Hi There

My webmail will not load of Firefox. I haven't been ab;e to access my email via Firefox for over a week. I have spoken to my webmail provider and they say it's a problem with Firefox because I can access my webmail on other browsers.

I just want to be able to access my webmail through Firefox like I use to last week. I prefer Firefox's features to other browsers.

No onw seems to be able to help me.

Thanks Carolyn

I have been locked out of my firefox account: I can log in, but I can't sync my saved passwords, bookmarks, search history and so on. I now have access to my email account again: xxx@sol.dk - but how do I unlocke it, so that I can sync my stuff to my new, re-installed firefox browser??

When I press the link 'let us know' (see photo), I'm redirected to this page: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/ And I'm stuck, I can't seem to figure out how to solve this..

Hope you can help me! Kind regards

When I used CONTROL + SHIFT + B it opens the bookmarks window, when the documentation says it should toggle the visibility of the bookmarks boolbar. I'm on 83.0 64-bit on Win10. I've also got FF Dev Edn (84.0b8 64-bit) and this shortcut works fine. I've tried refreshing Firefox profile/settings from the Help/Troubleshooting menu. Anything else I can try to get this working?

As I looked at the Application Basics under Troubleshooting info, I noticed that under Add ONs there are some that I was not aware of, such as extensions for Amazon.com, Bing, ebay, Google. Are these added by default by Firefox? Under the heading ENABLED, each of them is listed as TRUE.

Under Manage Your Extensions (about:Addons), none of them is shown as Enabled.

I am wondering why these extensions are listed under Add ONs under Application Basics and what's the implication of these being there. There seems to be some "discrepancy" between the 2 locations where they are listed, one of the showing them Enabled, the other one not listing them as Enabled....

Thanks.

I'm not sure if this is the correct place to ask this nor am I sure that this isn't just one of my many installed extensions being wonky -- but is there a way to keep the volume meter at the same level across tabs? More specifically, I peruse the old.reddit.com/r/livestreamfail website and I open each thread in a new tab with the option to block the audio and video from autoplaying enabled and the volume meter is always set at 0% on every embedded clip. I wish the behavior of the video player to leave the volume slider at the percentage from the last time I manipulated the volume slider from a previous clip, that way I don't need to touch the volume slider whenever I start playing the new video. Is this the behavior of the twitch video player or is there a config setting I can change to achieve the desired behavior? Shouldn't blocking video inherently block audio too? Why does autoplay option always set the volume to 0%?

I'm on updated OpenSuse Tumbleweed with Firefox version 83.0

My firefox extensions include: Facebook Container, GNOME Shell integration, Reddit Enhancement Suite, SponsorBlock for Youtube, uBlock Origin and Weather

Hi,

Firefox desktop UI (v 84.0) is showing black boxes in some portions of the screen (screenshots attached). This seems to go away once I switch tabs or resize the window. This is happening for any website and is pretty random. It does looks to me some UI glitch.

I have tried the below to resolve on my end without success: 1. Upgrading to the latest release 84.0.1. Downgrading to 83.0 didn't help either 2. Tried checking safe mode and browser refresh and also with and without add-ons enabled 3. Tried tweaking the config gfx.webrender.enabled = true

I am using the x64 version on an updated Windows 10 system with Nvidia 940MX card.

Appreciate your help in resolving this.

Hi there,

Over the past couple of weeks, Firefox (83.0 64 bit) has started displaying distorted text. It will come up on a site and the only way to get it back to normal is to highlight the text. I have attached an image of the issue.

Thanks!

Looks like Firefox uses Google to decide which sites to block when using FF. I know how to turn it off and get around the block, but FF seems to be following the thinking of now allowing conservative Christian views on their browser by using Google. This may backfire and is not an open use of the internet as FF claims. The site being blocked is https://www.toddstarnes.com/.

You may not agree with him, but that doesn't mean blocking the site.

This is basically a copy of what I put in the Ubuntu forum. The problem is the same, no matter where I post it.

Originally I was using Ubuntu 18.04 LTS.

I thought it would be good to update to GG (20.10) though I did briefly try FF (20.04).

As the install was done on an existing 18.04 version things remained the same for programs, book marks, etc.

Ok, now the crunch: I USE Firefox ""A LOT"". When it loads, there are...... 8 x 6 windows of FireFox and each of those have anywhere from one to ""THIRTY"" tabs loading.

Believe me: ""It worked!!""

I could use it, also run other tasks as well - though a VM was pushing it with the RAM. But the entire machine worked.

Now, I am lucky if FireFox loads at all. Let alone let me browse.

When it loads some of the window's tops are flashing. A screen shot does not really show this. (I tried)

All that has changed is the O/S from 18.04 and Firefox from (what ever it was) to 83.0

I don't want this to be a finger pointing exercise between Mozilla and Ubuntu. I would prefer it is helpful to all.

What have I tried? I've tried starting FireFox with all addons disabled. Still happens.

I am going to try to remember to (next time) launch FireFox from a Terminal and pipe the output to a file to look for things.

The machine I am using has shown it is well up to being able to have this running. I have had it working for a few years like this.

This post is (for now) to establish there is a problem. I will post more information when I get it, rather than waiting to get it then post, as I feel there are a lot of people who have very similar problems and I want it known: ""You are not alone!""

Now a bit of extra stuff.

Other things which are weird: When I am watching stuff - youtube for example - the playback is/WAS jerky. I hadn't touched anything in the settings.

After digging around, I discovered that I had to turn ""OFF"" the hardware acceleration for the graphics. Question: How did it get turned on? (Semi rhetorical)

I have a lot of local pages I open with passwords. When I load them the CPU load goes through the roof and nearly invariably the program just exits. No crash report.

Which is a good 50% of how it happens. The other 50% is the machine just locks up and I have to power it down.

When firefox is in full screen mode, as soon as I take my mouse cursor to switch tabs the Mac Os action bar (bar with close and minimize icons on it ) covers the tabs and make it hard to switch tabs, same happens while reaching for address bar which extremely annoying and frustrating.

I see other applications handles it really well for this situation so its not the macos issue. I reported this on twitter too but no satisfying response. I like firefox and don't want to switch back to other browser so please fix this. This issue is extremely frustrating and impacts the core functionality of the firefox or browser in general.

I have attached images from Chrome and source tree, both are third party application. Best handling of this action is done by safari, which smoothly animate and make the space for close and minimize buttons along with the tabs but that's a first party app and not sure if the same can be achieved by third party apps.

I am running Big Sur but this was happening even in Catalina.

Thank you!
