The Firefox Community here has tried to be very helpful with all the users who hate the changes in Version 89/90, but we need Mozilla/Firefox to hear us.

CSS work-arounds are fine for the IT-literate, which I am not. They are also only temporary. We have no indication that FF is even paying attention to our complaints.

They need to understand that some users have a keyboard and mouse attached to a PC, not a touchscreen like on a pad or phone. It looks like FF wants to cater to touchscreens. This DOES NOT WORK for PC users.

I suggest one UI for touchscreens and a different one for PCs. IIRC, there is a FF version for Windows AND a different one for Apple; why not do the same?

Nobody seems to have any response other than "use this CSS fix." I've also been directed to "clean up the help platform myself" - huh?

Can we please get SOME kind of response from the platform itself? Or are they just trying to get rid of all users without touchscreens?

I received a Yahoo email which contained a set of 33 images, all of which display correctly in W10 and (pardon the expression) Edge. Attachment 0 shows 1 of the 33 images.

Of those 33 images, I can see only 13 using W10 and Ffx 88.0.1. The rest are blank spaces. Attachment 1 is one of the blanks.

Attachment 2 is the URL for one of the blanks. Attachment 3 is an error message that I hope might help to determine what's going on here.

What am I missing? Do I have my Ffx settings messed up? I'd appreciate a nudge in the right direction...thanks!

When version 89.2 rolled out, I was highly displeased by the fact that the default theme now no longer properly reflected the Windows theme settings (extremely noticeable on my end, since I use the Windows Classic theme with customized "3D object" colors); this defect had already affected the options dropdown but had now spread to the address/navigation bar, bookmarks toolbar, and scrollbar. This was extremely annoying, especially since none of the add-on themes can properly duplicate that aesthetic function. One of the things I liked about Firefox was that unlike Chrome, Opera, and Edge... it actually still respected the Windows theme settings (which programs like browsers should do by default). And now, that prized trait had been inexplicably and insensibly discarded.

I was further displeased by the removal of the dividing lines between tabs. This made Firefox substantially harder for me to use, almost headache-inducingly so. Whoever you have testing these changes before rollout - if anyone - should be replaced, because this was a massive accessibility downgrade. Unacceptably so.

These changes were so frustrating and ugly, and made the browser so much more difficult for me to use, that I reverted to version 88 and continue to remain on that version.

Does version 90 resolve these issues? If it does, I'll update. But if not.... then in my opinion it should be axed and you should cease pushing it in favor of working on a new version that does fix these poor decisions. And I'll be sticking to version 88 until that happens.

Hello mozilla support. Firstly I apologize for my english. I love Firefox and using him for many years this time i run on 64bit version number 88.0. I recently discover problem with my saved passwords in Firefox and i mean this broke my or everyone privacy using feature of saving passwords by Firefox. After some time past installation of antivirus program Avast on my desktop PC i was surprised with new installed program on my desktop named Avast Secure Browser. I ran this program first time and without any his any question he show up in front of meon desktop. I discover in his settings that all my passwords saved in Firefox was succesfully decrypted because when i click on the eye icon my password was showed up as he is in firefox. Then i search for a file in my user profile where the Avast Secure Browser has my passwords stored and then check this file on all other user profiles on my PC where nobody not even once run this Avast Secure Browser but all passwords was already prepared for them in that file on all user accounts without any grant or approval by other users during their work on PC. I am only man which administrate this PC and I dont allow Avast Secure Browser stole my passwords from Firefox. My questions is obvious. How secure is for any user which stored their passwords in Firefox before any other system application like antivirus installed on PC with platform windows? How is possible for any app simply decrypt my passwords from logins.json file? For me it is a very bad if this was allowed through maybe some function in Firefox API that can some program use, but i am not an expert on Firefox a that is why i wrote this. If a problem is Avast which use some not good practise in this app, then i immediately send him feedback. But firstly i want answer from your team.

I think I'm about to give up with this 'get help' thingy...everytime I press Enter/return carriage it disappears!

I don't like update 89. If you want a detailed reason from me then let's just say I have old eyes and I agree with all the complaints I've read so far. So, as I always make a recovery point before updating, I've rolled back my computer to 88 and will be staying there, thank you.

Now I would like a way to stop the annoying update notice. Please don't tell me to make files and scripts and mess with the registry...I mean, for goodness sakes, where's the button or the "opt out" thingy?

I will not be updating again until I read that I can keep the look I had without having to 'add-on' or try themes or heaven forbid make my own.

