The solution below no longer works. My current version of Firefox is 64.0.2

When did this problem start for you?

On Mac, Firefox 56 ratcheted up the security sandbox, limiting which files pages can use on your system. This apparently prevents Firefox from using font files in a "suitcase" or "Adobe Type 1" format. The developers are aware of this and some fixes were made in Firefox 57, but they might have missed some font types or unexpected font file locations.

To see whether this is the problem, and as a temporary workaround, you can reduce the sandbox security level back to what it was in Firefox 52-55 as follows:

(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Return. Click the button accepting the risk.

(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste sand and pause while the list is filtered

(3) Double-click the security.sandbox.content.level preference and change the value from 3 to 1 and click OK

That change won't take effect until the next time you quit and restart Firefox

My HTML file image gets automatically larger than the screen when I download it. When I try zooming smaller to make the top of the image appear, then the bottom of the image disappears. The pixel dimensions of the original image are 4:3 (4 horizontal...3 vertical), set up for the apple ipad. It would be OK for me if the image was stretched or squished a little to fit, but the image cannot be cropped unnecessarily to fit. Is there a "fit image into screen" button I'm missing? Thanks for your help Best Regards Richard

I just opened a fresh install of FF on a new Win 10 system. I found that my tabs now are in the task bar in the botom of my window, as in screenshot 1. However, it seems that certain tabs still appear at the top, which is my preference, as in screenshot 2, right above the address box. I've seen custom css files to keep the tabs on the bottom, but is there a custom css file to keep them on top, or another fix? And why are some on top and others on the bottom? Thanks.

Hi FIrefox team, I have a Windows 10 display computer system that is switched on 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It uses multiple Firefox windows to display charts and images, 10 windows in total.

Every morning, I come in to office and discover that most of the Firefox windows are displaying the "Gah! Something crashed." message. It gives a convenient blue button to reload all the tabs, but I would like to find out what is causing the crash and prevent crashes in the first place.

Here is a list of my submitted crash reports: bp-c5d9f2c2-5bc6-41de-bddd-7c0200190118 bp-bf25e5a0-cad1-4074-8ddf-929b10190118 bp-5674a715-89c3-4640-8047-73acb0190118 bp-442bc27e-1060-44e1-bb76-04aaa0190118 bp-20d258a7-7024-4598-871b-1462b0190118 bp-df21407f-8e9c-497f-a5da-1b3b40190118 bp-2a1bfd31-ba3b-4fa9-85dc-5b6330190118 bp-1c94d311-0d2c-40d1-b8d3-98ad40190118 bp-dad18dc2-80cd-4c09-911f-cfc2e0190118 bp-0b9f5eb9-9296-435a-a81e-4dca50190118 bp-8550c9ad-fc92-4fed-b18f-b08ef0190118 bp-b804dffd-357c-4cd0-8775-802240190118 bp-f0cbc689-173a-4985-9e2c-533b40190118 bp-53a5b4a9-cbaa-4acb-9e2d-5d3730190118 bp-444ace91-f119-4b07-abe3-52aa90190118 bp-91f59963-c384-40a8-bda0-3742d0190118 bp-ef79359b-d874-4fdc-a13f-2f8bc0190118 bp-41e45dec-df7e-426f-9ce5-79ede0190118 bp-0b6cb5b4-63ee-4961-a932-26d110190118 bp-8f1a7b0c-dae5-4267-a429-090cc0190118 bp-f926a9f2-c18b-498e-9124-c5d610190118 bp-8fdfd938-2455-4e35-a2ff-6fb390190118 bp-0d1d06d6-6b02-4120-993c-7855c0190118 bp-8216efb6-cfd6-4a3a-99a6-e906d0190118 bp-75055862-9253-4203-9540-4b56c0190118 bp-72d4461c-2dec-4b9a-aa77-886100190118 bp-0d595bae-c31e-43f4-8595-3628d0190118 bp-c0ad0570-4c66-4934-a3b8-10db00190118 bp-3d223716-1228-45f8-be6e-5e8d00190118 bp-2a0eeb33-7fd3-4bb9-9126-4ea230190118 bp-7645df77-c345-4125-962c-28bf30190118 bp-ee38c9ba-8af3-4ddb-b934-69ed00190118 bp-1fdb3c66-997d-4a09-9b8f-cb6b50190118 bp-d1b04b46-63ff-4a55-865a-35c8e0190118 bp-f0c7172e-0ae2-4b49-ba14-12e230190118 bp-829bd3f3-01a1-45bf-9be0-9511b0190118 bp-497479cc-613e-46c6-941a-27a400190118 bp-8f56cbd1-ad54-430e-b3de-76a3f0190118 bp-fc5b34f4-5d78-46a0-9117-fc5e80190118 bp-918b8676-4980-44a5-bba7-c60910190118 bp-0469f739-7f32-4438-9424-981350190118 bp-496588b4-2e69-4b07-b010-9b7090190118 bp-d05d2e63-cf38-47d9-b8f4-6c5bd0190118 bp-e540a4ed-25a2-491f-a100-cbef70190116 bp-5eca4c71-757f-486e-b341-110b20190109 bp-aaa90706-fc2d-44d4-8374-d82280181218 bp-b395dcab-4f78-4f05-b5ed-a0e4a0181213 bp-9b50ee2f-401b-4d5b-accf-578230181206

