Something I do at work fairly regularly is copy and paste an entire page from Chrome to MS Word, by selecting all with Ctrl+A and then pasting. When doing this in chrome, the page text, text colors, and background formatting and colors are copied. When I do the same thing in Firefox, only the plain text is copied. Is there a way to make Firefox mimic this behavior? The two screenshots I have attached demonstrate what I mean. If needed, I can provide more info, or additional screenshots!!!
Thanks in advance!

I'm confused on how multiple accounts and sync work. Basically, I want to keep my personal browser usage from going into my work laptop.
I have 3 devices: 1.) Work laptop - always for work 2.) Mobile - always for personal use 3.) Home laptop - always for personal use
To keep my browsing history separate, I plan to use 2 firefox accounts: 1.) Work laptop - always Work firefox account 2.) Mobile - always Personal firefox account 3.) Home laptop - mostly Personal firefox account but occassionally switch to Work firefox account
I assume I can browse my Work browsing history at home by logging with my Work firefox account. But when I sync, will my personal browsing history be synced to my Work account? I don't want that to happen.

Hello. How do I prevent this warning from blocking the connection to the website? I would not mind if FF would show a warning at one of the corners of the screen. But I need it to stop blocking the pages from loading. Please do not suggest me any guides how to troubleshoot certificates or anything like that. I need to switch off this function in FF completely.

When I try to browse for a file to upload, or browse for a place to download a file, my /home/username/ directory only shows standard directories like: Desktop, Downloads, Pictures, etc.
I have other subdirectories in my home file, but they do not show up. They used to, but not anymore.
This is not a permissions or ownership issue. The other subdirectories have the same permissions and ownership. Also I have tried changing permissions to 777, nothing works.

I'm using Firefox v51.0.1 on Ubuntu with 16Gb RAM and 4 cores. I have to use a custom built GStreamer based video decoder plugin and that is why I'm using v51. There are two screens each playing 4 streams each. The videos play at 30fps without any problem once displayed on browser. There is a switch button which can switch between 2 sets of 4 streams each (quad view). When the pages are switched, say for about 100-200 times, the responsiveness of the browser slows down gradually and at one point, it just stops to respond to any further clicks. When Firefox froze, CPU utilization is about 30%, RAM about 25%. I tried to modify about:config parameters, but could not figure out which are the most relevant to my use case and the optimum values to be set.
I request community's help to identify the parameter combinations in v51.0.1 that could potentially keep Firefox from slowing down. In case more information is required, I will be glad to give them, but please suggest on how to get them out of the browser.
Thank you for taking your time on this subject!

Hi,
First of all, I would like to say that I am a Firefox user since 2007 (since we are in 2019, that's 12 years). I like it and I thank all the Firefox people that worked on it.
However, about two weeks ago I have updated my system from Debian 8 to Debian 10; and with it came a new version of Firefox.
And I don't like the way this new Firefox version looks: - it's ugly - it has out of proportion line spacing in the bookmarks - it has out of proportion line spacing in the Preferences menus - it is much less visual appealing than previous versions
Nevertheless, under the hood, I don't doubt that it is more advanced and better.
I just think it's a wrong move from the people leading Firefox at the moment. Maybe they believe they have to follow the (stupid) trend that many other software houses are following: - non intuitive icons - poor use of colors - exagerated simplifying in icons design - minimalistic screen organization - menus with less options, forcing the users to edit configuration files
All this leads to the user having to "try and guess", trying to discover how things work. 20 or 10 years ago, the softwares weren't so advanced, but they were more organized and with better menus. Today, if seems the need is to build something beautiful. But that beauty soon loses it charm after 5 minutes of interaction.
This is the sensation I get from interacting with Firefox nowadays. And it extends to the support forum, with lack of tast in the design, colors, etc. Too many steps back, in my opinion.
Using Firefox now is not as good an experience like it was some years ago. We need something that works, that has good menus, that we like to see. And not being forced to like something that others think it's the present trend. Firefox is used for the internet, so it needs to be a very good tool. Stop fooling around with it, please.
Also, when I try to solve this problem using themes, I'm stumped because I find some many themes. But the problem is that they are poor quality themes. Much quantity, but poor quality. And the search function, is horrible to say the least.
Besides, I don't understand that Firefox now calls themes to simply adding an image to the menu bar. Is that really a theme? Is this really a good service? I don't think so. I think this is dumb. And steers users away.
I don't care for flowers or manga characters in my menu bar. I just want well designed folder icons and line spacing that makes sense.
Why doesn't Firefox gives the user the choice of using the previous themes? Aren't we in 2019? Something like: Menu - Tools - Themes: - Firefox 55 theme - Firefox 56 theme - Firefox 57 theme [..] - Firefox xx theme
Can you imagine how many hours are you wasting from your millions of users that use Firefox to work and would benefit of something like this?
================================================
Having said this, now I present my goal with this post: I would like to know: - how can I reduce bookmarks line spacing?
I use Firefox to work everyday. I need it to be functional. I have thousands of bookmarks and I have organized them so they fit my screen.
Right now, I am losing much time scrolling up and down within my bookmark folders, because this new version of Firefox has a bigger line spacing than the version I used before.
Please see the attached picture.
Thank you.

