Got message there was an update for Firefox. Manually clicked on it. After restarting the computer (as directed) I clicked on the Firefox short cut icon and the desktop froze. Alt/control/delete did not function--nothing functioned so forced the laptop to turn off by holding the power button down until it did so. Waited a few minutes and then turned it on, the monitor never came up--just stayed black. After a second attempt the computer turns on, lights on keyboard come on, but monitor remains black. No problems before attempting to update Firefox.
I am writing this on my Mac, as not way to use the PC with a black monitor.

Why not check that and not bother folks who have the latest browser version for the latest operating system for their hardware? If I had an extra $2000, believe me, I would get a new Mac.

I go on to Facebook, it says Foxfire (version 30.0) is out of Date. I go to use Hulu or Crackle and again it says Foxfire is out of Date. I go to mozilla Support at the top, left side of the screen it says, "Your Foxfire is out of date and may contain a security risk".
While in Foxfire to check which version is on my Desktop PC by clicking on Help then scroll down to ABOUT Foxfire it says: 30.0 Foxfire IS up to date.
I do use Google Chrome however my TomTom GPS will NOT allow me to upload maps on Chrome but works fine with Foxfire.
Also a problem, Google's GMail will NOT allow me to open any of my E Mails on Foxfire. So am I using the latest version of Foxfire or not.
IF I am NOT using the latest of version of Foxfire please provide the link for the correct download.

I need to get this to show in my system and I have not been able to get it to happen. Is there an override or something that I need to do when I update, because the system doesn't want to do it.

I've restarted my computer, and still the problems are there. It's strange since not only has my whole history been wiped, but when I try to add things back to the bookmarks again, nothing happens. I click on the "bookmark this page" and literally nothing happens. It's also not saving any of my history at all, even though in the Privacy preferences page everything is fine (Remember History is showing, as is History and Boookmarks). Help!?

Why is my Gmail not accepting it ?? I use Windows XP. I have no other issues, though MS has stopped support for that OS. Kindly help me out as I found out that it works for others who have XP.

I've re-downloaded multiple times, changed to Foxfire default online AND on my control panel setting etc and each time i open Foxfire it acts like I never downloaded anything or that it ever WAS made default. It did permit me to make my Comcast acct. as home site. I am so fed up with Chrome, don't trust Internet Exp. anymore and had so hoped that returning to Mozilla Foxfire would be the answer to my woes.
Needless to say, I'm not much of a techie, and I sure do wish I hadn't gone from Foxfire to Chrome in the first place! : ( Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

Cannot access the settings as shown in google help. Everything worked correctly last week. Everything works correctly in google chrome. Everything works correctly on Internet Explorer.
Trying to upgrade 3.6.28 to 27, imported bookmarks, Library view shows all folders in proper sequence, but 99% are not in Toolbar view at all.

Jscher and Cor-el tried to help me a few years back w/o success. Trying again to upgrade from 3.6 (XP) to 27 (Win7). Exported from 3.6 as HTML file (also have json), and imported into 27. Last time, I never 'found' most of my bookmarks in FF 27. Especially not the folders. This time, I tried Library View and it appears everything is there, folders, subs, in sequence etc. BUT ... unlike in 3.6.28, I can still only see the contents of one folder in the right pane at a time.
I can't work like that.
SO ... maybe, I can access ALL my bookmarks some other way (not via Library)? Via a toolbar perhaps? But for some reason, the collection in the toolbar doesn't remotely resemble the organized collection I see in the Library. Virtually no folders, and in chaotic order. Many missing it appears. If the contents from the Library were mirrored in the Toolbar (using AIOS), I'd be good to go. Is this what I should expect? What more can I try? Thanks!!!

Why does FF call out to the IP address 72.21.91.19? I found that the IP is part of Edgecast and seemed to be possibly related to FF live bookmarks and/or the latest headline live book mark.
But FF is still trying to go to that IP even after the live bookmark was removed. It tries to do this every 15 minutes and sometimes more often.
Currently I am blocking that IP with my firewall. This seems to be a privacy & security problem. But I have not found a way to completely block live bookmarks. This ONLY happens if FF is open and happens regardless of what site the browser is or has been visiting.
This is an older system and FF ver 3.6.28 ( it's a good old stable W2k OS system). FF is using NoScript, Ghostery, & ADP. The system passes all virus checks, including Malware Bytes and Super AntiSpyware.
