Hello,

After a few days I noticed that the option "open with" on the downloads dialog is always grayed out (see the attached picture).

If I go on the settings and tell the browser to not ask and open directly the file, it opens without any problem... (actually it shows an advertisement saying it is an executable file, but when I dismiss it, it opens)

Using 148 on Debian trixie I do not see the option for "refresh browser"?

Why it disappeared? It was always there. I am logged in Pocket and tried to restart Firefox. Maybe it has to something do with recently added AI side panel? It seems that since then my Pocket icon is missing. Browser version: 140.0.2 (64-bit) OS: Linux Mint MATE 21.3 (Virginia) Kernel: 5.15.0-143-generic

So, There's this website called pw.live and I use it for study purposes. And I've recently switched to linux and installed firefox. But that website loads but any videos or live streams don't. Even though it works perfectly fine on Windows version of firefox.

I tried to search about this and it may be because the content is DRM protected. I'm just speculating though it may be broken for some very different reason. I also looked into solutions to fix DRM related issues. And found some solutions but the plugin Widevine Content Decryption Module provided by Google Inc. just doesn't exist in the plugins tab. There is only "OpenH264 Video Codec" there. And I think that might be the problem.

I use Firefox 132.0.1 under Fedora 14 Linux. Whenever I click an urls in another application (e.g. Libreoffice, Keepass...) a new tab is opened in Firefox (according to Firefox's settings), but Firefox itself does not pop up in the foreground, it remains in the background. I highly appreciate the setting 'open links in tabs instead of new windows'. But FF only comes to foreground in case I deactivate 'open links in tabs instead of new windows'. How can I prevent FF to stay in the background in case 'open links in tabs instead of new windows' is enabled?

I have Firefox as my default browser on my mini PC running CachyOS (linux). It's been acting strange lately and doesn't pop up with email links like it used to and when I went to settings I noticed the "being manged by my organization" notice at the top of the settings page. I don't recall seeing that before and since I'm old and retired and this is a personal PC with software that I installed myself I don't know what this message is referring to? Is this a normal Firefox thing or what?

What has happened to the "More actions" menu button - the one that normally is in the upper left corner of windows (see the attached image)?

I have just installed a new PC, with Debian 12 and KDE (plasma 5.27.5); the other windows have this menu button, but not Firefox and Thunderbird. Is there a way to get it back, eg by moving the menu bar out of the title bar and back to where it used to be?

For the past few months, the browser will no longer download any files. The only diagnostic that I can see is failed when the download is attempted. I have refreshed firefox and the problem remains. Chrome can download without any problems, but I used firefox for many years and wish to continue.

The latest version of Firefox (115) always launches at fullscreen size in linux. I rarely use any application at full screensize because I like to have other windows open on the desktop at the same time. Virtual desktops are not always convenient. I have tried using the -geometry option at the command line, which is usual honoured by applications running under X11, but this is ignored. Nor can I grab the bottom right-hand corner and drag it diagonally to resize it dynamically. Maybe there is a setting somewhere for initial size?

I am running Lubuntu 22.04LTS (have been for months now), with Firefox 130.0.1 installed via the normal vanilla apt.

It was working fine until a few days ago (perhaps after an update, but I can't recall specifically), and then just stopped being able to save anything.

For example, right clicking on an image will bring up "Save As..." as an option, but when I choose that, nothing happens. No prompt to save, nor does the file appear anywhere.

When I choose "Save" as a pulldown on cloud XLSX files...similarly, nothing happens.

When I download something, Firefox is supposed to open up a prompt asking me where I want to save the file but that never opens...nor does the file download.

I am totally baffled.

I was using the weather, clock and image of the day widgets. Yesterday they were on my start and now they are missing. When I look under settings and home, widgets are not listed. How can I get them back?

The Mozilla VPN seems to have a hard time with the wired connection (or rather the opposite). As soon as the VPN is on, the connection stops working. The VPN do not recognize the wired connection, either.

There doesn't seem to be a mention of Ethernet connection anywhere in the FAQs.

Question: is the Mozilla VPN compatible with a wired connection?

je veux tout supprimer, que Firefox redemarre comme s'il n'avait jamais etait utiliser sur l'ordinateur. mot de passe, add-on, cookies, historique, ... plus rien !

actuellement, mon compte est deconnecte, mes adresse emails apparaissent dans les champs de connexion. si les donnees sont supprimees ou qu'il ny a [pas de compte connecte, il ne doit pas y avoir de proposition de remplissage de champs !

I know it may sound a bit strange, but I would like to know WHY an extension is not allowed in a private window, so I might understand the reason why I'm not able to diagnose an issue I'm having with fucking amazon who has their cart all over the place for a misconfiguration in firefox that either I did or an extension is causing, however I'm unable to figure out which because I can't enable extensions in private windows, where the issue does not happen, so I'm not able to reproduce and isolate the problem.