If security changes were Firefox's reasons for updating fair enough...but how did the look of a piece of software become a security issue? If this is 'new fresh' I don't want it, I'll just stay old and stale thanks.

Turning Off Update Reminders in Firefox

Hello,

How can I permanently deactivate this nagging update reminder in the upper right corner (green arrow over Application Menu button) and frequent pop-ups in upper right corner where I have to repeatedly click on "Not Now"?

I'm not upgrading to v89 because the next update will once again BREAK my userChrome.css code and my user interface (with tabs on bottom and custom button images) will appear scrambled.

I'm quite tired of having to jump through hoops and search for CSS solutions to fix these issues every few updates. It causes me too much anxiety.

I'm sticking with v88.0.1 for the forseeable future.

How can I shut off this annoying update reminder permanently?

Thanks.

I just bought an HP Officejet 9018. I tried printing a receipt that was sent as an attachment to my gmail. It only prints very small in the upper left hand corner even though the print preview looks normal. I tried to print a return label that Amazon sent me a link to. It printed the same way. I called HP & after connecting with my laptop & trying many different settings unsuccessfully, they had me try to print from Chrome. The attached receipt in gmail & the return label printed fine from Chrome. It also printed fine from my gmail in my Android phone & my iPad, so the issue is only when in Firefox on my Windows 10 computer. My saved documents print fine. I just updated to the latest Firefox today, but the issue started when I got the HP printer & tried to print while using Firefox 2 days ago.

I saw instructions in here on checking the paper_data. It shows letter. I changed from "fit to page width" to Scale 100. I still have the same issue. There was one other instructions given to someone in Mozilla Support to click "file" & then something else, but I have nothing on my page that says "file". I assume the person answering the question thought the person asking was trying to print a saved document, but that wasn't the case.

I tried to attach screen prints, but my laptop is having issues & isn't saving them for some odd reason, yet I can see them in the "recents" in Microsoft Word. I save them again, but the same thing. It isn't in the folder when I click "browse" on "Add images" below.

What else can I do? it's such a pain to have to go to Chrome every time I want to print something. Thanks

Hi. Previously I installed Firefox on Ubuntu with command `sudo apt install firefox`. I'm using Firefox 88.0 for Ubuntu. I want to update it to the latest version. When I try following commands: `sudo apt update` `sudo apt install firefox`

It says "firefox is already the newest version (88.0+build2-0ubuntu0.20.04.1)." But I know version 89 and 90 are released.

I attached "About Firefox" window. There is no update button.

I set about updating my e-mail address on this forum. I followed a hyperlink which had been e-mailed to me automatically in the past by the forum, and which pointed to support.mozilla.org

The first screen (whose URL I don't want to try to get right now because doing so might sign me out of my Support.Mozilla.org account) offered only an option for creating a new account, not signing into an existing account. It turns out that this is a very significant wording mistake that needs to be corrected.

Since I thought my existing account didn't exist anymore, I made a new account with my new e-mail address.

Then I found that the short username assigned to my new account had a "1" suffixed - which meant that my existing account did exist after all. So I deleted the new account. I also managed to sign into my existing account by using the misleadingly named "Create a new account" method.

The next problem was how to change my primary e-mail address. There is no evident way to do this. I eventually found article https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/change-primary-email-address-firefox-accounts which confirmed my suspicion that the recommended workaround is to add the new address as a "secondary address," then delete the primary address. This is another significant issue that needs to be corrected. I'm registered on possibly dozens of Web forums etc. & all of them (except Mozilla) simply let me change my e-mail address when I need to.

Anyway, now apparently the support forum doesn't let me add my current e-mail address as a secondary e-mail address, because there is still a record of this address on the defunct account that I just now created. Also, the error message here is worded incorrectly (it claims that my new e-mail address is the same as my old e-mail address).

Can I please have assistance from a forum admin in getting my e-mail address updated, without change to my short username.

I also wish there were a more obvious way to ask for help (or raise defect reports) regarding the forum itself.

Thanks for your help.

Hello.

Cycling through unpinned tabs is easy, Ctrl+Tab does the job.... But what about pinned tabs?

People are more likely to have more pinned tabs open and saved to their browser than unpinned tabs, like myself, as surely, that is the point of pinned tabs.

So I cannot for the life of me understand why I can't find a keyboard shortcut to cycle through these!! Is it really possible for developers to overlook this simple but extremely useful and effective shortcut?!

Can anyone help?

Mike.
