I have had the DivX HiQ & DivX Plus Web Player extensions for years. I don't remember how they even got there, but some time ago I noticed that they are no longer compatible but there is not way to remove them. In trying to remove another extension/add on I noticed these are still determinedly there. I have tried all the steps in the support articles. They either point to folders I don't have or files that aren't there. I even tried uninstalling firefox completely but despite thinking I had deleted all the so-called personal information, those extensions (ALL OF THEM) are still there. The extensions must be located somewhere that doesn't get deleted easily. How do I delete extensions?

who had applied to a dating website but was waiting for approval and not yet a member. When I asked him how he got my personal email account which was NOT on there, he said that his "detector" told him. When asked for details this was his reply...

"I don't know how it works but my mozilla fire fox gave me an email address which was the same as your username of the site, So I think it just added the (my email provider) to your username that what I had and decided to message you."

Since Mozilla (I found this out when it was so difficult to find that contact us, was NO contact and found it difficult to find how to post a question and register) a basically self service site how did he do this? Is there a way one can delete the information from Firefox. I have a google chrome book and thus have not used Mozilla for years.

I am probably posting this on the wrong place in the forum from the trouble shooting answers i'm getting but don't know where else to post this.

I am the Windows admin for a university department and install PCs with Firefox all the time. This problem does not happen with every PC I maintain, only a select few (different model laptops with Windows 8.1 and update 1.) Until today, it only happened with new user accounts (with admin rights) that I setup on the laptops for our staff. Today this happened with The Administrator account while setting up a new laptop. In all cases so far, I install Windows from a saved image that was created using sysprep.

I have tried the many suggestions of resetting Firefox, deleting the users Firefox profile, deleting the users Windows profile, uninstalling/reinstalling Firefox, uninstalling/reinstalling Firefox and the latest Java, but nothing helps. After uninstalling, I run an app to delete temp files and caches and will even manually remove registry keys HKLM\SOFTWARE\Mozilla and HKCU\SOFTWARE\Mozilla. Plus I reboot and make sure the install folder is deleted after uninstall.

Results are the same: after installing Firefox 31, the initial setup window for migrating IE and/or Chrome pops up and after clicking the Finish button, Firefox starts, but does not show the initial new user page, only a blank page. Clicking on the Options button (3 bars) does nothing. Right-clicking in the proper area, the popup menu appears so I can choose to Customize, but that only opens another tab with about:customize in the URL and the page is blank. From the right-click popup menu, I can enable the Menu Bar and get to Options from that.

My latest attempt has helped a little. I uninstalled Firefox 31, cleaned up, deleted user Firefox profile, rebooted and then installed Firefox 30. Inital startup runs, and tells me I'm not up to date, and the Options button works. But I still cannot customize.

I then upgraded to Firefox 31, but then it's back to no startup page, no options button and no customize. I can downgrade to 30 and get all but customize working again.

Only Addon is one for McAfee Scriptscan for Firefox 15.1.0, which just after installing is disabled.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Each time I start firefox 31.0 on Win 7 it tries to download 2 setup.exe programs, unsuccessfully. When I next restart ffx it won't connect to the internet (all other programs/browsers will, however). I found that my anti-virus, Webroot,'s firewall is blocking it. I can turn that firewall off, restart ffx, and it will work again, even after I turn webroot's firewall back on. But once I restart ffx, same deal, can't connect. And I see the telescoping download arrow that it tried to download something--in the download list the two programs are there again: irfanviewersetup-9957237.exe and freefileviewersetup.exe. Is no one else having this occur (do I have a unique bug)? Why would firefox try to download these files in the background when I open it? (The homepage is set to https://www.google.com/ Please help!

I encountered a problem with some client machines that use Firefox version 24ESR and IE8. Ajax requests of aspx pages from Firefox are getting the following error from the iis server (iis version 7.5):

Bad Request - Request Too Long HTTP Error 400. The size of the request headers is too long.

From analyzing the request that was sent to the server, I saw that the request consist of only the viewstate of the aspx page. I tried to disable the viewstate for one page and the server got the request correctly.

I do not encounter any issues on these laptops with postback requests from Firefox or when running the same application with IE8.

When I'm on many different web sites and I store things either in my Wish List or in my Basket, I am only able to print 3 pages when what I'm printing is longer.

This is an issue with Mozilla because it does not happen thru IE. Nor is there only 3 pages that are printable.

I try using File/Print Preview ... all pages are visible, yet only 3 pages will print.

This has been a problem ever since I've used Mozilla ... I always apply updates ... I use Windows XP Pro.

Thank you.

Crashes repeat for long time using different versions of FF, on two similar computers type Dell D830 with slightly different hardware, both having windows 7 OS, though again different versions & installed by different persons.

There's a clear dependance on quantity of windows & tabs in FF regarding how soon/frequently crashes occur - the more load, the more likely is a crash.

Recently, still in FF ver31, crashes became more frequent (from about one to several hours in between to just several minutes) as a few more windows were added, then, after updating to ver32 expecting some improvement things got even worse - FF couldn't even fully start in normal mode (though crashes occurred at the very end of loading, when almost all windows were ready), so after some attempts I succeeded in starting FF in safe mode (holding "shift" is frequently missed so several attempts are needed) in which it still lasts for some time - again, depending on actual browsing activity - the more actions (tabs switching/re-loading), the more soon crash follows.

Notice about resources (amount of RAM used) I also have some old machines based on Intel 815 chipset running Windows 2000 which have inherent RAM limit of just 512MB (versus 3-4GB in Dells) - though these sometimes experience terrible lags with my browsing style (all RAM exhausted, page file used instead), but FF (of respectively older version) never crashes/-ed there on its own, so then I suspect that crashing on much never computers is related either to Windows 7 or to FF itself (critical to increasing ABSOLUTE amount of windows/tabs - btw, to make this aspect easier, I have "load tabs on demand" feature set in all cases).

Recent crash ID, together with a few previous ones: (see time intervals, usually 2-4 minutes is for normal mode, up to 10 minutes for safe mode)

I'm attempting to use the latest firefox (v32) on Debian/testing/64bit using the 64bit version of FF.. This machine is a laptop and is only used with wifi. The wifi that is generally used is either a Starbucks or McDonalds which requires a click on a webpage before the connection is enabled.. When I start FF to be able to click this checkbox, it does not start. a look at the ps -xua shows firefox as a defunct/zombie process.. The way I've been working around this, is to use Google Chrome to pull up the webpage, click the box, then almost immediately the FF instance I tried to start comes up.. If I clicked the FF icon more than once I get more than one FF window.. It appears FF needs an open pipe to the internet before it will start. I MUCH prefer FF over Chrome, but if I'm going to have to use Chrome to "kick-start" FF, I might as well remove FF and just use Chrome.. Any ideas??
