A few days back somebody, more than likely one of my kids set a master password in my Firefox browser. Now I can't log into any of my bill pay sights or anything else, as it keeps asking me for a master password that nobody seems to know what is. Is there a way to clear that? If so how? I would rather not totally blow it away and start over.

Can anyone point me to the firefox version 28 exe file fore windows?

I can find this link " https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/ " but it lists a number for version 28s (28.0, .0b1/2/3.../9) and the sub-directories there are a mess of stuff that I have no idea where to go and what to get.

Thanks in advance.

P.S. I updated to 29 and the GUI change is too much for me, so I installed a really old version of ff and am looking to update back to 28 until I feel like I want to adjust to 29.

Had heard a report on this and I had the same problem immediately after updating to latest version.

I have about 50 live bookmarks on my bookmarks bar and they all stopped working. They don't load - even manually - they don't show any headlines at all: all empty as if they all died.

Needless to say this is a major pain in the neck and hopefully it has a fix or at least workaround...

I am unable to upgrade past Firefox 3.6 because an application we use does not appear to work properly any any newer version. The application is CA Service Manager and is based on JavaScript. The pages display properly, but none of the links in the pages seem to work. When I click on a link, nothing happens. I have tried restarting in safe mode and resetting the profile, but neither of those helped any. Is this just a setting I need to change?

Every time I try to play a YouTube video or a streaming song on Grooveshark, on Firefox, the sound is very choppy. It stutters and sounds similar to the way your voice sounds if you are speaking through the rotating blades of an electric fan.

The problem began shortly after I disabled the Paging File (swap file) on Windows XP Professional (due to a nearly full hard drive). After freeing up some space on my hard drive, I re-enabled the paging file, but the problem persists.

Here are some troubleshooting steps that I attempted:

1) Ran Firefox in Safe Mode

2) Went to Control Panel-->Flash Player-->Advance-->Delete All Browsing Data and Settings

3) Cleared Cached Web Content in Firefox

4) Troubleshooting Information-->Reset Firefox

5) Uninstalled Firefox as directed by Mozilla (deleted Program Files-->Mozilla Firefox folder, then re-downloaded and reinstalled Firefox)

The sound is fine when listening to these websites in Internet Explorer, so the problem does not appear to be hardware-related. It is specific to Firefox.

Whenever I turn off my PC or restart, all my tabs from last session are gone and am back at the homepage.

There is no restore previous session option at bottom. The "restore previous session" in History is greyed out. I have "Show my windows and tabs from last time" selected. The "Don't load tabs until selected" Option is not ticked. I have deleted the sessionstore files like some suggested.

I've scowered so many pages looking for an answer and no luck. Please help.

EDIT: I think the problem may be related to the fact whenever I shut down my PC the History is cleared from my PC.

Keep all the possible solutions coming. One's bound to work.

I think only if the java exists in plugins, the website can get the jvm and run.

it seems it is ok if I install a jdk which will create a plugin in plugins, and the extension can't be used.

I have followed the directions on restoring my profile to a new location (new computer) explicitly and it's not working. None of my bookmarks or history are being restored. It appears that entirely new folders that did not exist in my June 25 backup file now exist. When I pasted the information, I was not asked to replace any files.

I have a separate backup in an Acronis file that looks more like the original installation I have on this new computer in the newly created profile. But that doesn't work either.

Can someone help me? This is more than 5 years of bookmarks I stand to lose if this won't work. Also all my passwords will be lost. This is a serious problem for me. I also have multiple add-ons I use all the time

Thank you.

Today, when I double-clicked the Mozilla Firefox icon, the window popped up for one second and then the next instant moment it suddenly disappeared. I cannot access Firefox, not even in Safe Mode, Compatibility Mode, Run As Administrator or any other modes. Tried re-installation, did not work. I do not get any crash message, it simply quits by itself. Firefox.exe appears in the Task Manager when I double-click it in Windows Explorer, and it disappears when the window disappears, the next instant moment. I have Windows 7 Professional 64-bit. Never encountered this sort of problem before.

There is no crash report, the crash window does not pop up, thus no crash report is generated. I cannot access the Troubleshooting Information, as I cannot operate from inside Firefox.

I was using Firefox 13, and also Sandboxie. I kept a sandboxed Firefox browser open all of the time. If I clicked in a link in an email, the link would be opened in the open, sandboxed Firefox browser. I updated to Firefox 14. I no longer could click on a link in an email and have the web page open in the sandboxed Firefox browser. Instead, it ignored the sandboxed browser and opened a normal browser. This defeats the purpose of the easy security measure I was using. Is there any way to make a clicked link in an email open in a sandboxed Firefox 14 browser, rather than ignoring it and opening the link in a normal, not-sandboxed Firefox browser? In the meantime, I uninstalled Firefox 14 and reinstalled Firefox 13, and I can once again open a link in an email directly into an open, sandboxed Firefox browser, v. 13.
