The current update in Firefox has NOTHING to do with me. Nothing that is added or fixed has anything to do with my system or how I use the browser. (This happens FREQUENTLY) I am getting NAGGED by Firefox to install it. (Settings are be notified about updates, I choose when to install). .
I always check and read the detailed release notes. I REALLY resent being forced to install updates that do not relate to my system or what I do in any way!
Please Firefox, PROVIDE OPTIONS to SKIP updates! This feature/option is LONG LONG OVERDUE! Make it so!

It is F E E D B A C K. It's not a question! I don't want to read screed of gunk to post feed back. Good grief the internet is going to the pack .
I have already be scolded for posting in the wrong forum and sent over here. Frankly this sucks.

To wrap up.
Where is the FIREFOX complaints department!!!

Are you folks planning to rollback to a version that looks and functions like pre version 57? What about the add ons that no longer function? Are you giving up on all these folks who detest the changes? I am about to give up on Firefox. The rolled back version is becoming increasingly unusable and is of course a security problem. Can't stay back, hate the move forward, I guess the time has come to move on.

Hi experts, recently I installed and run Firefox Quantum 65.02 64 Bit Edition. I was very pleased with all. I am writing this request since I truly want Firefox Quantum be the best ever. I found some bugs but I will start with the most important request : the Bookmarks need your help. The Bookmarks are set in a JSON format file and Import can lead to an XML format file. The bug is that you cannot restructure or rename many bookmarks (Favorites) in Explorer mode as I can do with IE.v11. As example : with the Favorites folder of IEv11, I can Manage or Rename many .URLs simultaneously. So we need the Firefox Quantum developers to have a JSON to URL converter tool so that we can manage the many Firefox Q bookmarks in Explorer simultaneously. It will be a kind of Bookmarks Folder in Explorer ... That will be great. Then Firefox Quantum will make then background URL to JSON conversion so that it will update all the Bookmarks in Firefox Quantum ... I hope that you can convey this IMPORTANT Feature directly to the Developer Group concerned by Bookmarks. 2019 0310 1732.

The pictures I could click on were NOT websites I had been to before but these articles were updated daily and followed my scientific interest. I finally gave up on Mozilla giving me any support as basically they don't have any which really sucks and instead found on Google Chrome a very similar plugin that works very nicely which means Mozilla has gained another very disgruntled and discouraged client - but I doubt if they really give a damn.

I got here via https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/feedback/ so the following should be treated as “product feedback” rather than a "question".
Let me first say that I’m quite happy with FF overall but the way it supports "Bookmarks" really frustrates me... First, I've not been convinced to check how "Pocket List" differs from "Bookmarks" and the mere presence of its icon in the URL bar next to the “Star icon” irritates me since each time I want to click "bookmark" I always experience this fraction of delay figuring out which button to press.. at the very least I would like to have the option to move the “Star icon” to the other end of the bar. Second, upon times I think to access a previously saved bookmark I instantly get this “ooof” like feeling, suggesting this to be tedious … I suspect this because: 1) The “tilted books” icon is quite "distant" from the “Star icon” by different measures, it's not within the same control group, and it is set apart by a substantial length compared to the distance between icons in a group, so effectively, the “Bookmark concept" is in two places and since I save more than I review I tend to first look at the "star icon" regardless of what I actually want to do with "Bookmarks". I think a more intuitive design for me would have the "star" and "books" icons be adjacent visually somehow... perhaps combining the two into a "dropdown button". 2) Once I do locate and click the "books icon" I'm somewhat overwhelmed by seeing many options which all deal with "past pages" and it takes me another click to open the "sub-menu" to show the "Bookmark list", which itself is not really consistent with sub-menus as a UI navigation pattern. 3) ..at which point I’m presented with a relatively narrow list of descriptions having the majority of them being cut-off. This makes the whole list appear very cryptic. I would really appreciate having a one-button click experience in order to reveal my bookmarks. As a quick remedy, I would love to have the option to change the semantics of the URL bar pull down pane (e.g drop-down arrow) to show my bookmarks instead of the recently visited URL's (I never ever used this list to navigate back to a site).
Hope this is considered...