I CAN install and run and out of date Firefox browser, but I've been having PC issues thought maybe running the old browser was the cause of my issues, but it isn't because I'm now using Firefox Quantum 64.0.2 (64-bit), and my PC issues still persist. This problem is unrelated to the problem I am talking about today, which starts below:

The new problem I am having is that a couple of days ago, it just started, no Youtube comments load when I click on a video to watch. If I click on the notification bell, I can read the comments in there, and if I click to watch a video I commented on, if that video has 525 comments, I might be able to see 30 or 40 of those comments.

If I go to www.youtube.com and left click on a video to watch, no comments load. The video loads fine, and I can watch videos. When I scroll down, there is no loading circle, and no comments.

I went to Internet Explorer, and in Youtube, all comments are showing up. On my phone, all comments are showing up. Today I had notifications that some of my previous comments were liked.

I'm running Windows 7 Pro x64 SP1, 32GB RAM, AMD FX-8300, Nvidia GTX 970 4GB GDDR5, on board sound, on board lan. Firefox addons are Adblock Plus and Quick Dial. I was running this version of Firefox just fine, and a couple of days ago, I noticed that the comments aren't showing up. I had both of these addons installed, and comments did show up, now they aren't.

For months (maybe 6-8), every time firefox restarts for whatever reason, the browser windows always change in size, shape, and location. The "default" size always runs off the edge of the screen, which means they aren't functional as-is (whatever's off the screen obviously can't be read or otherwise interacted with). It also tends to consistently move windows to the left, so they're stacked right on top of each other (messily) instead of being spaced out.

I can and do resize it, but it's a complete pain to do so every single time... especially since I use cascading windows to let me navigate between windows easily, so the oversize and overlap means I can't easily access several windows until I do resize and move each one. Since my task bar/desktop is unreliable, I can't use the icons or shortcuts pull up windows unless I can actually click on them on the screen - this problem is outside the scope of the question, of course, it just explains why I cannot find a workaround.

Since firefox usually restarts when updating or other automated restarts, which triggers the windows to change size on restarting, I tried manually resizing the windows and then manually shutting down and reopening firefox to see if that would "save" the new sizes - this was a catastrophic failure, it failed to save or open *any* of my windows, showing no recently closed windows or tabs in history and no previous browsing sessions. And I do have it set up to open previous windows and sessions, I went through and double checked *every* setting after that. I did have session sync going, so I could save some of it - but only some, since session sync fails to save the history of any tab (to show previous pages) and I often stack several related pages in one tab to organize. I have turned to using automated shutdowns (forced shutdowns through the task manager, etc) since I at least won't lose everything that way.

