Firefox won't open. I have rebooted to no avail. I have killed it in Task Manager, uninstalled it, deleted the folder and tried to reinstall. At about 70% of the way through the installation, it pauses and there is a message saying that the installer is not responding. The installation panel then disappears. If I try to run it then, the behaviour is the same as it was to begin with, not opening but registering in the Task Manager.

Have used Firefox for several years. Today I was forced to upgrade to Skype 7.1. Immediately after the installation of Skype, Firefox would no longer connect to the internet or load web pages (tab says "Connecting..." forever). Other applications and browsers work fine and there's no interruption to PC internet connectivity. After about 2-3 minutes of this, Firefox will crash if left alone.

After that, firefox.exe remains as a process and can never be ended. I try "End Process" and "End Process Tree" in Task Manager without success.

Firefox remains as a task in Task Manager forever, even when the browser window appears closed. If I try to re-open Firefox from there, I get the error "Firefox is already running but is not responding". When I click "Close Firefox", I get a new error message that says "Your Firefox profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible". After I "OK" out of that, I can't do anything but re-start the computer to get rid of firefox.exe from Task Manager...and then the cycle repeats.

Not sure if Skype is to blame as Firefox also updated itself today. I blame Skype because it was doing the same weird hanging in Task Manager without ever closing until I disabled video processing in Skype (and because of the suspicious timing).

I've tried clean re-installs, running Firefox with add-ons disabled, and re-installing Skype as well. Same behavior in all cases.

Any suggestions? Note that I'm submitting this from a different machine.

This may sound like a stupid ?, but it makes sense tome. Telling me to download something else, in my eyes is not REALLY solving the problem.

Hi,

I am no longer able to see images on some websites. I have followed all suggested : reset firefox, restarted in safe mode - no difference, clear cash and cookies, tried auto:config suggestions etc...no help. Some images show up others don't.
All except one add-on shows up to date and that one I have downloaded but still will not show correctly. This is the information I get below. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you Melina

Problems with Google taking over the browsing when I browse on Firefox's line

I have checked that the settings are as they should be as to your suggestion, and it doesn't solve the problem with Google taking over the browsing, I 'm afraid.

If I can I should like to remove Google permanently from my mac. I find it a bit difficult because I can't see the icon anywhere, which I find very strange. I have tried to seach in finder and elsewhere. I'll try to follow the instructions from a fellow on Youtube and see if I can manage. Can you help?

Hi everyone,

So since I updated to Firefox 36 now I'm having an issue with the Flash player, the videos are now flashing all the time its absolutely not watchable, even when the video is not playing, the whole flash player is flashing, the image comes and goes. Check the attached gif to have a better idea of what is happening. http://postimg.org/image/64bqap01x/

However when I toggle fullscreen then everything is fine, the image stays

I have the latest Firefox update 36.0.4 and the latest Flash plugin 17.0.0.134, before the updtae to FF 36 everything was fine. I am on windows vista.

Any clues on where this issue comes from?

Thanks

Following the recent update to Firefox 36.0.4, I can not use Flickr, either when logged on to Flickr or when not logged in. When I click on a photograph, instead of having the picture enlarged, I get the following error message: "Error - Something went wrong. Click "OK" to reload the page, or "Cancel" if you want to continue to browse the page (you won't be able to perform any actions, however)."

The problem does not occur using Internet Explorer.

I am on Windows 7 Home Premium, but there were no changes to the computer before the problem with Firefox and Flickr started.

Mozilla Firefox updated to version 36.0. When I click on the Firefox icon to open it I receive the message: "Mozilla cannot find runtime" I receive the same message if I try to open Firefox by selecting "firefox.exe" from within the Program Files. I subsequently uninstall Mozilla Firefox and reinstall it. It will open and run normally right after the re-installation. Then if I close the program and try to re-open it again, I get the same "Mozilla cannot find runtime" error message.

The only way I can get Firefox to open is if I uninstall and re-install it every time I want to open it after the initial re-installation.
