I downloaded the latest version of Firefox and now I can't right click the mouse on a url and "open in new tab". I would not care to refresh Firefox and loose EVERYTHING I have set up with the browser. I DON"T have the issue when using Chrome. My home page is myyahoo.com and I have a ton of links which do not open in new tab. The ONLY one that does work is opening up mail with the right click and Yahoo mail opens in a new tab. Please advise how to fix this terribly annoying issue with Firefox. BTW, open in new window does work. Thank You.

I don't know how to redo my Firefox page. I don't even know the terms that are used for that page. FIrefox Page? The page I go to do a search to find a website or a video, etcetera. I just got my computer back from the shop and they changed all my settings, so now Google is the big cheese on the page. That is very, very bad. Google now is following me all over, so I can't even post to a video. I am supposed to sign in to Google? Not going to happen! I just want to see my Firefox logo in the search box like it used to be, not GOOGLE in big letters, beating their breast, like now they own me.

I already posted on this, and was getting some help, but it's not enough help. I was reading the directions on how to set up a Firefox page, and it's so complicated. I'm not a computer geek. I'm so frustrated that I can't have a computer that works anymore.

Giving directions on technical stuff is horrible. All those words are meaningless. How is anybody supposed to even know what those words mean? Why does Firefox have to be always changing all the time? Microsoft always changing. They think we're a bunch of nerds who all graduated from computer tech school or what! My computer repair guy tells me to go to the community college and take a class! Excuse me? I don't think so. I've been using a computer for 30 years. I just want to type with it and browse with it. I don't want to program it or build one or repair. Why is this Firefox program so damned complicated!

Don't you guys have an all-in-one version, an all around version? Let us answer questions to order our version we want? What's with all this technical descriptions of how to save this or move that or whatever.

My computer is running terrible, and I can't even do basic things I want to do because Google is running my life, and I just want to get them to leave me alone. I'm not interested in their bossing me around and standing at the door everytime I want to do anything. I am not signing in with Google to do anything! Not as long as I don't have to , and then I might just take the computer and trash it if Google doesn't butt out.

Latest update seems to be blocking, or not allowing Google or my Gmail. This should be even more frustrating since my Mozila account is linked to my Gmail account and all responses will go to that address.

I know the protocol. I've cleaned out my cache, several times. At fist i thought it was a problem with Google, and it may be, considering how "defensive" this browser can be sometimes, but I am able to access it in IE & Chrome, as well as Gmail, but I cannot access it with Firefox. All other sites appear to render without a problem. That said, I keep getting the error page "Secure Connection Failed."

How can I restore a previous version of Firefox? From 64.0.1 to 64.0

I have no (okay, most of us have plenty, but that's a well known and wide spread grievance) problems with Firefox 64.0 However, I upgraded to 64.0.1 a couple days ago. HUGE mistake.

First, Kaspersky warned me that Firefox was no longer able to be protected by anti-virus. That should have been a clue.

Second, when I open certain websites, Kaspersky has a wonder portal called "Safe Money". Websites entered for it should automatically open in Safe Money, which provides an additional firewall as well as enhanced encryption of any data sent AND a means to enter data without using the keyboard, to avoid key loggers. Something for the more paranoid. Like me. (But I also use NoScript... because... I'm not paranoid. Just really really cautious)

Third... and what really made me realize that Firefox 64.0.1 is malware infected... about every third search on Google redirects to a website. Specifically, to search323892.xyz, which is, of course, a malware/hijack search engine. This ONLY happens on Google searches and ONLY when using Firefox and it ONLY started after the "upgrade" to the new version of Firefox.

Now... please keep reading. Because I am kinda impatient on folks that suggest stupid obvious things that are ALREADY noted as having been done or checked.

I checked the registry. I searched on "search323892", on "search323892.xyz" and on "xyz". (which is a pain in the...) There are entries for any of them. I also checked installed programs... just in case. But the only program that has been installed in the past month is... drum roll... Firefox. I double checked to ensure the Firefox installer I used was legit. It was. Came directly form the Firefox website. And I virus checked it with Kaspersky before I used the installer. (paranoid, remember) I also checked two other browsers I use. Neither of them are affected in any way. Just Firefox. Just on Google.com. Bing searches "work" just fine. Internet Exploder works just fine. Chrome works just fine. Further , both of them correctly open my financial sites in Safe Money. Exactly as they should. It is ONLY Firefox that is completely incompatible. Oh.. and before I forget to note... I also made sure there are no addons or extensions in Mozilla for anything trying to sneak in. And... just for safety... I added that blasted site to my HOSTS file. So it pops up a "can't access this page" rather than going to their sicko site.

