creating a group almost every time I move a tab around. If I delete the group, it's just more clicks and distractions to deal with.

In the past, when you've rolled out new features like this, you've also made it very easy to turn off any new feature we don't like. But I can't figure out how to turn this off. Is it possible?

my desktop has changed i used to have buttons to access frequently used sites appear when i open firefox and now i don't, what happened and how do i get that back, in addition all my booklmarks have disapeared how can i get it back
