I'd love to have Firefox release version and Firefox beta installed side-by-side on my Mac. Is it possible? If not, how do I make it so without encountering weird problems? If any from Firefox's dev team are reading this, please just make this possible. Chrome and Edge do it. Firefox should, too, IMO. Thank you.

I was trying to update firefox but kept getting an error of download failed. I uninstalled firefox, but I now cannot even download the setup file, using either Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge. All I get is is an error saying "site cannot provide a secure connection" (see attached image). How can I re-install Firefox?

Starting today, I went to download a .pdf file to open automatically with Adobe Acrobat as I usually do. However, this time I got a pop-up from Microsoft Word stating, "Word will now convert your PDF to an editable Word document. This may take a while. The resulting Word document will be optimized to allow you to edit the text, so it might not look exactly like the original PDF, especially if the original file contained lots of graphics."

I went to Settings - General - Applications, went down Contents list to Portable Document Format (PDF), and tried the various settings under the Action column, to include "Save File," "Always Ask," "Use Acrobat Adobe 2020." None of these worked or made any difference. I open numerous .pdf files every day and I need to be able to just click on them in the website and have them open in my Adobe Acrobat program - as they have up until today. What do I have to do to fix this? I am using Version 102.0.1 (64-bit).

I think I may have downloaded and installed a fake/malicious application that looks/acts like a Firefox Browser installer. I noticed a lot of suspicious activity on my personal/work computer that led me to suspect my internet router was compromised. I work from home sometimes and I may have been tricked into downloaded and installing a malicious version of Firefox.

I suspect this Firefox installer is different because this installer is capable of circumventing the safeguards placed on my work laptop. My work laptop is managed by a university and I require an administrator's credentials in order to install/uninstall any programs, change/view any environment settings, or even open up and view task manager. This process entails actually having an administrator remote into my laptop, take remote control, enter their credentials, and ensure the installer completes.

So far, this unusual Firefox installer is the only installer capable of bypassing these security hurdles. And it does not detect any existing versions of Firefox to prompt an uninstaller before re-installing. The installer's visuals/progress bar appears to be a scripted animation.

I still have the installer in question saved on my computer and I'm not sure what to do with it. I'd like to find out more about it but I'm not sure how to go about it.

Since Firefox is set as my default browser I would have expected to see Firefox here in these registry entries as my default browser in lieu of Internet Explorer. However, if I delete those Registry entries, it then breaks any embedded links in MS Programs such as Outlook mail and Excel. I have I.E as non-active (i.e. unchecked in Programs) but the system still seems to rely on I.E for opening any embedded links. Any suggestions as to how to fix this problem would be appreciated.

When Mozilla Firefox is installed from the installer, it (optionally?) installs the Mozilla Maintenance Service.

In Windows, the Apps & Features (old: Add/Remove Programs) list adds the Mozilla Maintenance Service in the list of programs it can uninstall. The version number entered here is the version number of the Mozilla Maintenance Service upon installation.

Other methods of updating Firefox may update this service (current release version: 102.0.1.8221) - however, the version number contained within the Windows Apps & Features (old: Add/Remove Programs) list is never updated, and will instead display the original installation's version number.

I'd like to recommend that this be fixed, so that the version displayed in Apps & Features (old: Add/Remove Programs) always displays the current version installed.

(One of those flaky "software updater" utilities pointed this one out to me. "You have an old version of the Mozilla Maintenance Service installed!" yes, if you go by the numbers offered by the Apps & Features list...

i'd like to copy my Firefox profile from PC1 to a new PC2;

Last time i tried this, i ended up with PC2 having the same "name" as PC1 in "Sync". This caused weird sync issues, as the system thought my PC2 was PC1 as vice versa.

So, is it possible to copy my entire profile with all addons/settings, BUT, make "Sync" recognize it as a NEW pc ?

After a new installation of Firefox I tried to install Add-On. For all Add-Ons I tried it fails with the message as in the picture attached. When I install it on other computer where I also have Firefox no problem occurs. The picture shows the AdBlocker add-on, which is widely used and to my opinion cannot be corrupted. The error-message is in Dutch and my English translation would be: "Installation is cancelled because the Add-On seems to be corrupted".

Do have a solution/explanation?

a few weeks ago Firefox stopped opening on my Mac. Today I tried to download it again. and it took over 3 "Preparing to copy to Application" I am trying to move it to trash and cannot. I am not technical so please help. I need Firefox. Thanks

I did a clean install of Windows 7 on a new SSD drive. I transferred all the Mozilla/Firefox files (ver. 103) to new Windows 7 install. Appdata\Local, Appdata\Roaming, Application Data including profiles,chrome CSS. New Firefox has larger/wider tabs and the collapsible sidebar does not work, why?

Bookmarks and passwords have not been affected. Is this site data that may or may not be able to recovered? ... I am semi-proficient in finding folders, files and such....Thanks

I have been using Firefox now for 8 years with out a problem but now I have one. I have Norton's antivirus and the last 7 scans I have done Norton's had found and quarantined the Trojan Horse virus found in the Firefox program. I have uninstalled Firefox and re installed with a fresh re-load but after 1 day the virus was back in the Firefox program. I really want to use Firefox and am respectfully requesting someone help me re install the program please. I have attached a screen shot for you. Thank you in advance. Bernie. I am trying to install Firefox offline. I know you use to be able to do this but I don’t it is possible anymore. I am on windows 10 and every time I try to install it just throws this error (see attachment). And when I reconnect Wi-Fi or Ethernet the installer works.

I have a Firefox account on an old laptop, which has all my passwords in it! But the laptop "died" and I now have another one which I am trying to reinstall! I thought all my passwords etc were safe and that I could recover them on my new machine once I had loaded Firefox, but passwords do not appear in the privacy and security section. Can I get all my old info back please and if so how? Many thanks Michele

turned on computer and firefox completely wiped out, apparently all this sponsored by firefox....had to start all over again and install "new" firefox...all bookmarks wiped and no way to to go back to old way or to find and transfer my MANY book marks.. what the heck is going on?!?!?! .any help appreciated!!!
