I am having these strange symbols instead of the correct fonts in some webpages as well as inside some e-mail text in gmail (when viewing from browser firefox, of course). Please see attached. I deselect the setting "allow webpage to choose their own webfonts...", it solves the problem but it cause to switch to default fonts in web design tools I use (wordpress, elementor). Any suggestion of how to solve this? Thanks

On FoxNews.com, some articles include a section at the bottom for user comments. First-level comments frequently receive additional second- and third-level comments.

First-level comments are working fine, but lower-level comments are partially obliterated with a string of black diamonds with question marks ?UN@?.

This is not an issue when I use Safari, but it is on Firefox.

When I visit https://online.kasikornbankgroup.com/K-Online/indexHome.jsp, and click the K-Cyber Banking tab, all I see is what is shown in attachment 1 - symbols and the View | Text encoding is greyed out. I am unable to see my accounts. This issue started with Firefox 83.0 and people on some other forums have reported the same issue.

The tab should look more like attachment 2.

Does anyone know what is causing this, whether it is a browser problem or bank problem, and if there is a fix for it?

It displays strange characters on pages including Yahoo mail. The attached screen shot shows a bank email, but it happens with other non-secure stuff too like general web pages. This has been happening with version 81.0 and the previous version. If I open the same page in Chrome, it will display the characters normally. I did see the strange characters appear in Chrome one time, but it happens in FF quite frequently.

After upgrading to Firefox 68.6.0esr, when we open a Japanese file with [File]->[Open], it becomes garbled and unreadable. Before upgrading, we could read the Japanese file. This file is a plain text file and the character code is ISO-2022-JP. The character code is not specified in the file. I tried to change the character code with Text Encoding menu of Firefox, but the menu is grayed out and we cannot select it. It seems that files with character codes UTF and EUC can be displayed without problems. Is there a way to correctly display a Japanese file in which no character code is specified?

Both Firefox and Chrome aren’t staying open for more than a few minutes. No matter what site I have open or however many tabs they crash. My other apps are working, my internet is stable as well as my hardware. I’ve already restarted the computer, uninstall and reinstalled Firefox, cleaned my temp folders, cleaned up my disk and cleared my browser history. When working on a site I noticed I'm seeing what looks like squiggly lines for the dates. The created date is - 3/31/2020 and the start date is - 4/2/2020. But for some reason its shows the way it does in the attached image. I also noticed that its not showing formatting for Portuguese. Everything seems fine in Chrome on the mac, and Firefox for Windows 10.

Seems like Firefox is leaving burmese people. I mean we have other browsers like chrome and safari but Firefox used to be the one and only application for us.

I wanted to use my webmail but noticed that my fonts over the entire page have changed. I tried to fix it with these tips and tried to zoom in/out but it didn't fix it. When I enabled the box that pages can use their own fonts than it was normal but then another page was wrong. It just moved the problem. I have no clue what I can do else?

this is what I've tried without succes https://support.mozilla.org/nl/kb/lettertypen-en-kleuren-die-websites-gebruiken-wijzigen?as=u&utm_source=inproduct

In Safari I have no issues just in Firefox. I tried to clean the cookies, restart Safari, restart computer, re-installed Firefox but still could not fix it. I tried add-ons for fonts en when I enable it, again it looks fine on this site but wrong on the other site.

I'm desperate...

After upgrade to 73.0 some fonts are not rendering or cascading to next font-family definition like other browsers.

On my cPanel login page, the body font-family definition is being overridden by an inline style

body { font-family: "Gotham SSm A", "Gotham SSm B", "Gotham", Arial; }.

"Gotham SSm A", "Gotham SSm B", and "Gotham" are not defined elsewhere inline or any linked style sheet. Every other browser on my Macbook (OSX Catalina) displays the page with the body font as Arial, skipping over the Gotham variants. Firefox seems to be trying to find them or is displaying boxed ? marks in place of missing glyphs. It is a nuisance really, I can just not use Firefox or defeat the inline override for login page because it does not occur on cPanel once logged in. But the glitch is there and I would like to know where it is coming from if possible. Gotham font is present and active on my Macbook as well, but not Gotham SSm A and B (ScreenSmart)...

Hello,

I have a trouble with font rendering on one specific website - https://www.checkpoint.com.

Text on this site looks quite ugly (see font01.png).

But if I open "Web Developer" -> "Inspector" -> "Fonts" -> "All fonts on page", then I can see the text renderred correctly in the preview field (see font02.png).

So text uses "DIN WXX Regular" font, but I do not understand, why Firefox cannot render it on the web page in the same manner as in the Developer tools?

Any clue how to fix it?

Browser: Firefox 68.2.0esr (64-bit) OS: Debian Bullseye

Thanks Zbynek