I lost access to my two-factor authentication app and therefore could not get into my account. I have created a new account using a different email address but I would like to use the email address (which I still have access to) associated with that account. As long as the old account exists I cannot associate that email with my new account. I cannot find any way to contact Mozilla to ask them to delete the old account (and free up that email address). Will it just get deleted eventually if I don't log into it anymore? Is there someone I can contact to close that old account? Thanks

How can I stop the "Important News" page on first launch of a new version Firefox ESR? Yes I know it only once but I want to suppress that notice/check page from opening. I have gone from version 60.9.0 to 68.2.0 I figured out the majority of the settings I needed to make in about:config using a mozilla.cfg file. Operating System: Windows 10 Browser: Firefox EST 68.2.0
What I tried: in my mozilla.cfg I added:
pref("browser.startup.homepage_override.mstone","ignore");
But that did not work. I still see the "Important News" and I see that setting in my about config. Trouble shooting this is taking time having to roll back my VM every time :(
I also set the browser to not search for updates with: lockPref("browser.search.update", false);

There are several pinned tabs when I open my Firefox.
The problem is when there is no Internet connection, these tabs are displayed as requiring network connection. However when the network is connected, these tabs are not automatically updated - they still displayed as requiring network connection. I have to refresh each one of them.
Is that my configuration has problem, or the automatically refresh tab function is missing?
Thanks wxie

Obviously, it's an old issue, but it even got worse. Mozilla removed the management of individual cookies, which makes it a nightmare to develop sites for me. Yet there was this "chrome://browser/content/preferences/cookies.xul" way to access all them cookies in firefox the old, good way. Well, actually this feature is also long gone from the main Firefox release, but it was still available in ESR version. Now, with the latest ESR version, it's gone too. It's impossible for me to understand why that happened, and frankly, i don't really care. There are no possible arguments which would make any sense. So, my question is whether it's coming back or not.
The new search bar is useless. I need the old one back, it was one of the best features of Firefox. Why is it ruined now?

I used to abuse the old search bar like there was no tomorrow. I loved it. I think it was the soul of Firefox: it made everything so cool and easy. But somebody killed it. Fixed it when there was nothing to fix.
Hope people who are working on new versions read this: people want the old one back. If you used the old search bar very often like I did, the new one behaves totally differently and thus makes using it a total pain. I have no understanding for this kind of change, especially when I cannot change it back anymore.
Can somebody please point me to a working solution of how to get the old search box back? Showoneoffbuttons tweak in about:config doesn´t work anymore, Classic theme restorer doesn´t work either. I am getting sick and tired and I need help.
Until some awesome person points me to a solution and I have showered them with praises and love (I am not being sarcastic, I am just stumped and any help is greatly appreciated), I downgrade Firefox into pre-Christ version and hope my virus program is up to the task.

I have three monitors configured to display different windows. Firefox runs on display 3 but hen I click on a toolbar, the pull-down menu shows up in my default display (display 2). Clicking on it again moves the window to the correct display.
I attached a picture of the browser showing click on "Nuance" from display 3 and of the resulting pull-down window that appears on display 2.
