I use FF 93.0 on Linux Mint. Sometimes I click on a link and it leads to a PDF file. It then downloads the file, makes hardly any sign that it completed and just sits there. On another computer of mine, FF downloads the file, opens the PDF viewer but does not activate the PDF viewer window.

How can I specify a default PDF viewer such that it always opens the PDF in the specified viewer and for other odd files, it asks me what program to use?

Hi I know you can just click on a tab and drag it to the left or right to sort out order etc. But I recall in the past, or maybe it was a different browser I'm not sure, but the little down arrow at the top left of the firefox browser that drops down a list of your opened tabs, I recall being able to click on one and move it up and down which is much quicker and easier. Maybe its the bookmarks I'm thinking of that lets you do this. But yes, is there a way to move tabs up and down in that window, or any extentions out there that enable such a feature. Thanks for the help.

I have today commissioned a new HP laptop running Windows 10.

I have downloaded Firefox and done a straightforward installation. I have viewed a couple of web pages but notice that when right clicking there is no longer a screenshot facility in the little menu box that appears. Trying Control + Shift + S does not work either.

I am writing this using Firefox 93.0 for Linux Mint on an old Toshiba Satellite and I have the facility - both right click and keyboard.

Has the facility been discontinued in the later version?

Many thanks in advance

Receiving the following message when trying to log onto well know and compliant crypto website:

403 ERROR The request could not be satisfied. Request blocked. We can't connect to the server for this app or website at this time. There might be too much traffic or a configuration error. Try again later, or contact the app or website owner. If you provide content to customers through CloudFront, you can find steps to troubleshoot and help prevent this error by reviewing the CloudFront documentation.

Never had this problem in recent past, only after updating Firefox to 93 (64-bit) Linux Ubuntu 20.4. I DON'T USE CLOUDFRONT. So what else may be the issue? Thank you.

Facing an issue with input tag when type attribute is set to 'number'. This allows me even to enter letters and special characters. Basically the check of type number is not working. Please look into this.

Attaching a screenshot of the MDN website. The input area corresponding to the type number allows me to enter the characters. You can see that I have entered '@!25'. Requesting to please look into this asap.

I have been a happy Firefox and Thunderbird used for many years, but the constant unnecessary tweaking and fiddling with the GUI has begun to spoil my user experience. Each update seemed to change something that was working fine and didn't need changing... the last straw was making the on-screen font so small that it was nearly impossible to read.

It took me quite a while to find a way to change the font size and appearance back to something usable. That was when I decided to disable automatic updates. Now, every time I open FF or TB I get a nag screen and this is beyond annoying. There does not appear to be any way to stop this happening outside of doing complicated stuff in the registry that I am not prepared to do.

So basically, I am looking for a recommendation on the best alternative browser and mail app that I can use when I delete FF and TB. Chrome seems to work OK for a browser and although I don't like the GUI, Gmail is probably the logical choice as I use Gmail addresses. I don't need apps that work on phones as I work on a PC, so a simple clear GUI is more important to me than all kinds of clever features that I will never use :)

Cheers... John D

Pretty much as the title says. I'm finding that the URL bar offers up an autocomplete list of sites, search suggestions, et al, before anything has been typed. It's the tiniest thing, but for some reason it feels presumptuous. More like it doesn't need to happen. Is there a way to adjust this behaviour?

Linux dual display restricted window width on opening

Hi, I'm currently running Firefox on Fedora Linux 35 with Gnome 41 on a dual display setup, with a vertical one on the left (1920*1080) and a horizontal one on the right (2560*1440). I always open Firefox windows on the 2560*1440 monitor.

After closing the window, Firefox seems to remember the height of last session but not the width. Or more specifically, the width is always restricted to 1080, which is exactly the width of the secondary display, if the width on closing is greater than that. I checked the xulstore.json file in the configuration folder it always shows "width":"1080", which confirmed my speculation.

Is there a way that makes Firefox's new opening window with exactly the same width as when it was closed ignoring the second display's resolution?

Many times Firefox will give an incorrect security warning. This has been occurring for more than two years, across many websites/Firefox updates. Currently using Windows 10 and Firefox 97 (Firefox is set to clear all cookies/information when closing). EXAMPLE: Open browser (Firefox) and in the URL type the website (e.g. shrepc) Press CTRL + ENTER to auto-fill the URL Firefox displays message "Warning: Potential Security Risk Ahead" giving the options to "Go Back" or "Advanced" At this point close Firefox. Open Firefox again. In the URL link type "www.shrepc.com" and press ENTER The website is displayed with no errors. Has anyone else experienced this?

Just moved from a certain other browser and I'm still not familiar with the things here, is it possible to change the background for the default homepage? I know you can do it with extensions and stuff but I would prefer the default homepage to be customizable so it doesn't have more things to load when I launch the browser
