hey, I update my laptop windows, after updates when it restarted I have signed in to my account but bookmarks wasn't recovered. It was totally gone. I want my bookmarks back it is really important to me.

I recently installed Firefox for security reasons, but I now realize it might be not better than other browsers... I had a (good) number of tabs opened in 12 Simple Tab Groups, which were opening all right everytime I restarted my computer. But today, Firefox opened and oh, all my tabs have disappeared ! All 12 Simple Tab Groups are empty. In the Recently Closed Tabs in History, I only could find and reopen 26 tabs - a very small part of the tabs I had... Please, tell me if there is a solution to recover all my tabs. Is the problem with Firefox or with the Simple Tab extension?

bold textI am trying to restore bookmarks in Mozilla from a stored bookmark.html file. When I go to manage bookmarks and choose restore then choose file, it does not show any files. Please advise

firefox updated to 128 esr all of a sudden (i didn't click update or download for this) and when i went to open firefox, the appearance and everything changed. it looked like google chrome and none of my bookmarks and settings and layouts were there. they just DISAPPEARED. i tried googling how to to fix this and for some reason every time i search it takes me to another search engine instead of google. (this is beside the main point though). I'm so frustrated right now since all my bookmarks are gone (literally having a breakdown). I tried looking through the help articles and all of them just say to use the backup profiles or that there are bookmarkbackup files in my profile folders or that firefox would download a folder with files from the old version but none of that happened. I looked into my folders for older profiles trying to find places.sqlite files but NOTHING. there is literally NO backups or profiles dated to before July 16 2025; the day it updated (shown in screenshot) and there is NO bookmarkbackup files anywhere. i have signed in to firefox prior and had my devices synced for awhile and no issues so there should have been previous profiles and data saved onto my computer. Please help, I really need my bookmarks back!

Yesterday I got a prompt saying there was an update available for download. Today when restarting my laptop and opening Firefox ALL of my bookmarks are missing!!! My bookmark toolbar is also empty. Where did all of this important stuff go? Please help me restore this my information asap. I am freaking out!

Hey, So I just updated my Mozilla with the latest update and after I restarted my laptop all my bookmarks, history and favourites are gone. I didn't do any backups manually. It's few hundred important work-related links lost. What actually happened? Can I get them back? Please help.

Hi. While clearing my browser history the other night some of my bookmarks also got deleted. I understand once browser history is deleted it cannot be recovered, but is there any way a deleted bookmark can be recovered?

I don't know what you're doing but EVERYTIME I do an update lately, something goes wrong. Today after update, my STGs are affected and ALL ARE GONE. I do NOT believe this is their fault. And you put this dang auto Startpage when launching window, I did NOT ask for that. I am so pissed, how do I get them all back? I had things I was working on that were very important. What else did you add to FF that I don't know about? I don't want your updates anymore. You screwed me big time. And I don't want the extensions YOU think I should have: Google, eBay, Bing, etc. wasting my space. I'm not the only one either, seen lots of complaints.

HOW DO I GET THOSE TABS BACK??????

Attempted to update FF using the 140.2.0esr.msi file. During install it asked for a location of bookmarks (seemed off, like a new install) so the process was stopped. All FF profile files appeared to have been untouched based on their dates. So the following directories: \AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\oeg1ubpo.default-esr \AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\oeg1ubpo.default-esr where both copied to a secondary directory as a safety precaution. Install was restarted and it appears to have again installed a new version with no bookmarks, extensions or password DB carried forward from the previous install, which is not what I wanted.

Can this be corrected, by moving the copied profile back in.

hi firefox, today i get an update of firefox, after updating my browser my all the saved bookmarks, history and my login details are wiped out. kindly check this why is it happened and resolve this thing. the data saved in browser is important for me, help me to recover it

100% of my bookmarks have disappeared. I tried backing up to older version a month ago and still no bookmarks were found. I had over 2000 bookmarks. any suggestions?? Marty

all bookmarks have disappeared along with my passwords. how do I get them back? previous answers haven't helped. before that, I would have trouble playing video and audio together, if I turned the audio off the video would work then when I turned the audio back on the video stopped. I am about ready to delete Firefox and use another browser.

I'm writing because I’ve encountered an issue with the tab groups feature in Firefox.

Some time ago, after a browser update, I noticed a new feature that allowed me to group tabs thematically — I could name each group (e.g., "Study", "Work"), choose a color for it, and save and close groups to reopen them later. I found it very useful and used it a lot.

Last night, I decided to declutter my browser and closed several tab groups using the built-in menu. A bit later, I shut down my computer, but perhaps too quickly. This morning, when I turned my computer back on, Firefox was very slow to start. After a restart, everything seemed to work fine again, and the open tabs were restored.

However, all my previously saved (but temporarily closed) tab groups disappeared. In the tab group menu, I can now only see the ones currently open. I’ve searched through all the settings and history but cannot find any way to restore the missing groups.

Is there any way to recover the tab groups that I had previously saved and closed?

I just closed FF (latest version) and opened it again and all my tabs are gone. I had a private FF window open, so I am guessing this is the cause.

Is there a way to get get them back?
