Hi there!
I'm attempting to migrate my Firefox (106.0.3) profile from the Linux Mint V20.3 on one SSD to a new installation of Linux Mint V21 on a separate SSD. I'm using the information supplied on this page:
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/back-and-restore-information-firefox-profiles
Step 4, under Backing up your profile says: Right-click on your profile folder (e.g. xxxxxxxx.default), and select Copy.
This folder, qspfoqtl.default, contains 1 file, named times.json, the contents of which are:
{ "created": 1618792039414, "firstUse": null }
Clearly, not my Firefox profile.
There is, however, a folder named nnob5aww.default-release that contains a bunch of directories and files (505.4MB) with names like bookmarkbackups, browser-extension-data... storage, weave.
Is this documentation incorrect as of this release of Firefox? And, should I be using the nnob5aww.default-release folder as the profile? I'm a little confused. (Most often, I'm a lot confused.) Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
- Ralph

My old Linux computer died and I have removed the still good SSD from it. I have installed the latest Firefox on my new computer and would like to restore the bookmarks and other saved data to the new computer.
I am running Ubuntu 20.04, the old computer was on Ubuntu 18.04.
Can these things be restored, and if so what do I need to do?

Have new HP AIO. Came with Chrome. First thing I did was delete Chrome. Went to Firefox. I love Firefox. Attempted to download. Blue status bar never completes. Checked in MS settings to allow all apps. Firefox button opens an empty browser window. Nothing works here. Thank You/Mike Owens
It would be great if it would warn you that you have already downloaded a file, before adding (n) to the name for multiple versions.

Dear TS, Friday January 28th 2022 Firefox updated my Win 10 PC to version 96.0.3 and wiped out everything from the previous Firefox version. No bookmarks, History, or add ons, everything is gone! How do we get everything back? I have a recent backup using Acronis on an external drive and even copies of old profiles from 2016. If the data can't be retrieved I'm thinking the only option is to remove Firefox and attempt restoring it from the Acronis backup. Sincerely, Robert.

I downloaded Firefox on my Chromebook using the instructions found here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/run-firefox-chromeos However, I have not been able to update it since. It says updates are disabled in Firefox itself, and I have not been able to fine what files I need to update via Terminal to get the most current version. (I have been able to update other files through Terminal). Can someone please point me in the direction of how to update Firefox if installed in the manner described in the link?

Downloaded the latest version of firefox. When it was opened and it went through the verification process then to move firefox folder into applications for use we received a notice where the firefox logo had a circle with a line through it (indicating to us that is would not function) then an arrow pointing to the application folder. The firefox version downloaded and opened Firefox 91.8 Oesr.dmg
Any suggestions as to what safe version I could use on a mac mini late2012 operating OS X El Capitan 10.11.6 Which I am told is the latest version that can be used on this machine with the following characteristics: processor 2.3 GHzIntel Corei7 memory 4GB 1600 MHz DDR3 Start up disk el capitan 10.11.4 this is strange since 4 lines above it states OS X El Capitan Version 10.11.6 graphics Intel HD Graphics 4000 1536MB

Nightly is working really good in my Android Phone. Now I would like to install Nightly in my LinuxMint Desktop. I found a page at https://www.linuxcapable.com/how-to-install-firefox-next-beta-or-firefox-quantum-nightly-on-linux-mint/ But cannot install with all those commands. So what is the best way to install Nightly on my LInuxMint? Without all the commands and things I don't understand. I am 82 years old and cannot always do such. Thanks for your help.

I just got a chromebook from my work, and I'm unable to install firefox. I've tried searching for firefox download and clicked on the top result from Mozilla, but once it has finished downloading, I try clicking on the freshly downloaded folder but that just lets me see the folders and files within the big folder. I haven't had this experience before when trying to download firefox, but I'm also fairly new to using a chromebook. So I'm not sure if my issue is with the chromebook/OS, or maybe since it's through my work, I'm limited in what apps I can download? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'll do my best to attach a screenshot of the folder that appears.

I've always used the "Always ask you where to save files" option when downloading. Recently (beginning of April 2022), files go directly to the Downloads folder. The "Always ask" option is still selected in Settings.
I've tried un-selecting and re-selecting, restarting Firefox, restarting my computer - basically every iteration of 'turn it off and on again' that I can think of.

The latest update has made it so Firefox opens the download panel every time I download something, a very obnoxious behavior when downloading a lot of files, and I can't find a way to stop that from happening.
[came across another question that brings up the same issue], but that one focuses more on a site presumably changing about:config rather than the issue of the download panel itself.

I found https://download2.portableapps.com/portableapps/FirefoxPortableLegacy52/FirefoxPortableLegacy52_52.9.0_English.paf.exe I really did not want the portable version but avast considers it a threat so it may not be genuine.
