When I scroll down to look at recent posts on Facebook groups I follow all but the top one has suddenly lost its date/time – I just get a blank where the details would usually be and have to hover over to reveal the details. The silly thing is that this only happens when I sign in and it doesn’t happen when I use chrome – although I prefer using Firefox, not least because the bookmarks sidebar is better. I have tried getting rid of all extensions and running in troubleshoot mode but without success. Any help/advice would be appreciated (as long as it is not about football!)

Our IT specialist at UW-Madison is stumped and suggested I reach out to Firefox. He was helping me troubleshoot why Firefox keeps saying it's sending a code to verify my account, but I never receive the code. He has added the "accounts" email to my contacts and I don't know what else to do or try. Any ideas from the community? I need my bookmarks after upgrading to Windows 11 and can't imagine trying to recreate them all.

I noticed today that a video hosted on the website Reddit has subtitles on it. When I view the video in other browsers it does not have subtitles. Why are subtitles being generated in Firefox for this video? Is there a way I can disable these subtitles? While often useful, the subtitles in this case just get in the way.

Had this issue in Firefox, uninstalled it from my Mac and downloaded a new copy, same issue persisted. Moved to Firefox Nightly, same issue. I'll be working on something and then my tab will crash, showing the Mozilla "your tab has crashed" window. Any new tabs I open will display this as well, automatically crashing. Sometimes restoring them works, sometimes it doesn't. This will also crash tabs in other windows, as well as new tabs opened there. I've tried completely removing both apps and reinstalling them, but the issue persists. I have a video but this forum doesn't seem to have video uploads--would be happy to email Mozilla support to get this looked at if that would be helpful. I loved this browser, I'd like a solution so that I don't have to find another one! Any help appreciated.

Additionally there seem to be two copies of the app operating simultaneously, they both appear in my dock at the same time? Image attached.

There was no such problem before, after the 117 update, the CSS theme I use is constantly reset and the browser returns to its default theme. The screen goes black for a moment and then the theme resets or the browser crashes. Is there anyone who has experienced the same problem? Any possible solutions?

For the past three days I have been disappointed to find the error message, illustrated in the screenshot, when I open Hotmail/Outlook/Login live. It says:

Something went wrong. Please try the recommended actions below. Refresh the application. (in a button)

I've followed its advice, to no effect. I've re-booted and turned everything off overnight (twice) but it's still not working. This only happens on Mozilla Firefox, my preferred browser. I have done nothing to alter any settings or opened, or even received, any dubious emails. All the other saved sites and randomly visited ones are functioning as normal.

Any idea why this suddenly started happening? is it a Firefox issue or a Hotmail problem?

When I go to certain web sites, (Xfinity, Blue Cross Blue Shield), a message pops up saying, "This page is slowing down Fire Fox. To speed up your browser, stop this page". When I go into Safe Mode, I can get to those sites. How can I get rid of this message/problem? Fire Fox has current update as does my Mac.

I get this error when trying to access my email using FireFox. Lately this (or a similar) error happens weekly if not every couple of days. Always first thing in the morning, too.

my email works just fine using Safari so I am at a loss.

I have tried running FF (Firefox) in safe mode, ensuring outlook.live.com is an exception to the pop up window blocker, changed default protections on outlook dot com to none from standard.... Turned off ABP, clearing cache and cookies from within FF.

it may be worth mentioning that I can still browse/access other websites while outlook produces this error, and my network settings within FF are set to use default system settings (no proxy).

Firefox is completely non-functioning. My home page won't load, animations don't work, downloads don't work, menu buttons don't work, and most pages display blank. I tried booting in safe mode to refresh, and restarted my computer, both to no avail.

Hi all, I'm having an issue that I've seen mentioned over several years and without a workable solution - I'm at the point of having to transfer all my browser usage to chrome and abandon my beloved firefox. The issue has been 'answered' by advanced users to tell people to 'inspect' which font is the issue then check local systems font book for corrupted/duplicate fonts: however this is not a satisfactory response. Context: see screen shot attached for what the jibberish looks like, and a point in the 'inspect' view that I believe (guessing) is involved. System: Firefox 112.0.2 (64-bit), MacOS 13.3.1 (a) (22E772610a) on Macbook Pro (13-inch, 2020, 2 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5). This same websites do not have any issue on the same computer viewed on Chrome or Safari. Nor is there any problem on my iPhone on the iOS firefox browser.

