I am a 25 year user of firefox and this is the worst it has been 100.0 On more and more sites Firefox fails to work on forms and certain web pages.

forms dont show up forms dont execute once complete certain website actions dont work

my belief is these are special scripts and not the basic website display, but I am having to switch to chrome more and more to acomplish my daily activities.

I have updated recently to 100 and I find it hard to believe I have these problems.

When I want to drag and drop a tab into a folder of the bookmark toolbars, I can't do it for some folders.

Specifically, it doesn't work for folders that are somewhat in the area of the tab preview animation that pops up when I start dragging the tab. So that is not the same folders every time, it depends on the tab location in the tab bar.

I hope that the explanation was clear enough, I did a screen record also, made it available here https://ufile.io/pikit6xo (335 kB).

Do someone had a similar issue and found a solution?

I'm in troubleshooting mode. Firefox 100, just updated, but bug was there before. Ubuntu 20.04 LTS

I autoscroll, using the middle mouse button a lot. I middle click, release the button, and just move the mouse. To stop the scrolling I click the middle button again.

The problem is that in Twitter (only when using Firefox, not Chrome), and perhaps a very few other websites, if I make that second click (to end scrolling) over a link or linked image, the link opens (in a new tab). This is very frustrating, since I can move the mouse anywhere while scrolling, and I commonly mistakenly open links this way, interrupting my reading.

If I am *not* autoscrolling and middle-click on a link in Twitter, nothing happens. (Perfect!) But if I am autoscrolling the link opens (Bad!).

How can I set up Firefox to that the middle mouse button will never open links, and only function for scrolling?

the last few firefox updates are messing with windows graphics settings and not just firefox browser, it took weeks to get my windows settings back, to keep this from happening again i had to remove firefox when it updated without my permission, and b4 it messed further with windows settings i removed ff all together,,i re-installed version 100.0,,,,,i typically have 4 to 5 ff windows open and 20+ tabs in each,,i lost all of those, bookmarks, i only got bookmarks back by syncing to a second pc minus 2 months,,still missing all the windows/tabs,, if i cant prevent ff from updating i will have to find another browser to use, there is no absolute button in settings to prevent updates if ff is restarted, there isnt even a button to prevent downloading updates without express permission.

Ever since Firefox updated to the new version I've been having constant crashes. I've tried restarting in Safe Mood which doesn't help. Pretty much Firefox will open, say it's not responding, and then by the time it looks like it's about to restore my tabs it crashes. I had to do a refresh and transferred the backup files from an older session which worked, but then it eventually crashed again. I uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox and tried opening my older profile but it keeps happening. I really need to restore my previous session. There's nothing with my computer that seems to be causing it. I did have 2 windows open with about 8,000 tabs total which I'm sure could be part of the reason, but it never really had trouble before and only just started crashing since the update. Is there any way to fix this without starting over? I read that this is a bug that others have dealt with previously.

Some additional information. I'm on a 64-bit Windows 10 PC.

For the last few weeks I keep getting this error message: An error occurred during a connection to ....... You are attempting to import a cert with the same issuer/serial as an existing cert, but that is not the same cert.

Error code: SEC_ERROR_REUSED_ISSUER_AND_SERIAL

It will suddenly happen for multiple sites that I have been connected to in the past, or new sites I try to open including support.mozilla.org. A solution is to clear my history and restart the browser. It only happens on my windows 10 laptop. I think happens when I have logged off or the device has slept and then firefox has restarted and opened previously open tabs. Other devices on the same network don't get effected.

First, I apoligize if this is not correctly posted here but this kind of fit multiple categories.

I love Firefox and have used it for quite a long time. However, recently I have had multiple issues, most which have not been resolved. This issue however needs to get fixed because I cannot do this every time. For some reason, if I close the browser and open it again, my account has been disconected and it wants me to log in again. I did find a post regarding this from 10 months ago which a user stated the following:

"Your ‘logged-in’ status is stored in special cookies. If the cookie is removed, you are logged out. You may be in Private Browsing mode or told Firefox not to remember. Type about:preferences#privacy<enter> in the address bar. The button next to History, select Use Custom Settings. Turn off Always Use Private Browsing Mode Turn on Remember My Browsing And Download History At the bottom of the page, turn on Clear History When Firefox Closes. At the far right, press the Settings button. Turn on ONLY Cache and Form And Search History leaving the others off."

I followed this hoping it would be the end of it but it still keeps on happening. If I can't get a solution to this, I will have to use another browser. I hate to think that will happen as no other browser has been as good a fit as Firefox but as I am sure you can imagine, this is getting to be too difficult of a process to do 10-20 times a day.

Thank you for reading and I hope someone has some sort of idea on how I might overcome this annoyance. Stay safe and healthy!

Up until Firefox 64, Firefox had limited support for RSS:

  • Viewing a RSS feed would show you the feed items, with an option to do something with the feed.
  • Live bookmarks would actually subscribe to those feeds

I can understand removing Live Bookmarks. It's a big feature. I don't understand removing the (what I assume to be) XSLT stylesheet that made RSS feeds not look like a wall of XML. Does anybody know what the conversation was here? Are there minutes?

Even basic RSS support helps people interact with the web, and since Chrome and Firefox both dumped RSS, users are being driven further and further into the arms of "Platforms" who handle this stuff through black-box algorithms. And so much tracking.

Mozilla should reverse this one. Bring RSS back hard.
