Started happening today (7/22/2015)--after re-opening Firefox this afternoon, I could not log in to Yahoo, G-mail, and some other password-protected accounts. Fortunately, I could access those accounts in Chrome. I do not have browsers save passwords. I always type them in manually. How can I access these accounts in Chrome and not Firefox? Javascript or what? The whole Flash issue is also annoying. I'm using other browsers more and more. Please fix, or I'll forget using Firefox entirely.

Basically a lot of websites wont work on my firefox with windows 10, such as google, youtube, twitter and facebook, the error i get is:

This Connection is Untrusted

You have asked Firefox to connect securely to www.youtube.com, but we can't confirm that your connection is secure.

Normally, when you try to connect securely, sites will present trusted identification to prove that you are going to the right place. However, this site's identity can't be verified. What Should I Do?

If you usually connect to this site without problems, this error could mean that someone is trying to impersonate the site, and you shouldn't continue.

This site uses HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS) to specify that Firefox only connect to it securely. As a result, it is not possible to add an exception for this certificate.

Using firefox 39.0.3 now. I have edited the hosts file to redirect "ajax.googleapis.com" to my local machine(127.0.0.1). When I visit the site, firefox tells me this site uses HSTS, and cannot add an exception.

So I need a way to disable this feature to make my visit available.

I have tried following steps, but failed: Set "network.stricttransportsecurity.preloadlist" to false in about:config page. Forget all pages contains "ajax.googleapis.com" from the history window. Restart the firefox.

I have created a number of galleries with LR and then inserted them in existing web pages in my web site. While the galleries work fine in both Chrome and IE, there is a problem with the Firefox browser. Thumbnails show fine but when enlarging the photo it is cropped and thus only part of it is shown. I have tried inserting the gallery using both an Iframe and as an object/embed, same result, fine in Chrome and IE but individual photos cropped in Firefox.

Any solution to this?

Hi. Im using Win 7, FF 39, and FB. When I first load FB using FF, the mouse doesnt show as a spinning circle. (ie busy doing something) The second I click on a picture, video or simply anything, I get the spinning circle. Like its trying to do something. But its not. The page loads fine and I can click on anything. This does not happen when I use FF and visit other pages on the net. I have tried every one of the fixes people have suggested on other areas here. Please help me.

Under "Tools", "Options" used to be a pop-up window which was useful for me as I have a short-term memory disorder but you changed it to a separate page and when I go to look up a password I don't always remember the URL; have to close out of the security section; go back and write down the URL; go back to the "Options" page; open the security section; click on passwords; and look for the URL. Before all I had to do was look up to see the URL and continue to look on the pop-up window.

I'd like to know the reason for the change as nothing was added to the "Tools" menu.

Java Deployment Toolkit

FF has blocked Flashplayer and Java. I have updated both to latest versions BUT Java Deployment Toolkit 8.0.510.16 11.51.2.16 is still blocked and cannot be activated (or apparently updated). The option "ask to activate" is selected but does not do anything. "You cannot UNINSTALL this program because: Why I am not able to run the Java Uninstall tool and the Java verification applet? The Java Uninstall Tool and the Java verification applet uses the Java DT to do Java version detection on the user system. If Java DT is blocked by browser (like Firefox) than these applets will not run. In order to run these applets the user will have to permit Java DT to run in browsers." https://www.java.com/en/download/faq/deployment_toolkit.xml

So, there is a Catch 22. It needs to run itself to uninstall but it can't. How can this be resolved?

As an additional comment - flash and Java run in MS IE - which is considered less secure. Mozilla are forcing people to use an inferior product. Best Regards, Chris

Some time recently, Facebook started displaying in text-only list form. (I use Facebook infrequently, so can't say with which version of Firefox this started [I'm now using 39]).

The same thing happens when I try to go to Facebook with IE. There, however, I have a message at the bottom: "Internet Explorer blocked this website from displaying content with security certificate errors." If I click the "Show content" button beside that message, Facebook appears correctly for the remainder of that session, then reverts to the text-only form the next time I try to go there.

For info: (1) I type "http://www.facebook.com", which gets converted to "https ..." (2) I'm not having this problem anywhere else.

Help, please.

When I start Firefox, over half the time the bookmarks toolbar does not load. Even right-clicking on the toolbar gives no joy as the bookmarks toolbar option is not available when it does not load by itself. There is blue space there under the menu bar, but it is blank. I have to close Firefox and restart it, sometimes two or three times, to get the bookmarks toolbar to load or show with the browser. I run fully updated Windows 7 Home Premium, and use Avast antivirus. I have tried disabling the Avast, and all the add-ons, but it makes no difference. Closing the browser and restarting it with the computer still running, or closing the browser and restarting the browser after restarting the computer makes no difference. I have run a complete antivirus and several antimalware scans and ran CCleaner in case it was junk causing it. Makes no difference. The only way to fix it is to close and restart Firefox until it decides to load/show the bookmarks toolbar. That works, but it sure is annoying.

When I open a new tab I have it set to go to About:Blank. About:Blank used to display 8 of my selected tabs, but now it is only showing 4, the top 4. I thought at first this was a new update or something and there were only 4 now, but then I dragged a new tab from my bookmark menu onto the About:Blank page and it showed my other 4 pinned tabs. If I drag a bookmarked page into one of the "Ghost slots" it simply sends me to that page. I'm not sure if it's just a glitch for my computer or a real problem. Any help is much appreciated.