Firstly this is not a user-friendly solution for most people, I'm afraid. Opening the inspect viewer is mindboggling for anyone who doesn't code and even for people who do some programming but not for websites (like me), it isn't exactly self-explanatory. I think I've managing to find examples that indicate 'Roboto' seems to be consistently involved in the display issue. Secondly, the step for 'fixing' the font that is the culprit - my local system indicates that all fonts are valid and there are no duplicates. I haven't installed manually Roboto as I'm uncertain where to 'safely' get the font from and my computer is owned and managed by my workplace - with overly strict administration/security rules so if I f-up a download of something dodgy my IT service will blacklist me and revoke my admin access... ** which would mean I'd be unable to do my job!**. I wondered if perhaps there is some security setting due to that, which stops website from loading the fonts they choose? From previous 'solutions' it said that having Firefox preference set to "allow websites to choose their own fonts..." should mean the websites can load as needed. If indeed I must manually download fonts for each and every instance that Firefox fails to display text legibly that is equivalent to Firefox being unusable. I'm clearly frustrated and it's because I love FIrefox and the ethos behind it all so leaving for Chrome would be very sad indeed! Help and a solution for normal users would be so very much appreciated. Also where can I properly lodge this issue with peeps who fix things? There are issues of this kind going back years and for both Windows and Mac Systems so it's not a one-off problem but a recurring one! Whenever I try to download a file from google drive, I get: "The page isn’t redirecting properly An error occurred during a connection to drive.google.com. This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept cookies."

Downloading google docs files from drive works fine, they convert to word and save to my downloads like normal. But downloading image files or pdfs yields this error. Right-clicking and downloading them from the folder view just does nothing. There is no difference between shared files and my own drive files. This error only happens in firefox, I can download files on microsoft edge just fine.

This has been happening for a few weeks now. Things I've tried:

-clearing cookies and cache -restarting firefox, restarting computer -checking for updates and updating firefox -disabling all my add-ons -clearing startup cache -adding drive.google.com and google.com to the exceptions for enhanced tracking protection -switching from standard to custom and unchecking cookies from the list of trackers and scripts to block, then clearing all cookies and cache -attempting to download in firefox troubleshoot mode -attempting to download in incognito mode -refreshing firefox -re-installing firefox by following the steps here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1233618 -turned off real-time protection on computer antivirus (default for windows 10) -turned off microsoft defender firewall

I don't even know what else I can try. I assume it's a firefox error because this only happens using firefox on my laptop - I use firefox mobile and can download the same files on my phone. Does anyone have any advice?

Firefox with only this tab I am submitting this to, NO extensions as it is a brand new OS/machine, memory over half gig, in firefox task manager, GPU is over 300mb. This makes the browser literally unusable, tried resetting, renaming the profile file, logged in with my account, turned off hardware acceleration, rebooted the machine, nothing works...

Since the Firefox update released 2 days ago (version 115.0.1) I'm constantly having an issue which causes the video to stop playing after the adverts. I eventually get a video unavailable message. I've cleared my cache but it's made no difference. I'm hoping that this is a known issue & that someone is investigating ?

I want to attach a file and I click on a button (everything works perfectly on Chrome). When I click, in the console I get this error:

Of course, nothing happens when I click. I have Ubuntu 22.04 and apparently Firefox in installed with snap, and I have this problem since snap is used to install Firefox.

This message is the last I'm writing before I definitely move to Chrome. I hope I'll get the help I couldn't find on other places (I saw a lot of answers telling to deactivate snap, adding a ppa or some solutions like these).

Is there a memory issue with Firefox in regards to how PDF files are shown?

This happens every so often.

When I open a PDF the font is distorted and it seems to be encrypted. I have to close Firefox and reopen and then the PDF file is displayed correctly without any issue.

Youtube, sometimes, loads for ~5-10 seconds on average for no reason, doesn't load the video or audio at all. Extremely frustrating when I'm just browsing, it may not seem like a long amount of time but I shouldn't have these issues to begin with. Cleared cache, no addons are out of date or tamper with Youtube. Tried every fix I could find on the matter, nothing seems to have worked. Issue persists. I had similar issues with Kaspersky AV installed, so I had just uninstalled it. Prior to this newest firefox update, I have had no issues at all.
