Ever since the quantum update I've had issues loading YouTube pages in certain circumstances. Most pages are fine but... I use the search box in my navbar to quickly type something in and then select the website I want to search to save time. It used to work perfectly, but again, since the quantum update: about three quarters of the time when searching for YouTube, the page loads blank except for the header bar. So the YouTube icon and search box are present, but the remainder of the page is completely blank.

And just recently I decided I'd try that free trial of YouTube Red and went to the only page to access that: youtube.com/red. Same deal except it's every time, I cannot get the page to load the content. I've tried disabling any add on that has anything to do with page content. I've cleared cache data and cookies. I've reinstalled. Nothing has worked. I searched around and found others with similar issues but theirs always got solved by clearing cache data or disabling add ons. Mine persist.

I decided to give Firefox 59 another try (59.0.3). Even in the most recent update, drop down menus on many sites do not function properly. I can open them, but they do not stay open. I cleared the history and cache, but the problem persists. I am beyond annoyed at this, because everything works PERFECTLY in Firefox 56. I get tired of being told my browser is out of date, but if they can't fix something simple like drop down menu operation, then I will keep using an outdated browser.

I want to know WHY this is happening. Nothing changed except the browser 'upgrade'. I am on Mac OS 10.13.4, with a Magic Mouse. It does seem that it will work properly with a USB mouse, but I should not have to go back to ancient cowboy technology to have my web browser work correctly. I like my wireless mouse and it alone should not be causing this problem. If anyone has any ideas as to WHY this is happening, your input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Popped out a new window in the background when I highlighted some text.

1. Every time JavaScript is used to pop-up a new tab or window, an icon should be made available to report the site for unwanted pop-ups. The site could be added to a blacklist. The blacklist should be downloaded in whole rather than queried on Firefox servers for privacy (Mozilla does care about privacy doesn't it?).

2. If a site is on the blacklist and it tries to pop-up a tab/window then the popup could be blocked and same icon could highlight for say 10 seconds. Clicking the icon in this case would give the options to open the popup, white-list the page for the user, vote against the blacklist. Something like:

[ ] Show the blocked page. [ ] White-list this site for me. [ ] I don't think this site should be blacklisted

[ OK ] [Cancel]

Some fuzzy logic could perhaps be used to determine whether or not to keep sites on the blacklist. Sites with very large amounts of blacklisting+white-listing could be manually looked at.

Also: I don't ever want anything happening when I highlight text other than the text being high-lighted, it's not necessary and it completely ruins the browsing experience. No excuses, it's bad. Add a white-list if necessary for the 0.01% edge cases where this might be useful.

I have no idea WHAT they changed in quantum that makes it do this, but it's made the browser 4x slower rather than their advertised 2x faster.

So all the previous questions and solutions for this problem suggest it's addons and probably the users fault for the slowness of quantum. However I disagree Firefox 56, with all the same addons runs perfectly fine continuously with multiple tabs open, and my normal usage for extended periods of time, when switching tabs, minimizing, etc.

Firefox Quantum with all the same addons does not, after extended time periods it slows down extremely, when switching tabs, minimizing, etc. This includes the nightly, the beta, and the developer version, which I tried all three of because THEY had been suggested to fix the problem as well. I even attempted the about:memory "solution" which did absolutely nothing. I want a solution and/or a Fix, other than my current which is having uninstalled quantum completely and reverted to 56 version, I would LIKE quantum to work.

set up a new hotspot, which is done partly by http://attmywifi - OK, DNS capture, set the parameters, fine.

then, on restart, EVEN THOUGH I set firefox to ALWAYS start at BLANK - new instances of firefox somehow autoload a registration page set up by the wifi access point.

How do I block this? That is, how do I arrange the firefox always starts on blank page in spite of any random state some DNS hack or the like injected into it?

In Firefox 56.0.2 and before, it is really easy to copy texts and drag pictures (and save them) simply by moving across your finger on the screen; a simple double touch on a word on the box of google translate selects it and gives you the meaning of that word; rearranging the tabs also can happen by moving them with your finger.

None of the above no longer works in the new versions of Firefox (Firefox Quantum). I tried to find add-ons to make touch experience with Firefox Quantum less bothersome but to no avail. I'm trying to stick to the Firefox 56 but it keeps updating (although I have disable the automatic update), so for now I need to uninstall and reinstall older versions of Firefox every few days.

I would greatly appreciate it if somebody can help me solve this problem.

