After Update, from 77.0 to 77.0.1 I am facing an issue. Now most of my YouTube videos are broken... I can hear but can not watch. It also happend with other websites. I reset, reinstall, cleared cache, removed extension to fix the problem.. but no result.

Up until recently I was using a 11 year old laptop that was slowing dying. I was finally able to acquire a new computer and get it up and running just before an accident (as if out of a comedy movie - the roommate's cat knocked a full bowl of cereal onto the old laptop) effectively destroyed the old machine. Thankfully, Firefox Sync meant that everything I had been working on appeared when I got the new machine fully functional...until I logged on to Firefox this evening to find my Synced Tabs empty with just a "Want to see your tabs from other devices here? Connect Another Device" message.

The old device is toast...I don't know if it will even turn on again, much less function enough to sign into Firefox. Synced Tabs was also working just fine for a solid week until it just up and disappeared. Is there some way to restore these? I know it's my fault for relying/expecting Sync to always be there and not backing up the links I had open immediately, and this is a mistake I won't make again...but I'd really love to not lose everything I had open.

Hi When I log out of Firefox and then log in again the settings that I want have changed themselves. I want the following settings to remain but they don't.

Logins and Passwords Ask to save logins and passwords for websites Autofill logins and passwords Save History

All the logins and passwords that I want to keep appear in the list and most of the websites still log in as normal BUT there are a couple who insist I re-enter username and password and I don't want to keep having to do this. I have tried clearing all cookies and saved log ins for the problem websites and then re entered them after ticking the login/password option and it works fine. However when I end Firefox and then log in again these websites then insist I re enter everything. I have even deleted version 81 and managed to re-install an earlier version but that still fails.

Maybe my request is very weird. But ever since the new firefox/mozilla revamp, I am told I have to log in each time I use firefox. I don't know why and what benefits. Its time consuming as after the log in, I need to get a code from my emails and so on. It is really annoying to do this. Or am i doing something wrong and have missed something? Anything will help before I start disusing firefox due to these extra steps. Thanks for tips. Peter

Since i upgrade the computers i have on my network to W10, i have big issues with firefox, even when the computers are not register on the domain.

After the first launch of firefox evrythings good, but after it become imposible to open the software. I try evrythings i can find on the firefox internet sites. delete cache, reinstall firefox, try others version...

i try to get the ID of the crash report in "%APPADATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Crash Report\submitted" but the file name "submitted" doesn't appear. so, i sent you the message i could fing in the "events" file finded in "Crash Report".

I'm not sure if the informations a send you is the good one, so if you have any question, please ask them and if you needed tell me where to find more information which can be usefull.

Hi there!

My firefox suddenly stopped to show me pages. I don't know what's the reason of it, however it doesn't work either in a safe mode (without any additionals) or without it. Also it doesn't work on 2 different windows accounts with different browser settings. I can't do anything there, and when I run the browser I can see the page content for about 2 secs, and then suddenly it crashes. When I refresh it again, I can still see the content for only a short while and it breaks again (image in attachment shows it). I'll be thankful for any help with that problem. I've suspected it's some kind of virus but anti-virus program doesn't detect anything.

After upgrading to FF 77.0.1, the on screen keyboard (OSK) no longer pops up when touching input fields. Not on websites and not in the FF search box. This occurs on 2 Surface devices - a Pro5 and a Go - both at current Windows updates. Both have been using prior FF versions happily for some time. Manual start of the keyboard does allow keyboard entry (it's just a nuisance).

The about:config OSK settings show:

ui.osk.debug.keyboardDisplayReason is showing "AIOSKIDM: failed reading value of regkey."

True for ui.osk.detect_physical_keyboard and ui.osk.enabled False for ui.osk.require_win10 No value for ui.osk.on_screen_keyboard_path

Any ideas of what to try?

Anyone else notice excessive cpu usage with Firefox 77.0.1? It's been going on for the past week. 17.6-27% cpu usage just sitting here on the support page only after a fresh restart of the computer.

