When I click on a link for a google search, I get the "Secure Connection Failed" error in Firefox. It states, "Please contact the server administrator or email correspondent and give them the following information: Your certificate contains the same serial number as another certificate issued by the certificate authority."

I have followed the instructions here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Certificate%20contains%20the%20same%20serial%20number%20as%20another%20certificate and looked at this article: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1028103?esab=a&as=aaq

I have uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox, deleted the entire profiles folder, and reset Firefox. I see that the older (orphaned) article points to my router. However, I have a new router and have updated its software. There is no button to add an exception (as noted in the article), so I can't just bypass it. This problem does not occur with IE, so I have a hard time believing it is my router.

How do I troubleshoot this issue? I really don't want to change browsers.

Hi!

Until now, I had some very specific options for my "new tab" window. Using "about:config" (in place of the URL), I had set "browser.newtabpage.columns" and "browser.newtabpage.rows" to 6, and then I had selected particular websites to have an easy shortcut to them on the "new tab" thumbnail.

It worked very fine until today. Now, even though I never made any change, the "new tab" window shows only 4 columns and 3 rows of tiles. These tiles still contain the same website as usual, but obviously I can't access so some of them, since I had more than 12.

FURTHERMORE, in, the "about:config" window, "browser.newtabpage.columns" and "browser.newtabpage.rows" are STILL set to 6. Of course, I tried to change them to something else, but it doesn't work either. Firefox just completely ignores my configuration!

What should I do to get back my usual tools? Thank you already for your answers!

More informations: I'm on Windows 7 and I don't have any addon on Firefox.

Hello, my parents just bought a new computer and I am helping them to set it up. Right now their biggest concern is that when Firefox closes and is reopened, the session from last time is automatically restored. They are worried about privacy concerns in case they're logged in shopping or on their email.

I am using Windows 8.1 and Firefox 33.0.2

Firefox is currently set in the options to "Show my homepage" when it starts. I found this link https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/975670 and followed the directions there, including setting browser.sessionstore.resume_from_crash. in the config files to false, but I've still had no luck. A search shows that I do not have a "user.js" file in the Firefox profile that might be causing the problem, so that solution isn't working for me.

I also used this page http://kb.mozillazine.org/Browser.sessionstore.enabled to check my "browser.startup.page" and it is currently set to 1 "Show my Homepage."

I'm out of ideas and would appreciate any help anyone could offer.

Thanks!

It's odd it only keeps popping up (caret browsing) when I use the Google search engine of which I like to use as my primary search enging and does not happen when I use other search engines such as Yahoo, Bing and so on. "I just want to disable it for good". I have tried everything I know, went into the about config page and changed the browsing features to false and it still do not disable it along with other steps to try to permanently disable it and it still comes back. I have Firefox version 33 with Windows 7. ANY help with this annoying feature would be appreciated, Thank you....

Good Morning,

I recently downloaded Mozilla Firefox, but the website "language" were in Korean. Since I sort of know how to read Korean, I managed to go to the Menu --> Setting then changed the language from Korean to English. The browser itself is in English now, but for some reason when I go to the menu section everything is still in Korean. How would I resolve this situation. I checked my Windows language setting and it is set for English. Any suggestions?

Various websites display numerous images available for download. Some of those images are animated GIF files. These files take time to load and chew up a lot of my limited upload/download usage. IE Explorer let me see a single image for the GIF but doesn't load or play the GIF. How do I get that same setting in Mozilla Fire Fox?

I migrated to Firefox to get an uncluttered homepage and have been very happy until now. However since today, when I open Firefox, the usual Firefox symbol changes to a poorly defined Firefox symbol, with a banner 'Click Me'. If I do this just four letters appear, nothing further. Also a robotic figure appears with an invitation to get the Humble Mozilla bundle and play on. I have tried resetting the homepage but it reverts to the unwanted one on restart.

Is this a Mozilla change or is has the page been hi-jacked.

I have an Aple Mac running OS X 10.6.8 with F-Secure security software.

Sometime recently FF stopped displaying the button images on some websites. They show as a square with 4 digit hex code inside.

I did clear everything in the history, started with add-ons disabled and also in safe mode, none of these solutions helped. My setting gfx.downloadable_fonts.enabled is set to true.

This issue has existed with firefox for as long as I can remember. If I start up firefox on any computer then log into that computer from another using remote desktop the firefox window displays as nothing by a big black box. There are not controls, menus, or even an x to close it. It can be closed by right clicking on the taskbar and choosing close window. Now if I start firefox while logged in from remote desktop it works just fine. Even if I disconnect and reconnect it will still display correctly. The problem only occurs if firefox is launched from the computer then I remote in. The open webpages, tabs, ect do not matter as I can restore the previous session just fine. Some of the computer have no addons installed so that rules those out as a possible cause.

Is there any solution to this? It's usually not a big deal as it usually only involves one computer but occasionally like today I had to reboot every system on my network and load up firefox to do some stuff then remote into those systems just now only to have to restart firefox on every one.

Combination of problems started recently (about a month ago I guess), at the same time: 1. Embedded videos won't play (eg. Facebook, CNN). I can hear audio but the picture is black with occasional flickers of the video 2. I'm experiencing a lag when I type. Applies when I'm searching, writing web addresses, and when I'm filling out forms like this one 3. When I type in the search or address box of Firefox I see a blue rectangle where I'm typing.

I uninstalled and re-installed Firefox, no difference. I'm running Windows 7 on a Dell XPS 15Z, 64-bit. Using Avast anti-virus, and Adblocker Plus (I disabled that, didn't make a difference). Can't think of anything that happened at the same time these problems started, eg. I didn't (knowingly) install any new software

I have confirmed my options are set to open Google as my homepage, but after restarting, Firefox opens to the last open tab instead. A previous, now archived, thread shared this answer: Try opening the user.js file. For me, it only had one line, which was user_pref("browser.sessionstore.resume_session_once", true);. Once I deleted the file, everything went back to normal. However, I can't figure out where that user.js file is and I've tried searching for it to no avail. Help is appreciated. Thank you.
