The server at 192.168.1.1 is taking too long to respond.

The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.
If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer’s network connection.
If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the web.

How do I change the time out to a longer time?

I use Yahoo as my homepage and access it through Mozilla. Normally it loads in mere seconds. Last night and today it is taking extremely long to load and in some cases it has timed out. When it does load, all the pictures and other features are not included and either don't load or load much later.

I tried to load Yahoo from MIcrosoft Edge and it loaded perfectly. I am assuming there is an issue with Mozilla?

Thanks for looking into this matter and letting me know.

OS: Windows 10 Pro 64-bit with all the latest Windows updates installed; running Windows version 23H2. Firefox release I'm having problems with: 137.0.2.

Just upgraded to release/version 137.0.2. The first time I open Firefox each day it takes about 2 to 3 minutes for ANY website to load. Sometimes when a web page does eventually load none of the images display.

I have tried same websites using Google Chrome AND Microsoft Edge. Websites don't have problems loading using either of those 2 browsers unless I have Firefox open in another window. If they load slowly, as soon as I close Firefox, web page load quickly in Chrome or Msoft Edge.

Not a RAM problem because I typically have around 20% of my RAM being used.

Did not have any of these problems using Firefox version 137.0.1.

UPDATE: Thought maybe it was one of my add-on/extensions so I checked for updates. Four needed updating. Made the updates and website still no loading properly.

Hello, recently I have done in-place upgrade of windows 10 to 11. From that time loading of some pages in Firefox was very slow. For example www.google.com was loaded for about 90seconds. But next loading of the same page before Firefox restart was fast. So I had suspicion to Dns. But when I disabled DoH (Dns over HTTPs) nothing changed. What helped was to set the problematic page to DoH exceptions. So seems, that disabling of DoH is not really disabling, minimally on Windows 11. For sure during troubleshooting I tried it with disabled extensions, new profile, ... But nothing worked. Is there any other way how to disable DoH completely in Firefox? Setting network.trr.mode checked and was set to 5, which should be disabling.

I'm working onoptimizing a web application optimizing a web application and noticing some performance lags (e.g., slow page load and laggy interactions) specifically in Firefox.

I’ve used Chrome DevTools for performance profiling before, but I’m not as familiar with Firefox’s tools. I see there's a Performance tab, but I’m not sure how to interpret the flame chart, event markers, or how to pinpoint what's causing the slowness.

Can someone guide me through the process of debugging performance issues debugging performance issues in Firefox Developer Tools? Specifically:

How to profile JavaScript execution?

How to identify slow rendering or layout shifts?

Any tips for using the memory and network panels effectively?

I’m using Firefox version XX.X on [OS], and this is a React-based app.

Any tips, resources, or walkthroughs would be appreciated!

Hello! I am working on a brand new computer (i7 14700F, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Super, 32GB DDR5) with a brand new install of Firefox and sometimes it just won't load certain pages without me stopping it, refreshing, and then (most of the time) it all pops in. Browsing the web works perfectly in Edge, but in Firefox it has been a struggle. Some sites, like Discord, load VERY slowly and most of the time I need to force a refresh via shift and hitting refresh. Discord will take so long to load any image that I see it as a colorful blur before the photo fully loads in for view.

I'm running the most recent version of Windows 11, Firefox v137.0.1 (also had this issue with v137).

I have tried things in Troubleshoot Mode and didn't make a difference. I uninstalled Firefox, removed the %APPDATA%\Mozilla\ folder, and reinstalled but no change. What I haven't tried is Refresh Firefox, but that's because since Troubleshoot Mode didn't make a difference it's a bit hard to imagine Refresh Firefox will -- but if people think it's worth trying I certainly will give it a go!

I've been a FF user for as long as I can remember and I really don't want to give it up so hopefully someone can help me figure out what's going on here because I am currently at a loss and it's a big bummer.

Thanks in advance for the help!

Hi all! Happy Firefox user for over 20 years here. Recently I've had to switch to Chrome for one of my use cases, Google Cloud Monitoring dashboards. They're evidently JS- and data-heavy, and they're often unusably slow in Firefox. I often see delays of 10s or seconds when clicking any button or link, rendering data, or doing anything else. They also seem to get slower the longer their tab is open in the browser. They're way more usable in Chrome; maybe not perfect, but drastically better.

Any thoughts?

I've used about:performance to take a profile on https://profiler.firefox.com/, and uploaded it to share.firefox.dev , and I know it claims to sanitize personal info, but I'm still a bit leery of posting the link publicly. Happy to share it with a Mozilla employee if that would help.

I'm running some devices with windows 10 and 11. All have same most current version of Firefox installed. There is no issue on Win10. With any Win 11 device, some pages as google.com take about 60s until they start loading. Once started the behavior disappears until restart of the browser (even tab gets closed). I'm using classic DNS (no DoH).

Here I've uploaded the profile: https://share.firefox.dev/4coxRg4

On Network it say's "DNS request 6ms", "after DNS request 60000ms".

With wireshark I can see different kind of DNS request on Win10 A and AAA gets request, on Win11 HTTPS gets request - no idea if that makes the difference as there in no delay in the response anyway.

Any idea how to troubleshoot this?

When browsing on Youtube it takes a long time to load and display videos. Firefox seems to be searching for a long time before finally displaying videos. I've noticed that advertisements aren't displaying before videos anymore. Sometimes when video does finally play it isn't starting at the beginning, cutting out part of the video.

I've tried clearing caches, and history.

Am not being hyperbole but I swear to God I love Firefox more than anything. Okay, let's get to the main topic. I have a problem with Firefox on my pc, whenever I open Firefox one of my CPU thread is dying and its causes brutally lags. I know I have a potato rig but at least fix this browser as smooth as before. After I having a problem with dying threads whenever I open a tab and going to a website I desire it took so long isgt. I thought my pc was the problem one and I think "Ah I should upgrade my pc, but I still in debt" and it turns out the Firefox was the main problem.

Please Firefox fix this for me, don't suffer me more. I'm migrating to Chrome for a while cuz the Chrome didn't kill my CPU thread (I tested it for almost 2 weeks).

I attached you images from time to time, hope you could understand it! ;)

Certain webpages (which load without problem in Opera) will fully load and then immediately become blank as if it never loaded. If I hit "reload" the same thing happens, it loads and then goes blank. This is only certain webpages but here is one for example:

Again, this is not a problem in Opera. But Firefox has been my main browser for many years now, and I'd rather not switch if I don't have to.

When loading webpages, it will often take 60-90 seconds to load the page. I've only seen this happen when loading the page for the first time, once it loads navigating through subpages is seamless. It doesn't seem to be tied to any particular domain, I've had it happen randomly on gaming websites, tech websites, even google searches. The most notable coincidence is that in the networking tab of the developer console, it always(?) takes almost exactly 30 seconds on DNS resolution, 30 seconds on Connecting, sometimes a 30s Blocking element, and then the remainder is near instantaneous; screenshot attached. My network is fine, I'm able to play low-latency games without issue, and Chrome is not exhibiting the same behaviour.

Things I've tried to resolve:

  • Restarting computer -- issue has been persisting for months
  • Created a new Firefox profile -- still showing the same behaviour
  • Disabling all addons/testing Troubleshoot Mode
  • Proxy settings in Firefox -- No Proxy and System proxy settings are both showing the behaviour
  • Disabling DNS over HTTPS

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