I also just noticed tonight not a single page would load. Switched to trouble shooting which disables the addons and pages loaded. Closed the browser and opened it again to be in normal mode and started disabling addons. The one I disabled to get pages to load again was Adblock Plus. Go figure of all the addons this is the one that is going to kill the browser from loading anything. I've already sent a report for this on the addon itself not sure what else to do there other then enjoy a bunch of adds for a while.

The one that concerns me more is Firefox just sucking away at the power for no reason at all. I can fill the top bar with tabs normally and not be using this much cpu. I would say it has developed a memory leak of sorts or something considering it's using 0 disk and network activity yet currently is using 18.4% cpu and 635MB memory for this single page being open.

I would like to use DuckDuckGo.

But I can see no such option.

How can I buffer more than two minutes at a time on Youtube? I've just read [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/que.../1168957], and I tried setting both media.cache_readahead_limit and media.cache_resume_threshold to 999999, but there seems to be no effect. It still stops at two minutes ahead of the current position in the video, and won't buffer more. What's the fix?

What command line option(s) should I use to open several URLs as tabs in a NEW private browsing window. So, if a private browsing window is already open, a new window should be opened.

I've checked https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Mozilla/Command_Line_Options /quote -private-window URL Open URL in a new private browsing window. If a private browsing window is already open, a new tab is opened in the existing window. /unquote Why can one open new private windows pressing ctrl-shft-P, and apparently not in a command line ?

i updated to windows 10 build 2004 and since then my firefox takes up to a minute to start while it was launch instantly right before Windows update.

i have tried deleting cache and certain cookies but still nothing. i can connect in normal browsing and via private browsing in edge. please help? i have no idea what is causing this issue.

everything is up to date on my computer and so is firefox

a workaround that worked temporarily was via duckduckgo and clicking google after searching for it and now that no longer works

i have ublock origin installed but that does not seem to affect google when turning it off and back on

also youtube in normal browsing is no longer loading images or thumbnails. please help

Is there a way to customize the urlbar and disable the annoying "visit this site" and "search with"? Everytime when typing for an address, the incomplete "visit this site" leads to a problem. May any expert from Mozilla Firefox explain that? Any modification like those should be user-selectable. The use must be as much professional as possible, even though this browser is intended for all targets. This way, you're only annoying users and leading them to use other browsers like Chrome (crap) and Explorer (crap). Keep in mind that many others are developing new browsers, live Avast, and when people leaves, it will be difficult for you for them to come back. Use common sense. Thanks.

URL bar is correcting TLDs on urls such as example.ocm ( -> example.com ), example.ent ( -> example.net ). Also cannot find the config option to disable this.

Hello, is there a way to make Firefox 77.0.1 use system-provided location on Ubuntu 18.04?

When I use the gnome-maps program, I see a "gps" icon in top-right system status bar.

But when I use maps in Firefox, no system location request appears. Firefox just queries Mozilla Location Service on it's own (after setting geo.provider.network.url to https://location.services.mozilla.com/v1/geolocate?key=%MOZILLA_API_KEY%, there was Google (which was failing for some reason) originally), seen in browser console.

Hi guys I have been getting crash errors since yesterday. I completely deleted Firefox (and related folders) and installed a new fresh version. But the problem did not solve. I have 2 Report IDs:

After upgrading from Firefox 76.0.1 to 77.0.1 on Windows 10, I am unable to connect with my Asus RT-AC68U router via the browser interface. When I attempt to login to the router, I get an error message "Invalid username or password". If I use Chrome version 83.0.4103.97, I am able to access the router without issue. I have tried Firefox in Safe Mode, but I still get the same error message. I have also tried resetting Firefox without any success.

I have another computer running Windows 10 with Firefox 76.0.1, so I confirmed that I could access the router with that version of Firefox and it worked fine. I updated Firefox on that machine to version 77.0.1 using the update button under Help/About and then tried connecting with the router again - it fails with the "Invalid username or password" error message. Again, I am able to connect using either Chrome or Edge browsers, but not with the latest version of Firefox.

Clicked mute button on KDFC tab and page lost sound permanently. Mute button disappeared. Streaming button no longer clickable. This effect on 2 different computers! IT friend looked at it and was puzzled. He created...private window?...and sound is fine. What is the problem and is it KDFC, my computer, or Firefox????
