-Has been happening for months now with many attempts to pinpoint cause. Have come to the conclusion that it is Firefox but don't understand why. -When using Firefox, my entire PC, not just Firefox, will freeze. Sometimes it happens within the first 5min of using Firefox, other times it could happen an hour into a session. A hard restart is the only way to get back to my desktop as I have waited an hour before after a freeze and nothing happens. Mouse pointer won't move, nothing. -Initially thought it was a hardware issue or an anti-virus issue. -Reinstalled windows on three different hard drives that all pass the disk check. Still happens -Installed windows 8 to see if that would fix the problem. Nope, does the same thing on Windows 8. -Ran Memtest 86+ for 14 hours one night to see if it was my memory. Nope, zero memory errors found -To be sure I even tried only using one stick of ram in my PC at a time to see if any of the sticks were bad. Nope, it froze with every stick -Tried changing my anti-virus. It froze with every single one, AVG Free, Avast Free, Microsoft Security Essentials. -I figured out that my PC only freezes when I am browsing the web in firefox. If I use chrome or Internet explorer, it doesn't happen. These total PC freezes only happen when I am using firefox. -My only add on/plug in that I am using is Adblock plus besides the default ones that come with Firefox. -My firefox is up to date, I have reset it and reinstalled it [while only adding Ad Block +] and this still does not fix the problem -In the windows event log the only thing that happens every time my PC freezes is the Error "Session "Microsoft Security Client OOBE" stopped due to the following error: 0xC000000D", why this would only affect Firefox, I don't know. -I would like to figure out the cause of this because I would really like to use Firefox again.

Turned on Firefox this afternoon to find all text rendering about 30% too big. Icons in tabs and on bookmark bar are too big, as well. If I press Ctrl+- twice, then it looks normal, but Ctrl+0 sets everything to abnormally large again. Gmail in particular looks wrong no matter what I set the zoom to, as if the UI is too big but the text is too small.
I have no idea what's going on. Restarting Firefox multiple times didn't help. Disabling every addon and plugin didn't help.

"Firefox support is a relatively recent addition to Adobe Reader, since version 10.1.4. Therefore, even though you may have had Adobe Reader installed for a long time, you may need to install a new version to gain the Firefox support. You may also find that you need to enable the Adobe add-on within Firefox. To enable the Adobe add-on in Firefox, select Tools->Add-ons->Plugins, then in plug-ins list, find the item beginning Adobe Acrobat NPAPI Plug-in and click the Enable button."
When I go to Firefox, select Tools->Add-ons->Plugins, this plugin is not there. So, where can I get it?

I am trying to deploy Firefox on staff machines at my work.
We are using Windows 7 on them and want to be able to have extensions available for all users on that machine.
However, after much research it seems that all the prior solutions for this problem have been restricted or removed.
There should be an easy way to have addOns installed for all users. Its not feasable to make every single user install every single addOn one by one.

Yesterday all of a sudden my webpages and UI appeared to be magnified. While I can zoom out on websites, I cannot find any option to adjust the size of the UI.
I noticed that Firefox 22 (which I am running) has a new feature: "Windows: Firefox now follows display scaling options to render text larger on high-res displays". Is it possible to adjust how Firefox responds to the display scaling options perhaps?

All of a sudden (and around the last update, if memory serves, but I'm not entirely sure it exactly coincides with that) my bookmarks toolbar no longer shows any bookmarks. Instead there is a "Bookmarks" button (icon: white star on gray rectangle background) on the left hand side of the bookmarks toolbar. When I click that button, a menu opens in which all my bookmarks are present as usual, including a "Bookmarks Toolbar" folder with the usual bookmarks still in it. In other words, the organization of my bookmarks is unchanged and they're all still there, but the bookmarks toolbar no longer shows the bookmarks in the "Bookmarks Toolbar" folder in my bookmarks menu.
Trying to drag bookmarks back onto the bookmarks folder doesn't work either.