Going on. I've also started a FULL deep scan and will be using Malwarbytes after that. (which might be finished later tomorrow, if I am lucky.) Then I'll consider doing a safe mode rootkit and deep scan, if I must, Because those could take another day or two. However, I am relatively certain that this issue is ONLY affecting Firefox and ONLY with the recent install. Partly because I have TWO Firefox profiles. And the other profile is working just fine. But it is on a VERY old version of Firefox. Like pre "let's screw up all the best features of FireFox and force users to use crappy addons that don't work" version. You know... that one I mentioned above... pre 57.

So... finally to my two questions.

Is there something I can use to search in my Firefox profile to find where this blasted thing might be hiding? I'm 85% certain it's buried in my Firefox profile. What can I use or do to search my profile for it? (digging viruses out of the registry is easy. Sifting through a Firefox profile is like learning Aramaic. From a blind man. When you're deaf. And no one knows it.)

The 15% part thinks it is in the Firefox 64.0.1 install itself. Mainly because Kaspersky detected a SERIOUS flaw in it. And because Safe Money is not compatible with this version. And because Firefox has a rather well known history of sometimes totally screwing up their "updates". So... if there's no way to really dig through the Firefox profile for this... is there a way (you know, the feature that has been the #1 request since Version 6) of rolling back the version of Firefox to the previously installed version? (a feature every civilized software maker includes... because, hey, mistakes happen)

Thanks in advance!!

Why do you guys have two features for essentially the same purpose (saving URLs for visiting later), that don't talk to each other?

As far as I can tell, the only purpose of bookmarks is for typing the start of it into the awesome bar... and maybe edge cases like loading in the sidebar.

Aside from that, are there particular scenarios in which I should use Pocket, and others in which I should use bookmarks? How would I know which to use?

Are you thinking about merging the two eventually?

See screenshots. A detail that may or may not be related: I have disabled cache from about:config (browser.cache.disk.enable and browser.cache.memory.enable) because enabling these makes Firefox crash as soon as it is opened (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1180306).

Also this issue happens on Chrome as well, but does not happen on Microsoft Edge browser.

Things I have already tried: 1. Enable/disable hardware acceleration 2. Update gpu drivers to latest 3. Switch between the onboard gpu (Intel HD 4600) and discrete (Nvidia 840M) 4. Refresh Firefox <-- the first video on Youtube plays fine after refreshing Firefox, but after this the problem is back. 5. Disable all add-ons/try safe mode 6. Try the suggestions from Fixing common audio/video issues page (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/fix-common-audio-and-video-issues) and other related pages that I was suggested when I entered this question.

None of these solutions have worked. Appreciate any help/ideas. Thanks!

Many sites include migraine-inducing animations. It's hard to block these animations, but maybe it would be easier to run them to completion before reading the pages.

Right now, Firefox doesn't run the animations while the tabs are in the background, only when we move them to the foreground, and try to read them, and this means sites can punch users precisely when we are vulnerable to the migraine-inducing animations.

Ideally, I'd like some way to complete all time-based and scroll-position-based and exit-based animations, including sticky elements, first, so I can remove them and read the page at my leisure without getting hit by these animations. But completeling any category would help.

I am stuck in a pretty unfortunate but unique situation.

I had enabled Firefox Sync on my laptop and had the same Firefox account running on my Android phone. All was well until I enabled the two-step authentication for my Firefox Sync Account. The second step of verification was through the Google Authenticator App. I cannot find my backup codes. The sync used to work perfectly fine on both my laptop and my Android phone.

In the recent past, I bought a new Android phone and changed the existing Hard Disk Drive on my laptop to a Solid State Drive simultaneously and did not log out of my synced Firefox account on my laptop. When I try to login to my Firefox account (on my laptop or Android phone) to sync my data, the first step proceeds as expected (because I remember my password). However, the second step (verification) asks for a 6-digit code or a 10-digit recovery code. I do not have a 6-digit code since I had to setup the Google Authenticator App afresh on my new Android phone and I cannot find my 10-digit recovery code. Thus I am not being allowed to login to my Firefox account.

Alternatively, I tried to reset my Firefox account. I have no other option but to not mind losing all the bookmarks, history and related information that was synced to my Firefox account (am I right?). But I am facing an issue while trying to reset my Firefox Sync account too! I clicked on "Forgot Password" in the Firefox Sync Sign-in Page, entered my email address and clicked on the "Begin reset" button. I received an email with a "Create new password" link. I clicked on it and entered my new password and confirmed the same. Got a successful message which said "Complete set-up by entering the new password on your other Firefox devices.". When I try to sign-in with the new password, Firefox asks me for the two-step authentication again (asks for a 6-digit code from the Google Authenticator App or a 10-digit recovery code)!

This makes it impossible for me to sign in to Firefox using the same email address that I had previously used for the sync. Is this a lost cause and should I just use Firefox sync with a new email address or is there some hope for me to continue using my previous email address?
