Firefox Community Forum

There are a couple car forums that have a thread called “Create a Quick Thread”. It appears near the top of the thread listings & is there for convenience.

However most times this thread is opened automatically when I access the forum & opens a text box which in turn I have to close. This started happening about a year ago & I thought it was a forum problem but no one else seems to have the problem. Not the end of the world but the box takes up the height of a full screen & is a PITA to keep closing something I never wanted opened.

I tried the MS Edge browser & a Chromebook & neither automatically opened that line so I’m presuming it’s a FF issue.

If I close out of the forum but keep FF open & go back into the forum, the Quick Thread does not automatically open. IOW FF must be remembering to not open it. I wish it always remembered not to open it. I cannot find any FF setting that would control this behavior.

Any suggestions on how to stop this thread from automatically opening?

Attached is a screen shot showing MS Edge (Bottom left), Chrome (Middle), and Firefox (Top RIght) As one will notice, the lower two has symbol on left side where as Firefox does not. It would be nice to have a symbol/Logo on the left site to make it easier to identify in a screen full of different browsers. It should be done for brand recognition. I use different browsers depending on what I need to do.

I use Firefox for many years, no problems. But recently I got fake websites with www.maccabi4u.co.il and PayPal. What is wrong? I downloaded Chrome and it does not happen.

Ever since accepting the trial program for extra cookie protection a few days ago my computer has been crashing and/or running very slow. How do I remove this test program and restore my computer to the way it was?

If I press the Escape key three times, it obscures the screen for a second and then rebuilds the frame, so I guess it reloads the page? The attached picture shows my Youtube start page - as you can see, it's just the frame itself but not the scroll bar, so it's about the page, not the whole firefox window itself.

If I press Escape four times, firefox closes the current tab and opens a new one with my start page loaded.

What the Eff is happening here? That can't be a feature, can it? Has anybody experienced anything similar and can point me in the right direction?

I use Firefox as my default browser on my windows 10 pc. Why is it I am constantly having to verify my laptop with CAPTCHA nonsense??? I clear my cookies etc all the time. When I used MS Edge - never had this issue.

Also, why don't you have chat support? Email responses is rediculous and should be only used as a confirmation to a chat session. When are you getting live chat support?

What changed with Firefox that the security certificates for IJR.com and westernjournal.com are no longer recognized as being valid? See the example response image that I am getting. I use Thunderbird as my email client. I am getting the results shown in the uploaded image whenever I click on a link to an article from the email displayed in Firefox. Up until today (6/16/2022), I never had this problem.

Despite clearing my cookies and cache, going through every step on [this web page|https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-and-diagnose-firefox-problems#w_check-browser-internals], and trying multiple different Netflix profiles, I cannot seem to get Netflix to load any content on Firefox. This problem seems to have cropped up over the last few days; I last used Netflix on June 11th and had no problems, but tried last night and again this morning to watch anything only to find that it would invariably show me a red loading wheel before presenting me with error code F7111-1105 after several minutes. This seems to be an issue with Firefox on my PC, as I have tried using the Netflix mobile app and (reluctantly) installing Chrome on my PC to test things out -- both had no problems -- yet I'm stumped! Again, I have gone through every option presented by the troubleshooting page; I have refreshed and reinstalled Firefox, made a new Firefox profile and tried it out with no extensions, scanned my PC thoroughly (with no issues presented), and nothing seems to budge.

I was having problems with my email and was looking more closely at those settings as well as firefox/ deleted cache, cookies , etc. 5 months ago my email was hacked so I am being extra cautious....

I just discovered there are many items listed that say to save the application. I do not recall adding these.... How did they get there? I recall whatever was listed I chose that I be asked what to do with it. Here is a screenprint so you can see what the items are. I use Linux. The only change I made after seeing this is to ask me about anything not listed. The answer had been to save. Should I change them all to ask me? Why are google sites (Youtube, Gmail and Search) getting disconnected when all other sites are still connected to the Net? This has been happening since November 2021.

When that happens I close the FF and then immediately open it. Now the google sites work properly.

Never had that problem with other sites.....never!

Why the hell is this happening? Is FF responsible or Google?

So what is the solution?

I deleted cookies, and now when I open firefox, it doesn't reload my default email tabs at the top of the screen. I use 3 email accounts. And now when I open firefox, I'm having to log into them every time.

This site connects with Chrome & Edge, but Firefox reports "Error 521 Server is down".

On my Windows 10 desktop, I have used www.bostonglobe.com for years with no problem. Firefox keeps me logged in and if, for any reason, am not, I click on the login link and Firefox fills in my login. Lately this does not work. I just updated Firefox and it still does not work. Bostonglobe.com loads but when I click on the login link all I get is a blank page. This works in Chrome and in Firefox on my Samsung tablet. I deleted all the bostonglobe cookies but this does not help. I have rebooted the computer and this does not help either. Any solutions would be greatly appreciated.

I can no longer login into https://www.amwater.com/ website to pay my bill. See attached message telling me that I need to install a different browser. Well I tried to upload a print screen of the error message that I'm getting, but your site is unable to finish the upload. It just keeps saying " Uploading AMWater.png

Hi. I use reader view a lot for both English and Turkish articles. I recently realized the headphone icon is gone for Turkish pages.
