When I try to save some documents off of a website, the PDF comes up but the words and numbers are missing. Example: When I go to Comcast and I try to save the bill from the website to my computer, then try to open it, the PDF opens and there's no error box but the words and numbers don't show up. However, if I go to a State website and save a document, the document opens with no problem and the words and numbers DO show up in the PDF.

I double checked and everything is update. I am using Firefox 22.0 and my Adobe is up to date as well.

PLEASE HELP!!!!

Firefox recently updated to version 22 and since then the font has increased in size and I can no longer fit the page onto my screen. Before the update there was no problem seeing all the page. My laptop is an Acer Aspire 1825 running Windows 7. I have checked the screen resolution on the desktop and this is the same as it has always been, it only appears to affect Firefox, Internet Explorer appears to be normal.

Steps to reproduce:

This issue is sporadic on starting Firefox and I cannot determine any pattern to reproduce the problem...sometimes it persists, other times there is no issue

Actual results:

On starting Firefox the entire location bar is greyed-out. All windows work but it is impossible to enter a URL, only follow links.

It is possible to Ctrl+A the URL and paste into, say, Notepad, but you cannot paste into the location bar, delete or alter it. This applies to all tabs including new (Ctrl+T) tabs. However, a new window (Ctrl+N) opens and the location bar then works properly. On-page fields work as well, so you can navigate say by going to Google and entering the URL into the on-page input field and following the link provided and I can get to Google via the bookmarkes toolbar which leads to the next issue...

The bookmarks and navigation bar can simply not appear; you open Fx and it's in something like a locked-down popped window format with no nav or bookmark toolbars. They are enabled in the View menu, but are not visible, and switching them off and on again does not help things.

Often closing down FF/Fx and restarting the machine cures the issue(s), but sometimes it's necessary to Ctrl+N and drag your remembered tabs to the new window to get back to a workable browser.

This has happened through numerous FF/Fx versions and is on Win 7 fully patched. It is NOT related to the specific version of Firefox.

Expected results:

It would be nice just to have a consistent working browser. There seems no rhyme nor reason to this. One time everything is fine. Close down the machine, restart, opend Fx and look an unusable location bar. Restart and it may go...or it may not in which case Ctrl+N, drag yours tabs over to the new working window and ditech the non-working window. Very frustrating....

I use bookmarks a lot, but i don't like them crowding up my bookmark bar so i cut & paste them to a folder on my desktop, but when i right click a bookmark and Cut it, then paste it into my folder it pastes it there but its still in my bookmarks, in the old version of Firefox when I Cut a bookmark and pasted it on my desktop it removed the bookmark from my browser, why doesn't Firefox do that anymore? or is there a setting that i can configure to make it do that again because its annoying to cut & paste a bookmark then go back into my browser and delete it when it shouldn't even be there in the first place. CUT MEANS TO MOVE THE OBJECT ENTIRELY COPY REPLICATES THE OBJECT KEEPING ONE IN THE ORIGINAL POSITION AND THE SECOND IN A DIFFERENT POSITION.

I have account from a previous attempt. On device one, I go to set up sync. I answer I have an account [attempt to reset the account resulted in "email address already in use" error]. Device 1 shows three pair a device codes.

Device 2: I go to the Firefox home page. I choose sync at the bottom, and enter the three codes on device number 2. I then answer that I have an account, enter my user name and password, and am asked for a recovery key which is to be found under sync options on device one. It is not: all I have are the options for what data is to be migrated [and I checked all].

How do I complete the sync procedure?

browser.newtab.url http://www.google.com
browser.newtabpage.blocked  {"xsb8/hukHPKDa0yLA+g3aw==":1}
browser.newtabpage.columns 3
browser.newtabpage.enabled true
browser.newtabpage.rows 3

It should be set so when I press the + bar, it opens up a new tab with the Google Home Page. It worked forever.....then one day firefox got corrupted and reverted back to day 1. I restored my profile but the ONLY thing that didnt come back the way it should have was the new tab going to Google.

Can someone assist me on this please....

I've been browsing these forms for days, and have tried every suggestion available in order to counter the constant (as in, "every time I click on a link or pull open a browser") hanging that I'm getting with FF.

This is a brand new, work-issued computer with precious little running on its system. Firefox, when loaded, hangs on every page. Every one. It's true that Flash-heavy pages and Twitter are worse than simple home pages and the like, but just getting through the relatively mild Mozilla forums came with freeze after freeze. As some have noted, the browser never crashes, it just freezes -- and my issues seem much worse than other posters' problems.