When I visit this site:http://www.apolloarchive.com/apollo_gallery.html I can no longer see the image thumbnails when I click on the image IDs. I contacted the site owner, and he said it worked for FF on his computer, but I'm afraid my javascript isn't working here. I did everything, cleared the cookies, ran Safe Mode, checked options- though i may have goofed. And I'm almost sure javascript is enabled here. I have Win XP. I don't want to check another browser; if the problem is here than it needs fixing. I'm waiting more word from the site owner, but I tried everything he suggested. So what do I do? Do I download another Javascript?

After several minutes on a webpage that uses Shockwave, the page will crash and the browser will freeze. Then I get an error message saying a plugin has stopped working and asks if I want to continue or stop the plugin. I have been unable to get the page to startworking again. It requires me to quit Firefox and restart the browser.

Please can someone help me !! I have a McAfee site advisor that has stopped working but contacting their support hasn't helped and neither has paying a computer technician. I have uninstalled and reinstalled at least twice but to no avail, there are no ticks when trying to view a potential website so I don't know whether it's safe or not and the site advisor in the bottom right hand corner of my screen shows a constant grey that's if it's there at all. I'm tearing my hair out in frustration so if anyone could help me fix this I will be forever grateful. Please bear in mind I'm not that computer savvy so if any solution you could provide put it in step by step form. Thank you.

This is a strange problem that I have only encountered on a few sites; it is consistently happening on a specific game website (quakelive.com).
Anyway, I have my password for my account saved. When I log in, though, the Firefox does not auto-fill the login or password fields. If I enter the login, it still does not auto-fill the password field. I know that Firefox knows the password, because if I enter the wrong one (as I frequently do), I get a pop-up with something like "Would you like to update the saved password on...?" Well, no, Mr. Firefox, I wouldn't like to update it, but I *would* like you to fill it in if you know it (which you do).
I've checked and double-checked all of the basics in the other articles; I am fairly confident that all of my password and security settings are correct. I rarely have problems on other sites, though I do recall it happening elsewhere before (quakelive seems to be the primary culprit here, and it may be a specific issue with that site). I can always go into the password manager and find it, but that sort of defeats the purpose.
Any ideas?

Despite clearing history, setting remember history to never, etc., still Firefox remembers my history in the tabs when I open a new tab. It shows certain sites. This is clearly in direct opposition to the clear history settings I have obviously selected, violating my privacy.
Aside from the cognitive dissonance of a browser that is supposed to be secure being completely insecure, and people not having stopped using it entirely, I assume either someone knows how to turn off tab history, or people are naively using Firefox thinking it is a secure browser.
If the first is the case, and people do know how to turn off tab history, I would like a clear explanation of how to do that, something not only a technical geek could understand.
Why is Firefox configured to use a proxy server on my computer ?

Flash plugin detected but not working (Firefox 22 on Linux)

Hi all,
I can't get the flash plugin to work. It's installed, detected in about:plugins, but when I visit adobes's test page at http://www.adobe.com/fr/shockwave/welcome/ , I just get the usual " you need a plugin to view this content" thing.
This happenned since I migrated from Mageia 1 to Mageia 2, and still doesn't work on Mageia 3, which uses Firefox 17 ESR. I then downloaded and installed Firefox 22 directly from Mozilla, still with no luck. I've reset my profile, tried to use an empty profile, tried disabling all add-ons, still no luck.
about:plugins displays this:
File : libflashplayer.so Path : /opt/firefox/browser/plugins/libflashplayer.so Version : 11,2,202,297 State : Enabled Shockwave Flash 11.2 r202
This is the most up-to-date flash version available from Adobe.
Another thing is that this machine is a 32 bits install, on an Athlon XP 3000+ with a Radeon X1650 graphics card. Surprisingly, on another machine, using the same distro but with a 64 bits install, Flash works well.
I'm out of ideas now, so any hint would be welcome. Thank you.