I also tried (based on searching for possible solutions) disabling the window resize line in about:config (from here: https://codeyarns.com/2011/03/25/firefox-disable-window-resize-or-move/) which did nothing

I am tearing my hair out over this, any help would be really appreciated.

After latest update 64.0.2 (64-bit), all attempts to download any file of any type fail. I have tried different sites, and different file types. As soon as I click a file link on the browser page to download, the download starts (as indicated by the download arrow at top of firefox windows) but then immediately fails. When I look in the download folder the file size is zero. There is no additional information in the download window other than the text Failed and the name of the file. I have even tried https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/

Firefox Quantum 64.0.2 Mac 10.14.2

I removed FF from the system and redownloaded FF and after using it for a few days none of the the bookmark links I click on in the toolbar work/activate. I have opened FF in safemode and still it has the same problem. I have been using FF for several years and this problem started happening about a month or so ago. FF does connect to the net. I can type a URL address in the search bar and open that site though. I have run Malwarebytes and nothing bad is found.

Does anyone have this problem? Help please.

Since the beginning of January I have been unable to use - google maps:

-when searching a place, it doesn't show it with an arrow and warp to it, like it is supposed to -planning routes doesn't show a blue line towards the destination, like it is supposed to - using the menu button doesnt respond, it simply does nothing, no error, no refresh, nothing.

-Gmail:

-When i was logged in (not anymore) the buttons on the site wouldn't show, just empty spaces with the backgrounds lighting up when hovering above the supposed location. I had to use the outdated html-only version, which worked. -The account buttons in the top-right corner didn't respond (like with maps)

Youtube:

-Some ads do not display correctly (the ads on the side of the page, above the recommended videos and the ads that are banners under videos, image included), merely showing the name and title of the ad with no background. (This made me suspect either the CSS doesnt work (maybe some ads use css?) or there is an error with the server, since firefox merely shows the title/head of the picture.

Google in general:

-I cannot log in to google, the button that says "Next" does not respond, like with maps and gmail.

Other sites: -Some show the "Please disable adblocker" message, which is weird since i have no adblocker active.

In general:

This problem occurs on all browsers (at least Edge and Chrome), but firefox is my primary browser therefore I am asking it here. Except for these abnormalities all other functions and animations work as intended. Personally I think it might have something to do with either the Javascript or being a server error, virus might also be an option.

Things I have tried so far: -Booting windows in Safe mode -Booting Firefox in safe mode -Checking Pc for malware(using antivirus and checking task manager for abnormalities) -Checking Firewall for abnormalities -Refreshing and deleting Cache -Reinstalling Firefox -Trying other browsers (even steam ingame launcer) -making sure extensions are disabled

Pc specs (drivers are updated as far as i know)

-Windows 10 -Intel core i7 7700k -Nvidia geforce gtx 980 -2X8Gb DDR4 3000mhz corsair vengeace RAM -Asus Z270-a Prime

I havent had these issues before and windows was completely reinstalled in November 2018 (too clogged up with useless, onetime software and too many unnecessary games),

Please help, my pc has become almost useless without gmail and maps and I would hate it to have to reinstall windows again

Thank you

Firefox crashes on startup and does the same in safe mode. I tried downloading the latest version and deleting Library Application Support files, but it does the same. It must be a user setting of some sort because I can create another Mac user account and Firefox opens fine.

This is a new machine running Mac OS 10.14.2 and I've not been able to use Firefox yet. The only terminal settings I've changed, from what I can recall, is to help with font smoothing (https://ahmadawais.com/fix-macos-mojave-font-rendering-issue/) and messing around with dark mode (option to be in dark mode but only for dock & menu bar). I'm unsure if those settings are related but thought I'd mentioned it. Other than that this is a pretty much brand new machine.
