Once or twice a day since using my new computer a couple of weeks ago, just while generally browing around the internet, virtually every page that uses 'HTTPS' suddenly stops working. Firefox claims the certificate for the sites aren't recognised and gives the SEC_ERROR_UNKNOWN_ISSUER message. Even the https://support.mozilla.org/ pages become inaccessible because they're https as well. Nothing I've come up with can fix this except restarting the machine, which fixes the issue immediately and every site starts working again.

If every https site was constantly blocked, I'd assume it was just my security software's settings and try to change them, but it's weird that the issue pops up occasionally at seemingly random times. Any ideas? An example of the error message and Advanced details is provided below. Apologies that it's not formatted quite as on the original page.

https://support.mozilla.org/1/firefox/60.0.1/WINNT/en-GB/security-error Peer's Certificate issuer is not recognised. HTTP Strict Transport Security: true HTTP Public Key Pinning: false Certificate chain:

I opened up Firefox today and almost all my bookmarks are missing. I tried restoring, but all the backups are also missing the bookmarks. I tried exporting the bookmarks to HTML. That is not working. There is only one Firefox profile. Running in safe mode did not help.

There is a crash report from April 30, 2018. Version 60.0.1(20180516032328) was installed on May 19, 2018.

I'm not able to access certain sites do to missing "Add Exception" button. I have tried all the suggestions, like modifying about:config, resetting firefox completely, and deleting appData.

1) Other browsers work fine 2) The corporate VPN or security software is probably creating certificate problems. Asking them to change is not an option 3) I don't care if the site is well-maintained or not, I need to access it. 4) I don't plan on logging into any websites or sharing any data. 5) If Firefox really can't do this, then I need to use a different browser

I don't care about security here. The sites I want to access are just public pictures and videos, and I don't plan on logging in.

An example is embedded videos from Twitter.com. I'm not able to access them.

I logged into my Firefox account succefully but however I can't sync my data. When I hover mouse pointer over my account name in the main menu the hint appears saying that the last sync was performed on the 1'st of January but nevertheless I don't see that my bookmarks, settings and extensions were synchronized. When I looked into the log (available through about:sync-log) I found the following error:

1528826421812 Sync.Resource WARN GET request to https://sync-656-us-west-2.sync.services.mozilla.com/1.5/104145959/info/collections failed: [Exception... "The connection has timed out" nsresult: "0x804b000e (NS_ERROR_NET_TIMEOUT)" location: "<unknown>" data: no] No traceback available

Can anyone help me? Why can't the browser connect to the server? I can send the full log if needed.

I installed the HotSpot Shield add-on to my Firefox browser and whenever I enable it, every website (even ones I've never been to before) show an 'Insecure Connection' page error. I have Avast Premium, but I tried disabling every feature on it, including manually unchecking the 'Enable HTTPS Scanning' option. Nothing has worked. Also, I don't have Avast's VPN feature. Likewise, whenever I toggle HotSpot Shield off, I can access websites normally.

Please help.

I used firefox to upload a 7z file into a website. Some time later I was reported the 7z file was returning CRC errors when decompressing. After downloading it from the website and comparing it against the original 7z (raw byte comparison) file I discovered a large section of the file, near the bottom, was replaced.

However the worst part is not that the file was corrupted but that the data inserted on the file contains user information. On thie section I found several strings matching all sorts of things:

  • URLs I have recently visited
  • Search bar history (searches I have recently done on google)
  • Login details saved on my firefox
  • part of pages I have recently visited

Is this a known issue? This is a big deal for me and I will stop using firefox until this is fixed.

I am using 60.0.1 (64-bit) over win8.1.

Firefox Quantum in Linux distros (tested on Debian and Mint) is refusing to open this website "https://www.mg.superesportes.com.br/". Its certificate is valid and it's not self signed like Firefox is saying. I can open it in any other browsers, and in Windows ,this problem doesn't exist.

"The owner of www.mg.superesportes.com.br has configured their website improperly. To protect your information from being stolen, Firefox has not connected to this website.

This site uses HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS) to specify that Firefox may only connect to it securely. As a result, it is not possible to add an exception for this certificate."