Because I'm not dealing with this problem with a bunch of tabs open, or after the browser has been open for a while. I've reset, re-installed, and restarted in Safe Mode. Nothing. I thought it was a Flash problem, initially, so I uninstalled that, re-installed older versions, and ended up reinstalling the newest versions. I've tried all the help tricks, like the hardware acceleration.

I can't stand Chrome, and don't want to use it, but I can't even browse on this browser, much less use it for work. This laptop was sent to me by my employers, a fairly massive internet behemoth, and I don't really want to send it back to them with a browser complaint, with them knowing that (to them, at least) a perfectly good browser alternative in Chrome is loaded in and ready to go.

Just writing this out has this hanging. Just adding the Troubleshooting Information has this hanging. I've been using Firefox for a decade now, and this is ridiculous. Please help.

Whenever I try to watch any video on youtube, it will not load more than a few seconds at a time. It will stop and stutter and lag for several minutes before it continues to load. This was not the case as little as 3 months ago. I have update flash and my computer and internet speeds have not changed. Even pausing the video and waiting will not usually allow it to load past about 3 to 10 seconds.

Ever since updating Firefox/Mac to v.22, the built-in Firefox PDF viewer won't open PDFs. Any PDF link automatically downloads the file.

I've set the Applications control for PDFs to "Preview in Firefox". I've also reset the mimeTypes.rdf file, but none of this has helped. The files download to my HD. Firefox won't open PDFs on its own. I've had to resort to installing the Shubert plugin to get PDFs to display. It works, but I'd rather get Firefox's native reader to work.

Is there, perhaps, a setting under about:config that might need changed? I don't have to enable Java, do I?

Firefox 22/Mac OSX 10.6.8

Thanks.

Without changing any settings anywhere else on my pc, i have logged into Firefox and everything is massively zoomed in, just as if the desktop resolution had been changed. I've tried using the about:config (layout.css.devPixelsPerPx;-1.0 - i changed but it doesn't restore it to what it was) settings but it just makes it worse. I can't get it back to what it was. I've tried resetting firefox but that hasn't helped at all. What has happened? I can't use firefox like this.

Closed Firefox to update Adobe Flash. When restarted, all bookmarks were gone, and could not be restored from backup, imported (from .json file, .html file nor Google Chrome) or even manually added. The skin was also deactivated, but, at least, it could be reactivated manually. As for the bookmarks, all bookmark-related functionality has ceased to function, and all data seems either lost or unreadable. Browser history was unaffected, but tab groups were mashed up into one. Tried restarting Firefox, restarting PC, reinstalling Firefox, replacing all Firefox files with backup, etc. Nothing is working. Nine years of bookmarks are at stake and I really don't want to migrate to Google Chrome. Is there a way to fix this?

I was having problems yesterday getting into the iTunes store. Because of that problem I have updated Quick Time, Java, iTunes, and Windows. I still can't get into the iTunes store, but I noticed that Firefox looked different on the website than it does on my pc. I decided to update. Nothing changed. I then uninstalled and reinstalled the product, but it still looks the same. What do I need to do? Also, when I tried to download iTunes through Firefox it would not let me. I ended up using Chrome to download the iTunes software, but never got through to the iTunes store.

I've been using Firefox as my default browser for at least 8 years (after switching over from Netscape Navigator). I've never had any problems before, and I love Firefox! Per your info., I've assumed that FF automatically updates to the latest version (it's always been set in my Preferences to do that). But after I got up to Version 10.0, it apparently stopped doing that! When I would check the version, it would say "You are on the update release version" (paraphrase) and then the "checking for updates" circle would just spin.

Three days ago (June 28, 2013), I tried to go to what I assumed was a trusted site (Obama's Organizing for Action) (from a link on an e-mail notice), and I got a notice that FF considered this an untrusted site(?) The next day (June 29, 2013), I tried to reach another trusted site (via Google), the California Lifeline site (phone company), and I got the same "untrusted site" notice(!)

At this point, I decided to see if my FF was up to date. I checked info. on your site and found out that the latest version was 22.0! (Why wasn't it updated for all the versions after 10.0?!) So I downloaded the latest version. When I opened the new version, FF was terribly slow!! It takes forever to load websites or to switch between sites, or to do just about anything! THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE! I've read many articles on what could be wrong and how to potentially fix it, but I'd rather start here! Please help as soon as possible! Thanks much in advance!

I received an email that for all accounts, at first, seemed like it was only a phishing email. One problem. They sent it to a name/email combination that I ONLY used once-- with my Capitol One Credit Card account. In the body they also cited our complete address (the one used for our Capitol One account). I went to Capitol One, and sure enough they had charged my card 3 times in the previous week. Capitol One said they didn't hack my account with them. Mozilla Firefox is the ONLY browser I use with that account, so the only other possibility is Firefox.
