Firefox isn't helping much because it uses too many processes and memory. i tried deleting some extensions, I tried using task manager to close separate processes but i always end closing the wrong one and closing firefox completely i tried going to dom.ipc.processCount and change the count to 1. I'm so confused, it's slowing down my games i play.

I just downloaded the new Mac Ventura update, and when I opened Firefox all my previous tabs opened up, but my Toolbar completely disappeared, as in there is an empty space for it, and they show when I click on Bookmarks, but not on the actual browser window. The same thing happened with my Add-on extensions, all disappeared, and they're not even showing in my library. When I tried to download them again online, every single one gave me a red error message "An unexpected error occurred during installation." Please advise what's going on and/or how I can fix this to get my normal browser back. Thanks

Hello,

Yes, indeed, another occurrence of this everlasting request.

I don't want to see the word 'userchrome.css' or 'addon' at all in any of the answers that might be provided.

The question is: when will it be finally possible to have an option in the settings so the user can choose to have the tabs bar BELOW the bookmarks bar. After so many years and so many requests from so many people, how is it possible we have never been heard ?

How to officially raise a complaint / request to the teams taking this kind of decisions ?

Thank you.

I honestly don't now which topic this belongs in. Today I have had Google asking to sign in when I go to a login page of some websites. I am not logged into Google on this computer. I do not have Chrome installed.

Windows10, Firefox browser, Qwant search engine. Autofill options are off. I deleted Google from the search engine options. I have cleared all history several times today and still had this happen.

Ii know some websites offer logging in with another account such a Google, FaceBook, Twitter, etc. but I don't recall seeing this pop-up before, and I didn't look at it, really. I just closed it because it was in my way. I probably wouldn't have thought anything of it except I was setting up an account and they sent me an email telling me I asked to change my email address and would no longer be able to log in with that email address.

I've seen a few other complaints about Google asking to sign into websites on Firefox and they seem ridiculous, but it appears something may be going on. Does anybody know why this would be happening? Is there anything I should look at in about:config?

WHERE IS MY BOOKMARKS TOOLBAR??? Every time I update Firefox (now 109), I end up with all kinds of problems! NOW, I can't see my bookmark toolbar. All the help articles tells me how to show it or how to bookmark a page, which I already did multiple times. But this issue is never solved. If I can't get this resolved, I'm going to MS Edge.

Does anyone know how to configure Firefox to stop the annoying google log-in pop-up? I've seen others ask the same question, but I have not seen any functional answers. I've never had a google account, for anything. I don't get the pop-up with other browsers, like Falcon or Brave. It's just a problem on Firefox. I appreciate you help!

Using option "Restart with addon disabled" from about:profiles can make the mousewheel scrolling work, but manually disabled all addon and restart just won't solve it.

Dear all,

Pretty much the same as mentioned here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1299343

The video in that link explains it.

The menu bar keeps appearing/disappearing at a high frequency, randomly - and a key press will stop the glitch for a few seconds - or when firefox is not in focus. Tried cleaning, removing, without pluggins, setting the ui.key.menuAccessKeyFocuses etc etc. Now running the Beta, still same problem. For a while I suspected iCue and Corsair Strafe keyboard - or USB settings, ports, but nothing obvious. Also weird only Firefox suffers from it in that case.

The weird thing is it can go ok for 4-5 hours but then the next day it's back again - once in this state it's unusable.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Best,

Alex

I tweaked my Firefox configs to get better font rendering because I hate how "skinny" they are by default on windows. The options changed are:

  • gfx.font_rendering.cleartype_params.rendering_mode to 5
  • gfx.font_rendering.cleartype_params.force_gdi_classic_for_families to ""
  • gfx.font_rendering.cleartype_params.enhanced_contrast to 100
  • gfx.font_rendering.cleartype_params.cleartype_level to 100
  • gfx.font_rendering.cleartype_params.pixel_structure to 1
  • gfx.webrender.quality.force-subpixel-aa-where-possible to true

After the update, the fonts are default again, and no matter how much I change the configs, it doesn't change anything.

I am on a Mac M1 and up to a month ago I was using the latest version of Firefox (regular) and the last few weeks it had this issue and when I switched to Firefox Dev Edition it went away until today.

The issue is defined as when I right click on a link it left clicks and right clicks on the link at the same time. (It loads the page I clicked on and also triggers the context menu)

I have no themes, no extensions.

Anyone have any idea how to fix this? It's not happening in Safari or Chrome (both latest versions) and it took me years to finally migrate to Firefox and would hate to go back.

Thanks in advance!

Using Firefox Developers edition since the update to 109.0b3 (64-bit). The scroll wheel doesn't work, the mouse button I have mapped to the back button no longer works. If I launch Firefox in troubleshooting mode everything goes back to normal and the mouse performs perfectly in troubleshooting mode. Back in normal mode I have tried disabling all three of my extensions and the problem persists. Mouse performs perfectly in every other application. Sounds like a bug, but I can't find anyway to report it. Any ideas? Thanks

So, I'm a designer and UX Designer, and recently I installed Ubuntu and Firefox Developer. If you're a UX Designer you probably know about Figma.

The problem is that Figma uses the Alt key to show the distances between objects. But Firefox activates the Menu Bar every time I press it.

Can I remove the Firefox menu bar Alt shortcut?