I know, this question is around for 15 years. Reason I created this account is just to support other people not heard. Fact is: Alice's wonderful add-on 'Show Parent Folders' is no longer available, Firefox lost one of the MOST IMPORTANT FEATURES ever. There are two reasons, I never stopped using Firefox: I like the spirit behind (including the fact, I don't like Explorer, Chrome, Safari etc for many different reasons) and I had 'Show Parent Folders'. I'm not a developer, I can't program it myself. But I made hundreds of people happy when showing the 'Show Parent Folders'. If all the people using 'Show Parent Folders' would take time to comment here, you would understand, why this is important. So please reevaluate this feature quickly!

IF U DONT UPDATE FIREFOX, EVENTUALLY IT MAKES ITSELF IMPOSSIBLE TO USE UNTIL U UPDATE LIKE GOOD LITTLE BOYS AND GIRLS THE ONLY PROBLEM WITH THAT IS THAT FIREFOX DOES NOT CARE ABOUT THE CRUSHING BLOW IT LANDS ON THE HEADS OF THOUSANDS OF FAITHFUL AND LOYAL FIREFOX USERS. THIS BEING SAID, IN ORDER TO PUT MY QUESTION IN CONTEXT, IS AS FOLLOWS: FAST DIAL AND QUICKFOX NOTES ARE MY LIFE; UNFORTUNATELY, FIREFOX IS THE ONLY BROWSER THAT I WANT TO USE. SO I AM STUCK WITH HAVING A BROWSER THAT RIPS AWAY THE VERY FOUNDATION OF MY LIFE ON MY COMPUTER. FAST DIAL IS REPLACEABLE; I DONT LIKE ALL THE OTHER 'FAST DIAL WANNABEES' BUT THEY ARE ADEQUATE. QUICKFOX NOTES IS ANOTHER MATTER ENTIRELY: NOT ONE OF THE HUNDREDS OF 'NOTES' [AND IT SEEMS I HAVE TRIED EVERY ONE] THAT ALL SHOUT ABOUT THEIR GREAT FEATURES AND EASE OF USE, [NOT ONE] COME ANYWHERE CLOSE TO SERVING AS AN ADEQUATE REPLACEMENT FOR QUICKFOX NOTES [EXCEPT ONE]. SO WE COME TO MY WOE, BECAUSE THE ONLY REPLACEMENT I WANT FOR QUICKFOX IS "OPENOTE"!!! NO, I DID NOT SAY ONENOTE" AND THERES THE RUB. I HAVE SPENT HOURS SEARCHING AND GOING AROUND IN CIRCLES TRYING TO FIND OPENOTE THE SECOND TIME. I HAD IT BUT I LOST IT AND I DO NOT UNDERSTAND ENUF COMPUTER TALK IN ORDER TO FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS TO GET IT BACK FROM MY COMPUTER WHERE IT HAS HIDDEN IT FROM ME. PLEASE HELP. AND THANK U VERY MUCH FOR READING MY TALE OF WOE.

The default language in address bar is English.
So, when I need to search for Chinese characters, it will by default only allows me to input English, even my input method is for Chinese already, it will just switch it to input English only.
It is annoying. Please add an option for "disable the default language to English" or just use the input method that the user is using as the language for search at address bar.

Hi , There are 3 negative things in Mozilla Firefox browser:-
1-FireFox is full of ads and Firefox ad blocker is weak it doesn't even block most ads! when I click on something a new tap get opened and I find a page or a website or something I have no relation with it! For example I am in a modding website and I click on search button then a new tap comes and I find another website or page about how to be rich and that is not what I want!. By the way a lot of people prefer Google Chrome browser because it has no ads however I prefer Firefox browser please remove the ads from firefox, Make firefox browser clean of ads.
2-Where is the register button?! I took maybe 15 minutes to find a solution to register in this website then I knew that the only way to register is by volunteering but I don't want to volunteer I just want to register to ask a question! I am sure that I am not the only one who is talking about that there is no register button, Please put a register button so people can register quickly.
3-I have an old account and I forgot its password so I wrote my email to receive a password reset link and I waited maybe 2 minutes or 1 minute and I didn't receive the link so I tried again by writing my email and again I didn't receive the link!
1-Please put a "|([fast])|" VPN for Firefox browser because some websites are blocked in other countries. 2-I know that you have many products like firefox focus so can you make a VPN can content a lot of countries please?

