I keep getting a widevinecdm error when trying to play hulu, netflix or amazon videos on my mac. This just started yesterday and I'm not sure why.

I'm running mozilla firefox version 78.10.0esr (64-bit) on a macbook pro running OS X version 10.9.5

Anyone have any fixes?

I've been using Firefox with Virgin Media's TV Go https://virgintvgo.virginmedia.com/en.html for quite a while without a problem. After the latest update I got the message to update the browser to the latest version and restart. I've tried talking to Virgin about it but been given the runaround by them - surprise. I've tried other browsers, Safari, Chrome, but the quality of the stream is poor compared to what I was getting with Firefox. Has anyone got any ideas? Any hopes?

and with some chrome extensions but only 3-row tabs, different color on unloaded tabs and show X on hover thats all my usechrome.css

Have Firefox 78.10.0esr (64-bit) with PLug-in Widevine Content Decryption Module 4.10.2209.1

Have (Late-2012) Mac Mini with Mac OSX 10.9.5 (A MUST HAVE, due to it being the last version that is compatible with Nikon and other software no longer supported)

So, upgrading Mac Operating System is not an option.

And, upgrading Firefox does not seem to be an option, because 78.10.0esr is the last compatible version with the Mac 10.9.5 operating system.

The issue I am having is when I go to read the online edition of the newspaper. a long thin yellow bar appears at the top of the screen with "The Widevine Cdm has crashed. (Learn More)" and further down on the page it shows, "Video Player Error Sorry, there has been a technical error with this video stream." with an error code that relates to "Digital Rights Management" . . . It is checked in Preferences > General.

So, not sure what the problem is.

This has occurred within the past two weeks ONLY.

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Firefox has been my favourite browser for years but I am about to uninstall and kick it to the curb!!!

Every time I want to attach/insert an image (on many different sites/platforms/apps) it freezes ~ I have to shut down and start again, losing whatever I have been working on. I have uninstalled and reinstalled a few times and have checked ~ all is up to date.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Hey, my website "www.kosmetikstuebchen-nicole.de" is not correctly displaying in Firefox Browser. In Google Chrome, Opera and Safari there is no problem. You can see the problem on the screenshot. I still ask my provider "Host Europe" if they are able to explain, why during using the Firefox Browser the website is not correct. They just told me, that maybe there might be a problem with the accessability view, but they were not able to solve the problem! Is there anybody who can help me to solve that problem? Thanks a lot! I have disabled autoplay in my preferences for all websites, but some videos on some websites still autoplay. (This is under Preferences / Privacy and Security / Autoplay. Under "Default for all Websites", it is set to Block Audio and Video.) How is it that some websites are able to get around this? Is there a way to defeat them?

Firefox update (about 4 weeks ago?) resulted in losing access to various accounts eg: bank, health care provider. Forced to use Chrome (blech!) Websites now state that I'm using an "unsupported browser". Have contacted host sites and they are unresponsive and/or unable to provide solution. Can still access bank etc from Android phone but forced to use other browsers from MacBook Pro.

For the last few updates of firefox I haven't been able to restore closed tabs with the regular keyboard shortcut (believe it was ctrl+alt+t and now ctrl+shift+t). The shortcut simply does nothing at all. It is frustrating as sometimes I close a tab by accident and then I have to go through the whole process clicking to find it instead of being able to bring it back up in half the time using the shortcut. I am on firefox 90.0.
