Hi

I'm using latest firefox version with and recently I'm facing this strange issue ... everytime I try to visit youtube, to be specific, when not logged in on any google accounts .. I can visit http://www.youtube.com but when I try to login, in which case it redirects to https:// and It shows the following error(check image url):

https://imageshack.com/i/ezbe0c53j

And if I try to add exception, it shows this screen(check image url):

https://imageshack.com/i/hj41802cj

(PS: Couldn't find upload option here so I had to use otherimage hosts)

Also I tried changing windows time, adding auto time sync from windows site and also tried changing profile, disabling add on and testing and also tried removing cache/cookies from both google.com and youtube.com and so far nothing worked ... I can't seem to access youtube while logged in (https)

Also its only youtube, no other website shows this security certificate error!

please provide a solution to this asap, thanks!

I have thumb buttons on my mouse. Most people refer to them as mouse4 and mouse5. Currently one of them functions as a "back" button in the browser. I use this button for something else in another program, and I want to disable this function in firefox.

Please advise me on how to disable this function in firefox. It would be nice if you could customize these mouse shortcuts.

I need to get firefox to accept a java plugin to print to my dymo labeler in Amazon seller "scan and label"

Amazon support told me to download java 7 which I did and it did not work, then I was told to go into the java settings under the "Advanced" tab and enable "Mozilla family" for "Default java for browsers" Every time I try to do this this setting will not save and I think that the firefox browser is stopping it.

Amazon support also says that after doing this I should be able to go to firefox add-ins and I will see it under plugins and I cannot.

I think that firefox is blocking this. Is there a way to unblock this?

MAJOR BUG: Firefox ignores the hosts file

PROBLEM:

Firefox ignores the presence of the hosts file, never using it to resolve a URL. Even if the name appears in the hosts file and has been entered correctly, Firefox uses it as a search term in the default search engine. Assuming that Firefox developers browse the web, they know about this problem and have willfully and negligently—and perhaps maliciously—ignored it for at least eight years.

SCOPE OF THE PROBLEM:

This is a problem with Firefox, not the local computer. This is Firefox's behavior in OS X and in Windows, thus also in IIS and Apache. It does not happen in Safari. Therefore the problem is Firefox. The operating system, the web server, the entries in the hosts file, and the user's typing skills are not the cause.

WHY THIS IS A PROBLEM:

Anyone using virtual hosting on their local computer for web development cannot test their sites with Firefox. Viewing a web site in the file system causes the links in the site to go to the computer's root, not the site's root. Viewing the web site with the computer's IP address cannot possibly work, because all of the virtual hosts have the same IP address, which is the whole point of virtual hosting.

The only way that virtual hosting can work is if the virtual hosts have different names. Firefox disables this major feature of IIS, Apache, and any other web server that might exist.

Firefox must not disable features of the web server.

RESOLUTION:

Repair Firefox code so that it attempts to resolve the name BOTH on the web and in the hosts file before using the URL as a search term in the default search engine. After all this time, there is no excuse for not fixing it now.

However, when I get into Firefox V30.0 and go to Add-Ins Manager, it's not listed. I've tried uninstalling the add-in from "Add and Remove Programs" from Control Panel and install it again. I've tried uninstalling Firefox and downloading a new copy and then installing Adobe Flash Player again. I've re-booted my computer numerous times. Nothing works.

Previous screen is a form for searching and the results returned. Clicking on a "more info" button moves to the next screen and shows more info. The "back" button will not return to the previous screen, giving the message, "document no longer available".

Firefox is standard vanilla install. All other major browsers return properly to the previous screen. If this cannot be corrected, we will be forced to abandon FIrefox and recommend to our 46,000 customers to move to another browser, especially when using our website.

To duplicate this problem, go to www.mybfl.com/search.php, search for a book, and when displayed, click on the 'More Info' button. Clicking on the Firefox "back" button illustrates the problem.

be able to do this or similar in firefox

If your printer is Cloud Ready, follow your manufacturer's provided instructions or see setting up your Cloud Ready printer.

To connect your classic printer, enable the Google Cloud Print connector on any (non-Chrome OS) computer that is already connected to your printer and able to print. You'll need Google Chrome to be installed on the computer. If you're using Windows XP, make sure you also have the Windows XP Service Pack 3 (SP3) installed.

Once Google Chrome is installed, follow the steps below to enable the Google Cloud Print connector in Google Chrome.

Log in to your user account on the Windows, Mac, or Linux computer.
   Open Google Chrome.
Click the Chrome menu Chrome menu on the browser toolbar.
   Select Settings.
Click the Show advanced settings link.
Scroll down to the “Google Cloud Print” section. Click Manage.
The next screen will show a list of devices already registered with Google Cloud Print, and new devices available on the network.
In the "Classic printers" section, click Add printers.
You'll see a confirmation that Google Cloud Print has been enabled. Click Manage your printers to learn more.

The printer is now associated with your Google Account and connected to Google Cloud Print. You can print to this printer using Google Cloud Print whenever you’re signed in with the same Google Account.

They also have "This website does not supply Identity Information" if you hover over the fav icon (where padlock should be.

The Technical Details are in Firefox 3.0 windows 8.1 "websiteaddresss" uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate is not trusted because no issuer chain was provided. (Error code: sec_error_unknown_issuer)"

In IE 11 Windows 8.1 There's no error but also no padlock or security info at all

In Windows 7 there's just no padlock and the same hover over message

Google chrome in windows 8.1 shows every thing as being OK and secure and viewing security info Shows "the identity of this website has been verified by USERTrust High-Assurance Secure Server CA but it does not have public audit records."

Please Don't Suggest Installing Certificates on my system I cant have every potential visitor to these sites doing this.

So is this a Bug in firefox 30 or windows 8.1 or with the actual certificate or cert providers ? If with providers then what do they need to do in order for it to work without errors in any browser ?

Starting this week (and I'm not sure what happened except perhaps my updating to the latest version of Firefox), I can no longer watch videos on Netflix using Firefox on my Windows 7 PC.

I am using Firefox 30.0 and Silverlight 5.1.30214.0 and under Add-ons I have Silverlight set at Always Activate. I also deleted cache and cookies since I saw that as a troubleshooting option.

The most unusual thing is, I am not getting any error message, just a WHITE blank screen. When I click on a movie on Netflix.com to watch it, it brings up a blank white screen with a teeny little gray square centered at the top of the screen, and the most bizarre part is that the AUDIO of the movie works...so I HEAR everything, but see nothing. I have tried several different tv shows and movies and this happens for all.

Meanwhile, on the same PC, at the same time, I am still able to watch movies on Netflix using Internet Explorer (I have version 10-something). But I prefer Firefox. Hoping someone can help solve this mystery!