Just wanted to give my thoughts on a video you made.
I am referring to the video with the people walking around with the 'text bubbles' above their head - it's about privacy.
2 key points to start with
1. The video is well made, funny, professional, good flow, good quality 2. I'd like to offer some food for thought
The tag is #YOUBEYOU
Which I like.
however some of the points don't work in this contect. For example, the contruction worker wants to hide the fact he's bought Justin Beiber tickets - then that's a form of guilt / shame - that's not 'You being You'.
It's important that whilst we reinforce privacy, we don't crumble into shameful, non communicative humans that hide away our true selves.
Each scene you had in the video, whilst highlighting privacy, also fails to address the core issue:
1. No baby – this is social values and cultural issues. I personally live between the UK and China so I know everything about parents giving their children pressure to get married. I also know that whilst this is tradition, in this modern age in China it's not how young modern women think. Women still struggle here to compete as equals with men, and the added pressure from parents makes it doubley hard. I met one girl who was literally shaking in tears as she had to go to her home town to her traditional family who would give her the silent treatment and scowl at her for not even having a boyfriend.
2. Blue poop – health information should not be embarrassing and be open. This begs the question: if we were as a society with strong moral values and discipline and a healthy mind balance - then we should not be ashamed of anything being public knowledge. I appreciate if someone has genital warts then they don't want this as public knowledge, but then we also need to address (in that particular case) our society towards sex education, censorship of sex in media etc - is this about privacy or about the fact that as a world we are not open enough because we're all a bunch of depressed perverts? (lol)
3. Justin Beiber – society judging people. Why be ashamed of buying Justin Beiber tickets? Someone would call this guy a 'fag'? 'Oh you fag, you're listening to Justin Beiber' - so we let people be private so they can enjoy their guilty pleasures? Isn't true happiness about sharing?
4. Job satisfaction – better employers and internal happiness. Hapiness comes from the person, not from their job, their boss, their environment. What happened to this woman's life that she doesn't have the confidence to get the job that's right for her? Was it her education? Did kids call her fat at school? Instead of addressing the core issues, she wants to hide away in her own privacy... and to be honest, if you don't like your job - search for a new one at home on the evening or weekend - not whilst you're actually working in the job. final point is that she chose this job also, she accepted the terms and she signed the contract - people should take ownership. (once again, these points aren't about 'poo pooing' the video, they're just points for reflection)
5. Worlds best boss – that needs to be earnt. If he wants that mug, then he needs to earn it. He's got staff outside who are unsatisfied, but alls he's doing is messaging about getting his mug. Instead of being open and doing this the hard (but significantly more rewarding way) - he's hiding away and taking the short term easy route of just buying the mug!
- youbeyou – this contradicts the above points made.
you can read these points and think;
1. Don't do anything, who cares 2. feel annoyed that some random person is bringing up lots of bad points that are totally missing the point 3. Take these points constructively and positively (as they are intended) and see this as working progress
Why do I care to spend my valuable time to do this?
I admire and respect what you are doing a lot, and I know the time and effort it takes to pioneer things like this. So I wanted to add some points for reflection.
I feel privacy is a double edged sword, whilst it frees us from judgement in a predominantly sick society, it restricts us from addressing core issues that prolong our sickness.
Now this is a big debate, which is best done over a beer - but the world is sick, it's oppressed by corrupt laws, negative media, incomplete education, poor social standards, poor role models for children (Mylie Cyrus!!!)
Privacy is essential, but that's just half the battle.

Even if they will never answer, I wonder if it's possible to get a message through to actual people working at Firefox? I was planning to send a meaningful donation as they were requesting. Then, in the last 2 days, my Firefox both reverted back from my Google to their preferred Yahoo search, and stopped showing the seconds along with the hour and minute in the time presenting feature at the top right of the screen. I'd like them to know that at least one long time customer is dissatisfied with this, and foregoes support to them strictly because of it. Thanks. Jim San Francisco

