I'm a mac user. A few days ago, I got a message on Firefox stating that a new update wasn't able to download automatically, and it advised me to download the latest version of the app instead. I attempted to do this from the Mozilla site, but the file would never download no matter how long I waited; it would get all the way to the end and just spin endlessly without completing the download. I thought I might be having some issue with Firefox in general, so I attempted to uninstall and reinstall the app; I uninstalled it but then found myself still unable to download the app to reinstall it even while using other browsers like Chrome or Safari. I've tried repeatedly to download the app while connected to different wi-fi networks, networks which I've known to be stable. I've been able to download other files without an issue (although none I've tried are as large). I even tried to complete the download using a proxy site, but was still unsuccessful. Is there anything else I can try? Thank you!

Second post trying to figure out what is going on.

I'm getting the notification that I need to update Firefox, so I click the "download" button which takes me to "https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/?reason=manual-update", I select the "Download Firefox" button and after a few seconds I get a "Secure Connection Failed" message.

Usually I can just open Chrome and download the Firefox installer but today I'm getting an error stating that "download.mozilla.org" is using certificates from a different website.

Is the download site busted, or is this just a me issue?

My firefox automatically updated on January 14th. Since the update, it opens with the tool bar above/off the screen, the left side off the screen, and it doesn't allow me to scroll. If I go the the firefox icon at the bottom of the screen and click close window, I can sometimes get it to re-open normally and then leave it open for the balance of the day. I am running windows 11. My wife and I are have the same issue right after the update. Is there a fix on the way or a setting I can change to fix this.

Not as important but I want to get away from all things google. Right now my firefox is tied to a gmail account. To be void of google, do I need to completely take firefox off my computer and re-install with a new email account or can I transfer the account to a new email?

Appreciate your time Thanks so much for your help.

I am a senior citizen and trying my best to keep up with techno stuff. I have used FF for a long time with no problems. I am a keen Amateur photographer. I have started doing on line courses with the school of Photography, and some of the tutorial videos are very pixelated and UN-viewable. I have also just started subscribing to Adobe Light room and its the same there videos very pixelated. I contacted Dell as my laptop is only a few weeks old so they did remote assist and installed new drivers etc, then sent a follow up email in case all was not well. They suggested I contacted Adobe, so this i did and they did remote assist they also saw what i saw then the person s aid all is OK there end, so whilst doing remote the person installed Chrome on my laptop and the videos open perfectly. also within Firefox I hav started having the same issue with u tube videos, so can someone help me please is there a what is it ah yes extension. Whilst writing this something has come to mind i have always looked at u tube before with FF so is it this new laptop? hope someone can help please as no way i want Chrome but if i can not view LR videos in FF I will have no choice. Many thanks.

I want to update Firefox but also version Firefox-134 causes the same problem as all previous versions newer than Firefox-95: GUI is not started in my Linux system despite all the requirements noted on the Mozilla pages with the release are satisfied. Basing on that I have read and experimented as well as on response to my bug report, https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1938497 I suppose that the new versions of Firefox are not able to start GUI using libGL backend GLX and they require LibGL backend EGL only. This requires libEGL version and other associated libraries that are present only in newest versions of Linux distributions like Fedora-41. These new versions are for new hardware and it is pointless to install them on older hardware because they would work probably ineffectively and cause problems. Linux is very customizable and users introduce adjustments and install software created by themselves, for years. That is why an update to radically new version of the Linux distribution is justified after buying a new computer. This would be required for making the Firefox-134 binary provided to run with GUI as well as for possible compiling it from source.

That is why I would like to ask for consideretion of submitting Firefox-134 binary statically linked (at least the libraries that are required for GUI) so that it will work with GUI on older Linux systems obeying the requirements noted on mozilla pages with Firefox releases, assuming 4-8 GB RAM is available.
