Firefox won't stay downloaded to my computer. I am having to download it multiple times, especially if my computer has updates.

On a separate note, when it does actually stay on my computer over night, it never keeps me signed in to my Firefox account. I have to log in to it daily to have my bookmarks and passwords.

Also, it never remembers the theme I have picked for it. I would love some advice on how to fix this.

I've read through a ton of articles, and I can't seem to find a fix.

Does anybody know where the ID: 308046B0AF4A39CB comes from?

If you use a Windows 10 1909 64 Bit and you can find this in the installs.ini and in the profiles.ini of users, if you have a Firefox ESR 64 Bit in Version 78.10.0 installed. The INI-Files looks like this:

Installs.ini: [308046B0AF4A39CB] Default=Profiles/8U9skky2.default-esr Locked=1

Profiles.ini: [Install308046B0AF4A39CB] Default=Profiles/8U9skky2.default-esr Locked=1

[Profile0] Name=default-esr IsRelative=1 Path=Profiles/8U9skky2.default-esr

[General] StartWithLastProfile=0 Version=2

This ID can vary if you have a 32 bit ESR-installation as well and the only place I could find it is in the registry

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Mozilla\Firefox\TaskBarIDs] C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox=308046B0AF4A39CB

But also here it differs sometimes.

I need to know where the ID comes from and if I can rely that if this ID is used, I will always address the Firefox ESR 64 Bit no matter which version.

Hi, I accidentally DLed FF88 without checking the details w/r/t functionality.

Several of the changes severely compromise my ability to use FF for my job.

Examples are the 'view image' which is now gone from right-click and replaced with 'open image in new tab' --this disrupts my work flow. And 'save image to pocket' etc is not useful for me, but happens to be right where I normally click on another function.

Is there a relatively seamless way to undo the FF88 'upgrade' ? TIA

First I was stuck in an upgrade loop where Firefox would ask me to restart to install the upgrade but then isn't upgraded on restart. So I manually downloaded latest version from the website and installed it. Now after installing I lost my current session (opened tabs). I have enabled sync so I can still see the synced tabs in my Firefox account under my device, but I don't know how to open all tabs from a particular device.

How do I open all synced tabs from a particular device in Firefox 89 on macOS 11.3.1?

Hello. I have Firefox set to notify me of new updates but though I always download them I don't immediately install them. My current version is 88.0.1.

Today I downloaded what I now know to be the all-new complete revamp version. But I don't want to install it on my main PC until I've looked into a little more and perhaps tried it out on a laptop. With it in

Is there a way of removing the downloaded version? With it in place, if I restart Firefox or reboot the computer it will automatically be installed, and I don't want that to happen just yet.

I'm running Windows 7 on a desktop PC.

Many thanks.

System Elementary OS 5.1 (Ubuntu 18.04) Nvidia 465 driver

Tried with Firefox from Ubuntu repos and Flathub

Problem Since the update, I have this rectangle (see picture) on all websites, even the settings. This makes Firefox unusable.

What I already tried

  1. Numbered list item Started Firefox in Troubleshoot-Mode, where everything works normal. Nice.
  2. Numbered list item EDIT: I also tried the "Refresh Firefox" option, with no success
  3. Numbered list item I purged the Firefox install and removed all configs, addons etc. on disk (removed /usr/lib/mozilla, ~/.mozilla, /etc/firefox). Sadly, the Problem is still there.

So it works in Troubleshoot-Mode with my personalized Firefox version as well as a clean install, but never outside of Troubleshoot-Mode.

Question As a clean Firefox (see above) seems to work as intended, how do I reproduce this behavior outside of Troubleshoot-Mode? What changes between Troubleshoot-Mode and regular mode? Any advice?

Every time I try to open Firefox it asks me for permission to install Firefox Software Updater. I then say no and Firefox opens with a notification to update to the latest version. I opted out from updates but the only option available is for the Firefox to ask before updating, there is no option to opt out definitively. Is there any solution to stop notifications and installing attempts?

Thanks in advance
