I have noticed the the yellow message "a web page is slowing down your browser" What triggers this message in FF.

On Mac, Firefox 56 ratcheted up the security sandbox, limiting which files pages can use on your system. This apparently prevents Firefox from using font files in a "suitcase" or "Adobe Type 1" format. The developers are aware of this and some fixes were made in Firefox 57, but they might have missed some font types or unexpected font file locations.
To see whether this is the problem, and as a temporary workaround, you can reduce the sandbox security level back to what it was in Firefox 52-55 as follows:
(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Return. Click the button accepting the risk.
(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste sand and pause while the list is filtered
(3) Double-click the security.sandbox.content.level preference and change the value from 3 to 1 and click OK
That change won't take effect until the next time you quit and restart Firefox

I ran into an issue with a pop-up window that didn't want to close, and a simple google search provided the answer of abandon all open tabs and start from scratch... That's not particularly an idea I fancy!
I actually discovered a very simple solution, but I can't post it anywhere because all of the posts are archived!
The malicious pop-up was opening another window, to supposedly enter access credentials. This was keeping me from being able to close the window, and when I closed this alternate window, it would pop right back before I could do anything else. A light bulb forms!
I disabled my computers wireless connection, via the network and internet settings, and the pop-up was no longer able to restore the access credentials window. Close the malicious pop-up, and restore internet connection!
I would like to share this work-around with others that may have a similar issue, but can't find any open posts about it. Can a Mod help me out with this task?

Was forced to upgrade to version 65 which broke the tabs on bottom setting. Tried to install a ESR version but it kept crashing. Went back to version 64 which was immediately forced to upgrade to the broken version again (which I didn't allow).
The problem is this. The people who have implemented this forced upgrade feature are probably using Windows 10 (forced updating) and are used to being treated like second class citizens by Microsoft. Forced upgrading is completely inappropriate. I've used browsers since Netscape, all of the Firefox versions, rarely use any other browser. Never had a problem except with your forced updates.
Lucky for me I found the registry fix for admins to disable updates. Reasonably inconvenient but a hell of a lot better than putting up with forced updates that break the browser.
Question:
How about bringing back the choice to upgrade. How about, at least giving two reminders to upgrade and then disabling the messaging. This messaging is extremely disrespectful - i.e. we are going to keep on annoying you until you upgrade (to a broken system).

The Troubleshooting Information tab will open. o Under the Application Basics section, click on Open Folder. Your profile folder will open. Note: If you are unable to open or use Firefox, follow the instructions in Finding your profile without opening Firefox. 2. Click the Firefox menu , then click Exit. 3. I use a dual screen PC and a website that brings up a popup window to confirm an action and it always opens the popup on the primary monitor, even though my main Firefox window is open on my second screen. I've tested this on multiple PCs.
This is using Windows 10 (latest updates) with the latest Firefox.

I'd love to use Firefox on an Apple TV, even if it has to be the fifth generation 4K Apple TV or newer, since it'll certainly work very well with all the apps I use on my black 64 GB iPhone 6s Plus, and maybe an Apple Watch this Christmas of 2019. If Mozilla can make it work on Amazon Fire TV and Amazon Echo, I'm sure they can make it work on Apple TV in addition to those two Amazon devices! One of the many reasons Firefox is my much preferred web browser is that it has the most compatibility and interoperability across operating systems out there, and I'm sure it can work on more!

Both shift keys work in other browsers, other programs, etc. The right shift key works within Firefox. When I try to use the left shift key together with another key, nothing happens. For example, a capital H just won't appear and if I type "Hi" it appears as just "i". When I plug in an external keyboard, both the right and left shift keys DO work

I bought a new computer (Dell Inspirion Laptop) for my wife. I had some trouble with installing Firefox and Thunderbird. I now get a message on each program:
“Thunderbird (or Firefox) is already running but is not responding. The old Thunderbird process must be closed to open a new window.”
I also get “Thunderbird (or Firefoc) cannot be loaded. The profile may be missing or inaccessible.” I used control panel and uninstalled both programs. I also deleted the previous downloads of the program. I rebooted and went to the web site and downloaded the installation program and installed it. I keep getting the same response. Any help?

On some sites there is warning: Your connection is not secure. If i pressed "Advanced". The certificate is not trusted because the issuer certificate is unknown. After that, i choose "Add Exception" and "Get certificate". After receiving certificate, i get
- the site provides valid, verified identification".
So I can close "Add Exception" window and refresh the page. All works fine.
Another way if HSTS used. There is not chance to "Add Exception". But sometimes i just need to reload page. Or another page with the same domen load successfully.
What i tried todo:
updates certificates: sudo dpkg-reconfigure ca-certificates
remove cert file of firefox: ~/.mozilla/firefox/qrpsqrx2.default/cert9.db.
It seems to be usefull, but not a long time. So: problem still exist.
i have requested a password reset and i have not received the email

I didn't have any issue viewing my bank account before the last FF update and my account view works fine in Chrome, Edge and IE. FF 64.0.2 has also been crashing on certain sites, but most notably on some Amazon pages. is this a bug with the latest FF version?
On Linux, the save/open dialog is unresponsive and takes a while to allow me to select between open/save.
