How to disable Command+D to "Bookmark This Page" in Mac?

I'm running Mojave 10.14.6 on a MacMini (late 2018) with 64 GB 2667 MHz DDR4 and Firefox v86.0 64-bit.

I need to disable Command+D that's currently used to "Bookmark This Page".

I need Command+D for another use.

I've searched about:config for "bookmark" and get a lot of hits, but I can't tell which one controls the setting for Command+D.

Or . . . am I barking up the wrong tree?

I want to disable Command+D.

Leaving the ability to mouse up and click Bookmarks > "Bookmark This Page" is ok.

I just need to disable the keyboard shortcut Command+D for "Bookmark This Page".

Anyone got a "howto" for this?

Thanks!

My Mac: macOS Monterey 12.5.1 Firefox: 105.0.1 Since I updated my system Firefox has trouble loading and closing some pages, especially my BOA and ATT.net email accounts. Any thoughts on why this is happening and what to do about it? It's especially concerning with the sites I go to to pay bills.

ATT.net I can sign in OK but then I get a page that says redirecting and it never loads. When I use Chrome, I'm not having a problem. All my bookmarks are set in Firefox so I'd rather not have to change them all over to Chrome. I can sign into my BOA account with no problem. When I sign out of BOA I get a window with a spinning dial that says signing out please wait but it never stops, leaving me wondering if it's exposed.

Thanks, Marnie McNamara

Firefox is wreaking havoc with my 2018 MacBook Air. It seems to have been invaded by gremlins that are eating RAM and slowing down the works, sometimes causing my laptop to shut down.

I want to delete Firefox and reinstall, but first I want to save all of my cookies and other settings. (I've already downloaded my bookmarks.)

How do I save my cookies and other settings?

thanks very much. Sandy

I'd love to have Firefox release version and Firefox beta installed side-by-side on my Mac. Is it possible? If not, how do I make it so without encountering weird problems? If any from Firefox's dev team are reading this, please just make this possible. Chrome and Edge do it. Firefox should, too, IMO. Thank you.

I frequently try to save pages as PDFs. When I print the page directly to a printer, no problem. When I save the PDF, it's usually munged and not a valid PDF file (very small or 0 bytes). Example URL: https://www.nytimes.com/2019/07/01/science/bacteria-microbes-electricity.html

Makes an empty PDF while when I do Print and then Save as PDF. I'm on Apple OS 10.13, using Firefox 67.0.4. This problem has been with us for a while (> 1 year I believe) and happens on all my machines.

OK, I'm not a techie, so forgive my lack of accurate vernacular here, but I was a happy-go-lucky Mozilla supporter and user on all my Apple devices up until recently. I have no idea if there's a causal relationship here, but the serendipity seems to be something worth mentioning.

I signed up for the Mozilla VPN offering in October of 2022. I did not work well enough, and again, I'm a novice at such things, but I stopped using it within a week. Around the end of December, the Firefox browser has had serious problems where it would constantly crash on just about every page, sometimes multiple times. After a few days of that, I trashed the version I had and downloaded and installed the newest version just last weekend (01 JAN 2023). That lasted a few days, but now, all of a sudden, it will not open at all. I click the icon, it bobs twice, then nothing happens. The right-click "open" feature did likewise. I trashed that too and I am unwillingly to try again until I hear some feedback on this from subject-matter experts, if possible.

With my phone and iPad things are working just fine, so it must be my 5-year-old iMac that has been updated to version 12.6.2 just yesterday. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. I was using Ghostery and every other security feature I could find with Firefox, but in this age of Surveillance Capitalism, who knows what works anymore.

Thanks in advance, and wishing you all well in every way, sincerely.

Updates--Mozilla says I'm up to date but my bank says I'm not

My bank says I need to update my MacBook Air browser to version 107, but the computer says I have version 102.5.0esr (last updated in November of 2022) and says it is up to date. I've checked the automatic updates box in my settings.

So do I manually update to version 107? Is 107 available for MacBook air? (I only ask because I have a 12-year old iMac that IS running version 107)

Thanks in advance for your help. I want to make sure I haven't missed something I was supposed to do.

Hi all, I have an Adobe account and regularly use Adobe e-sign to send out contracts. I have recently updated Firefox and since then, when I try and send out PDFs for e-sign via Adobe Acrobat Reader, it doesn't get past the upload of the document stage. When I do it on the web browser, I can log in to my account fine, but as soon as I try and view the PDF I want to send for signature, it tells me that:

'The cookie functionality is disabled on your browser

Adobe Acrobat Sign has detected that the cookie functionality is disabled on your browser. To use Adobe Acrobat Sign, please enable cookies on your browser.

When cookies are enabled, click the 'Continue' button below to proceed to Adobe Acrobat Sign. Instructions for enabling cookies Safari for iOS Safari for Mac Chrome for phone or tablet Chrome for desktop OS Firefox

   Click on the Firefox menu.
   Select Preferences.
Select the Privacy & Security panel.
   Select Standard to enable cookies.
Set Accept third-party cookies to Always to enable third-party cookies.'

I have followed all the above but it doesn't make any difference. I have also turned off Enhanced Tracking Protection for that site and it worked once, but then stopped working again.

I'm on a MacBook Pro.

Thanks so much for any help!

Lately, far too many websites I try to open, simply won't! Sometimes it's via links from my home page, sometimes it's links within various websites, like a newspaper, or social media, just whatever, no rhyme nor reason, nor consistency. Even when I manually input the url, nothing happens, the browser just sits there, nothing happens. I've restarted, I've refreshed websites, clicked on "open in new tab/window", nothing gets it to work.

Starting a few weeks ago, firefox would not load any accounts via https://login.microsoftonline.com/ one one of my Macs.

I was running the latest version 121.xx on MAC 12.7.2

Nothing would fix the site issue, so I tried re-installing and refreshing Firefox. Followed all the troubleshooting steps.

Now firefox is completely broken. Tried creating a new profile. Running in safe mode, etc.

It sometimes will load pages, but extremely slow. But generally is unusable.

Firefox works on my other macs just fine (Profile uses sync with those machines)

Safari and Chrome work perfectly fine. No malware. No ISP issues. No firewall.

Please advise a fix or I guess I will delete everything firefox related.

I received an email suggesting that I update my Firefox or I would lose syncing function. I have two computers. A fairly new iMac Ventura 13.6.8 running Firefox 123.0 64 bit which it says is up to date. But I also have an older iMac OSX 10.11.6 El Capiten running Firefox 78.15.0 ESR. I can't update the OS or Firefox on the old computer. So if I do nothing - will I still be able to sync on the newer Mac. I'm not too worried about the old one - I don't use it much for browsing - more for documents. Thank you. David Rimell

I am in the process of moving all of our passwords into 1Password. However, I discovered that my wife has her Firefox set to auto login, but can't remember her user name and password. So, although she can use it, she can't change update the password. The fact that on setup, auto login is the default makes this doubly frustrating. So, is there any way to get to the password?
