Accessing mail.yahoo.com as I have for many years, recently many functions do not work in Yahoo mail with Windows 10. Cannot select a message, cannot reply or forward, cannot go back to messages clicking the "back" arrow, cannot select the settings button. Yahoo mail works correctly in Chrome however. How to fix??

This should sound familiar.... It's copied from a 2 year old thread on the FF boards. I cleared the cache and flushed all my cookies. I removed my recently added addon (Malware Bytes). Problem still there.

Hi Firefox community,

Do we have any settings in firefox where we can enable/disable dark mode in firefox browser instead of installing a plugin or addon? I am looking something that is offered within the browser instead of a plugin.

Thank you all.

We have our downloads set to a network location, and ask to save in location. We have needed to apply the fix I found in a forum by going to about:config, browser.download.improvements_to_download_panel and change value from true to false.

However, when even going to a PDF on the internet, it is automatically saving to the network location. Can this be changed?

Thank you! Nicole

Firefox 105 update corrupts places.sqlite

Auto-updated to v105 today (105.0.2 64-bit Windows 10) and all bookmarks were gone. Not just gone but the bookmark manager seems not to be rendering properly (see attached image where there should be at least some elements drawn). Additionally, neither the bookmarks nor history left pane show anything (second attachment).

The 105 update was applied this morning when first opening the browser. Profile folder -> bookmarkbackups shows a backup from just before the update. Bookmark library -> Restore gives that backup as an option, but restoring that backup has no effect (does nothing).

Exiting Firefox and manually moving places.sqlite to a backup location and then restarting also has no effect. places.sqlite is rebuilt but library -> restore still has no effect.

Resurrecting a firefox "device" and profile/session after reinstall

I'm reinstalling Windows on my computer after a hardware issue, and I do have a backup of my old data. I was using Firefox Sync, where this "device" was called "Firefox Maison".

When I reinstall firefox on my new computer, how do I make it a continuation of the former "device"/session, rather than it being registered as a new device with the same "Firefox Maison" name ? I sent tabs from another device to "Firefox Maison" while the computer is kaput, and Ideally I would wish these tabs to appear on my new Firefox when the operation is finished - if this particular thing can't be done that's not the most important, but I think it helps understanding what kind of continuation I want to do. The restoration of my (normal) open tabs would be much more important, for example.

I managed to do that when a very similar issue happened to me some months ago, but it was clanky with appdata files, and I feared corrupting my sync session in some way, and/or losing data, so if anyone has a more reliable walkthrough, that would be ideal.

I am suddenly unable to access websites, some of which I've viewed for years, like Facebook and my email, for Pete's sake. What is going on? I'm told there's a security risk and there's nothing I can do. What has changed. This is distressing in the extreme. I have put virus protection in place, and use a VPN, so I feel reasonably secure in my online work. Something has changed at Firefox, what the heck is it, and how do I correct it?

Hi, I had to recover my computer so I was re-downloading firefox and it looked as though I was missing some bookmarks so I clicked import -> restore and restored from today, only now I only have 11 bookmarks left out of thousands and I can't figure out how or where to restore them. I don't have any backup info on this computer since I had to wipe it completely but now it seems as though whatever sync I used has been overwritten or disrupted. My bookmarks are really important to me and I really need them back, is there anything I can do to restore them?

What has Firefox upgraded in security setting that is blocking so many of my websites, including many that surely are harmless, like Pinterest. Have those sites been hacked, is my account compromised, what's going on? I'm not a computer whiz, so I can't follow these lengthy suggestions about which I understand not a bit.

Hi, I tried to update my Firefox Accounts secondary email, but I got the error message This email was already confirmed by another user." That does not seem likely, as no one else has access to my secondary email account. Obviously, there's something I don't grasp here. How do I fix this?
