I wrote this on 13 June 2022: ...I am signed into a Firefox account. I have used this account on at least three different computers. I have downloaded the application anew at least a dozen times.

Firefox randomly, from where I sit, opens things in French rather than English. How can I keep it in English unless otherwise specified (I occasionally want German or Japanese)?

How can I get all the info out of my account and try to start another that speaks English reliably?

Video download helper is installed but icon is missing from toolbar and cannot be found where I'm told to look when I google the problem (i.e., view/toolbars/customize). Nor can I drag it to the toolbar from where I find it when I look under triple bar/addons and themes in the upper right corner of the toolbar. Where else should I look to find it?

Noticed in the last few days I cannot change the proxy settings. Use to be able to. I am on the latest version of Firefox as of today. Try to run Firefox as an administrator but still greyed out. Not sure what is causing this. This is on Windows 10 and a 11 device. Do not have any GPO for firefox. Any idea how to find out what is causing it or ho wto fix it?

Hi there! My Website layout not properly show in Firefox browser as shown on other browsers like chrome, apple browser and others. page width shows to short. Is that browser issue or my website? Note: I used some WP plugins in my website.

My problems with FireFox 113.0.2 started when I began to download some Affinity V2 videos. Some of these were rather large (over 500MB) and I noticed that several were being downloaded at the same time (which was no surprise). However, after sometime I noticed that only one of the videos was completely downloaded and the others were just stopped. Then, when I looked at the task manager the number of FireFox instances was increasing: ...,5,6,...18,..

Of course, I thought I could fix the download process but all my efforts failed; e.g. after a restart of windows and execution of FireFox the same videos were still in a "hold" state and many instances of FireFox were being executed. After a frustating night of failures I finally decided to restore an older FireFox using my Acronis backup/recovery software. My last Aronis backup of my entire system was made on 2023/04/07 with the most recent version of FireFox at the time which worked fine when downloading several large video files at the same time.

I only included the C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox' in the restore since I have installed a rather large number of new apps and updates after 2023/04/07. This also failed -- my add-ons, bookmarks, etc. in this restored version were all missing and before I could stop the recovery process, the restored FireFox was updated to the latest as of today (2023/06/01). And of course the problem had not be fixed.

So finally to my request: What directories, files do I need to restore, from the 2023/04/27 backup with all of its features at that time -- this is important, and how do I stop it from upgrading to a newer version?

When I open emails many times the letters are gibberish. The letters are changed into symbols and weird looking letters. Sometimes closing Firefox and reopening helps, but usually I have to restart my computer. Even then, it may or may not be readable. Some emails are only partially this way, but most are complete gibberish. Has been happening for a few months. I have updated Firefox and am running the newest update. I am using Microsoft 365 email. Other computers in the same office do not have this issue. Any ideas how to fix this?

There are many mainstream websites that have stopped functioning in firefox that work perfectly fine when switching over to brave and enabling scripts

these are not obscure sites, they are sites for privacy protecting entities hence the lack of function on firefox is perplexing

how do we make these sites work in firefox again to save the switching to brave?

Search in tabs (%) extend search to all tabs of all containers.

When I do a search in tabs, it only searches in the tabs of the current container. How can I make it look for tabs from other containers as well?

Firefox is Generating Error Messages. I use a password manager and know the correct ID and Password is being used. Twice recently, I have had to resort to Microsoft Edge to get around denial of access by Firefox. What do I need to do with Firefox to eliminate the denial of access of a website?

On the landing page for youtube, I used to be able to right mouse click on a video thumbnail and select "open image in a new tab" from the context menu and see the thumbnail in a new tab window.

After recent updates, (now using 111.0.1 64bit , on windows 10 pro), this feature no longer exists. It's not a change on youtube because the thumbnail is still recognized as an image and can be opened in a new tab when I use Edge browser. It seems like Firefox no longer recognizes the thumbnail as an image.

Is there any setting I can change to get the feature of "open image in new tab" back into the context menu. or somehow get Firefox to recognize the thumbnail as an image ?

I make themes for themes for firefox using firefox colors extension. I want to know how to change the text colour, background colour, etc of right click menus ( see image attached.

After I boot my system I am not able to open Firefox as it complains about an open instance. After around half a minute the file disappears on its own.

Deleting the lock file manually works for starting firefox, but seems to sometimes delete my cookies as well.

The issue is not reproducible by just logging out and in again.

I would like to add the bookmark tree to my Fickle theme so the colors used can also be seen when looking at my bookmarks. I would gladly ask permission from the person who created the bookmark tree extension and try an see if his extensions could list the bookmarks in the same blue/yellow colors of Fickle. I hope it can work and thanks for any and all help. Rob

Hi.. Last few upgrades, Firefox browser will not keep passwords to bookmark sites. Have to go thru a lot of trouble to sign in to any password sites that is not saved any longer in Fire fox browser.. Tried all kinds of setting in Firefox and disable our virus programs and win 10 items to find a way to save pass words. Google and other browser will save the pass words. i have one website which downloads the content (image/video/html) and save in localStorage also i have service worker who fetches those files.

while downloading the files from one url lets assume ( download.files.com) firefox downloads correctly , but when my service worker tries to fetch the html file from its own url ( url/content/files/downloadedHtml.html) its gives  404 not found , but when i open same url ( url/content/files/downloadedHtml.html) in second tab its giving 200OK. 

also in network tab it gives me "NS_BINDING_ERROR" .