Quantum is a mess, a serious loss of functionality because it removes the rich, powerful suite of add-ons/tools. These tools were what made Firefox so popular among the tech literate and a go-to for tech companies that used browser add-ons to create internal tools.
This is not just a complaint against change, I dearly hope you are listening and recognize what a disaster this is shaping up to be. The "speed difference" between modern browsers (non-mobile) is so negligible that it is meaningless... customization and the ability to use 3rd party privacy software are the hallmarks of tech literate users (which are and have been your base). Please do not disregard this, the 'upgrade' to Quantum smacks of executive level decisions that are badly out of touch with reality (or a dev team that is not equipped to handle a major release). If you abandon your users to chase Edge/Chrome users, you will simply cease to be relevant.
Please revert or release a 'classic' version (with legacy add-on support) or this will be the end of Firefox. This is a product management level decision but Mozilla has no future against Edge/Chrome if this course is maintained. It is ironic that you are destroying your own market position, all but handing the big two the future. If this is the future of Firefox, I will make sure to recommend against Mozilla products in the future.

I think this is a feature request. Here's what I'm seeing:
- do a web search
- click on a link that launches a container tab, like Facebook
- current tab killed (!) new page opens in container tab
- History gone/back button disabled
3 creates a a very frustrating user experience. Since you get no notification that the current tab will be killed by clicking a link, you don't know why your history is gone. It took me a while to figure it out and I'm a developer who's been surfing the web since Mosaic. I found that the history is there if I look at the history tab, which is good. Even better, "undo close tab" resurrects the killed tab.
But why not automatically open the page in a new tab and leave the original one open? I don't see an option for that, but maybe I missed it? Thanks.
I want to save a web page as PDF,but can't find the same "options" and easyness that i found in google chrome.

Actually in chrome when i want to save a webpage in PDF / print a file i go for ctrl+p then it automatically previews it with many options such as paper size/standard and more.. which makes it very EASY and time saving which i could not find in firefox. At
first i used chrome but later shifted to Firefox due to Privacy.... I thought installing PDF software made it disapper but later found that Firefox lacks the option.
Suggestion : Please provide more options and make it ease of access in the print section of Firefox, also the print preview shows the options such as landscape/portrait... in top side it will be much easier if it is to the left/right side.

In light of Mozilla's censorious decision to create the Mozilla Information Trust Initiative, a thinly veiled attempt to control information and user experience online, I will no longer be using your browser.
The fact that you have made it near impossible to communicate directly to your company (hence this roundabout support ticket in lieu of a simple email) adds to frustration with your company, as well as the increasing slowness and dysfunction of the browser.
You have betrayed my trust, your company has become arrogant and untrustworthy, and so I will be switching to an upstart competitor.

I love Firefox, however it's missing a feature that would help me a lot.
I'm a developer and I switch between the Development and Production web site a lot.
I'm worried I do some action in Production thinking I'm in the Develop one. To minimize the risk there are some measures I take. 1- I use a different user in the Development version 2- The Development version as a different color 3- I use a different browser for Production (Chromium)
I would like to start using Firefox in Production too, but in order to make it safe I need to be able to change the Firefox icon in the Operating system status bar. This way I always see with icon in the Operation System status bar I should click to go to the Production Browser. If for security reasons the Firefox icon can not be changed for each profile, then if you add a "save to desktop" chrome like feature it should do the trick. In my particular use case, since the Development version does not have the favicon, It would be enough to Firefox display the favicon of the current selected tab instead of the Firefox icon.

It's a great idea, but a really stupid name. We've all been conditioned to think 'refresh' online just means, reload. I thought it would just recheck my firefox to ensure it was the latest version, and probably just reinstall itself.
Yes, I know I should have read more into it before, but it really shouldn't be so vague to begin with. Just a personal gripe, cause I lost all my bookmarks and my last backup was like a year ago... sigh...

I would like to have a conversation with the developer who had the brilliant idea of applying LZ4 to the formerly plain text session backup files that were used since the beginning and worked perfectly fine.
What is the name of the person whose idea it was to add a “feature” to Firefox that made recovering lost sessions so much easier and saving 3 MB of my disk space for wasting over 100 minutes of my time figuring out how to handle LZ4 works and how to get the plain text that would normally be written directly to the disk after Firefox failed to recover the session after a crash and after file system readability problems?
And did the community explicitly ask for LZ4? Were there users of Mozilla Firefox that recommended LZ4? Who exactly had the idea of implementing LZ4?
Will places.sqlitelz4 (or “places.sqlite.lz4”) become the next victim of lz4?
Thanks in advance.
