Currently the built-in VPN operates via a blacklist system. Where it is turned on browser wide, with exception of sites you manually add to the blacklist where it will turn itself off when on those sites.

To preserve the allotted 50gb data limit for using the VPN, I would ideally need to turn the vpn off of every website that I don't need it to be on which is extremely tedious even if it's a one-time annoyance.

It would be better if instead(or in addition to) we had a whitelist option where we could have the VPN not be active browser wide, with exception of any site we add to the whitelist. I would much prefer this because there's only a handful of sites that I would need the VPN to be on.

I am currently testing the new Mozilla browser VPN and it's really cool, I love how you can enable/disable it at a site level. That being said, the options to do this are quite limited - I feel like for me personally, I'd love to be able to "enable on this website" list. So for example if I want to ONLY use the VPN on Google.co.uk, I can enter that into the list, rather than having to exclude a bunch of sites I use, just to enable it on 1 website. Thanks in advance!

I saw the update that you added vpn to firefox, but I can't use it. It doesn't show up in the toolbar anywhere and there are no vpn options anywhere in settings. When I try and create a second profile THEN I get the vpn option but when I click on it it says that I can only use it with the original profile.

I originally did not want to bring up this issue because I kind of wanted to take advantage of it but I am starting to feel bad and I don't even know if it is working. I have been using the free built-in VPN somewhat often but the amount left off this month has not gone down. I am confused if it is simply just not ticking down the data I am using, or it is just not working and my data has been exposed. I have definitely used more than 1GB at this point but it is still saying 50GB out of 50GB left.

I am not complaining it if it is not going down but still working, though I feel bad taking advantage. But if it is not working at all then I will need to adjust accordingly.

What are the main difference between the 'free' VPN feature (currently on Firefox) versus the 'paid' version - beyond the pricing and ability to use other browsers with 'paid' VPN.

I cannot find the Firefox VPN prompt that they claim is in the top right corner of the tool bar & is apparently necessary to signup for this feature. Can anyone tell me what it looks like or where to find it? Thank you.

thanks for making me waste 20 mins trying to figure out to find the VNP setup, and thinking i must be blind or just very stupid, until i realize maybe not my country, and google and find it is not.

win 11. "VPN protection for firefox is on" in settings, privacy/security, in the vpn section I see "get started". double click; nothing happens. I want youtube and X to run without using vpn. Thanks

I'm stuck signing into VPN. My email address is shown when I click on VPN in the menu bar but there's no on/off toggle. I click Get Started, it says "Signed in Successfully! Next: Turn on VPN" — but there's no place to do this. It says "Go to the open panel" – what is an open panel? There's an x in a dark circle next to the VPN in the menu bar. It feels like a continuous loop and I'm getting nowhere – that I can tell.

I discovered after purchasing the annual subscription for Mozilla VPN, it does not allow access to several websites such as MLB.TV and YouTube TV.