56 I had everything the way I liked it now it looks terrible and I've lost everything I had customised about 56. I hate having the tabs at the top of the screen isn't it possible to have them directly above the webpages and below the web address? What about the File/edit/etc menu how do I get that back? What about the custom toolbars I had like bookmarks and the one at the bottom of the screen for all the extensions I had?

I think I will just quit and use Chrome. Being able to customise Firefox was its selling point for me.

Whenever I use print preview in Firefox, I end up printing 4 copies of each page automatically. I saw a couple of other topics about this, but they didn't resolve my issue. I couldn't find a preset option in the print dialogue (I'm guessing that's the page which comes up when I do print preview, or select print from the three lines menu on the top right of the browser?), and it's not one of the printer settings (it also doesn't happen on other browsers; only on Firefox). And I'm not sure where to find the option to change this in about:config. I'd appreciate any help with this.

. In the 3-4 months, I’ve now tried 7 times to update. Yes, I can do the update, but after that update, nothing works. Clicking on home page, links, tools, etc., nothing happens. Absolutely nothing. I’ve tried both Quantum for 34 bit and 64 bit. I’ve disabled all security and tried again. Nothing works. I tried in ‘safe mode’, nope. Nothing happens. I’ve given up as each time I’ve had to do a system restore.

1st, I'm using Fx 52.8.0 ESR in Linux. I've created custom search engine plugins before, but http://mycroftproject.com/submitos.html - with a template to create a plugin & "test it" has changed some terms, requirements on their site (it seems).

In fact, the plugin - used from Fx search bar, brings an empty DDG page (even allowing scripts, cookies). Something the Mycroftproject template accepted is obviously not right.

I created one for DuckDuckGo using 8 or 10 custom parameters from DDG's "customize settings" page. Mycroft Project has lots of custom DDG plugins already posted, but I'd like to learn how to do it quickly for numerous sites.

I used "show full instructions." Under Search URL, I entered the domain & the custom parameters: https://duckduckgo.com/?kn=1 [example is shortened]. Other than using a script - I stored somewhere - to open the archive, ~/.mozilla/firefox/{profile name}/search.json.mozlz4, I don't see a way to check if a search plugin is using the correct parameters.

Plugin created on MycroftProject isn't working: If I do a DDG search from the search bar, the results page is blank (not even an empty search box). Can someone post a link to a complete example for DDG, that uses complete sentences & actual values, unless DDG or the Mycroft plugin creator wants symbolic entries like "{searchTerms}?"

If I open a DDG page using the bookmark w/ parameters - that DDG created, then a search from their search box works. It's apparently not what OpenSearch wants.

Either way, opening a DDG page with their bookmark, if I click their settings link, that page opens showing all default parameters, not my custom ones that are showing in the URL bar.

• • Isn't there an easier way to see the parameters used - especially if the plugin DOES work?

Another issue: When creating the plugin, http://mycroftproject.com/submitos.html showed an error: "No {searchTerms} parameter found. (case sensitive)" Where (all) are they expecting that? After all custom parameters? Are they wanting the actual symbolic {searchTerms} - entered where? Read several sites about using the Mycroft template - I decided to enter "{searchTerms}" under "Post Parameters." It shut up, but the plugin didn't work.

Note: One DDG, parameters like kn=1, are the same for Get or Post method, except the parameter instructing to use Get or Post. I'm not sure what they want under Post Parameters. DDG supports Post.

Image not used: Mycroft plugin creator asked for an image or icon. Mentioned 16x16 - maybe for an icon, but I uploaded a 16x16 png. When plugin is created, it uses Mycroft's site icon, not the DDG I uploaded. Maybe it wants images w/o square backgrounds?

so I have yet to upgrade my browser due to the lack of add-on support with quantum.

I need my googlebar to be installed with the new updated version. Is there any way around this or a hack of some sort that can enable this? The standard Firefox search just wont cut it and googlebar is/was the only bar that actually did everything I needed it to.

Can someone please make this addon compatible with the new build? Please!?!?

I've been trying to get the LastPass version of login name and password to work on a specific site, but it keeps autofilling the old login name.

I've done everything that I know including clearing the saved passwords list, etc. but it stubbornly keeps showing up. Where is this stored and how can I remove a single entry without having to completely wipe out my history/forms etc.?

My version of firefox is all in a foreign language. half of the text is "Tim ber i pong kabedo man" and "Pwail mo pe kiyero". settings tab is labeled "Gin ayera"! for pete sakes! at this rate Gin ayera gonna drive me to Gin and Juice!
