I lost my arrows on my scrollbar again after an update early last month. I tried adding lines to the gtk.css config files with no success unlike I've been successful doing in the past. It appears they are gone forever unless I can find another way to get them back. I noticed that the scrollbar arrows are gone on only Firefox and Thunderbird. As mentioned, this has happened in the past after some updates but in the past I was able to edit the gtk.css files in both gtk-2.0 and gtk-3.0 to get them back. Is there anything else I can try. I'm using the latest version of Ubuntu (Pop OS to be specific) and the arrows to the scrollbars disappeared around April 2nd for both Firefox and Thunderbird. I didn't notice any other applications where the arrows to the scrollbars disappeared. Is there something else I can try and a way to prevent this from happening in the future. This seems to be a common problem that happens every time there is an update.

Why is firefox automatically downloading strange files I've never seen before? (MEUIVFJ-.htm and 3tHMwYhc) They look a little untrustworthy. My download dropdown suddenly showed me that one had been downloaded, and then a while later the other one was downloaded. Are these actual Mozilla files? Or are they some kind of scam/trojan/spyware? I just realized that two were downloaded last month as well.

So Firefox did an auto-update a few days ago, and when I opened the browser EVERYTHING was gone. Passwords, bookmarks, etc.

I've managed to get the old bookmarks moved over, but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get the old passwords back. The old data is in a folder on my desktop, do I just copy and paste the login and key 4 files from that folder to the new folder?

Sorry if this seems like a dumb question, I'm a pleb and this is the first time I've experienced this. :(

Hello, I've only recently started using Firefox and the browser used to update automatically, however, today, I got a pop-up message asking me to update it. It was from "Mozilla Corporation", plus at that time the browser was working extremely slow, which that got me thinking that maybe it wasn't working efficiently due to not being updated. So, I ran the program and installed the update, and later, on visiting this page, I got to know that most of such pop-ups are malwares. I got extremely scared and decided to search the update history of the browser.

It said the following:

"Firefox 100.0 Installed on: (today's date) Status: The update could not be installed (patch apply failed)."

This confused me further as I don't know if what I installed was a malware program or a genuine update.

Could you please help me out ?
