I am currently using Ubuntu 18.04 and Firefox Quantum 59.0.2 64-bit. On some websites, I am unable to select the password field either using tab or a mouse click to be able to enter a password. This leaves me unable to login. However, this doesnt seem to happen on all password fields.
For example on https://reddit.com I can enter username and password on the field on the right. However, if I click on Login hyperlink on 'Want to join? Log in or sign up in seconds.', I get a popup which I am unable to click the password field on.
I have also seen this problem on https://abnzb.com
I have tried to run in safe-mode but the problem persists.
My addons are Gnome shell integration, Enhanced Steam, HTTPS Everywhere, uBlock origin.
Also, to add to this. When I right click on the password text fields, I do not get a menu popup. I am not sure if this is related or not.

First of all I have tried to clear the Cache on Firefox more than once. I have tried disabling my Anti-Virus programs and it didn't work. It seems to be only on this site as well as the site downforeveryoneorjustme.com and the site's Facebook account told me that the site is just fine. Here is some picture evidence from the former...
But still what I have been doing I keep getting this message...
The connection has timed out
The server at www.behindthevoiceactors.com is taking too long to respond.
It has been on & off before but I wasn't able to access the site at all today. Is this because of any of the add-ons I have, what is going on?

Things have gotten worse. I am unable to reset Firefox because the moment I go to Tools> (etc) reset Firefox, it crashes.
None of the Flash help I have received from both Adobe and Mozilla is helpful.
I finally uninstalled Firefox completely and on a whim, thought I would install Seamonkey. It runs.........But, will not play ANY Flash. The plug in crashes as soon as I try to access any Flash site.
I can use Chrome with no difficulty. I can use IE with no difficulty. So, guess what??? Firefox is out until someone can fix the problem. I'm convinced that Firefox can not handle any Flash software whether Macromedia, Adobe, Shockwave or any other part of it. That is totally unacceptable.
The way I see it, I need to revert to an older version of Firefox AND Flash player. Once I can do that I think it will work together because none of this happened until the newest version was installed.
Where can I find all the older versions of Firefox?? And will I have any difficulty installing them.
Like I said before, I'm a long time fan of Firefox. Problem is, it tries my patience just to get it running again when you folks do an upgrade. The problem ALWAYS involves Flash in some form.

When I go to "Tools" then click on "Add-Ons" then click "Plug-Ins" and then click on "Check To see If Plug-Ins Are Up To Date" it goes to Mozilla Check Your Plug in Page all it does is sit and spin at the "Checking with Mozilla on the status of your plugins." I am using Win7 Pro and just downloaded Firefox update to 35.0.

on site polishburger.pl I have blank page. It becomes blank after it's loaded. I can click links - mouse cursor changes. Disabling hardware acceleration, safe mode, refreshing firefox, disabling tracking protection, disabling addons does not help - always page becomes blank as soon as it loads = less than 1s.

System details: OS: Windows 8.1 Professional (64-bits) Graphics Card: PNY NVidia GT 610 (2GB) RAM: 5GB Firefox version: 36.0 (32-bits)
Starting yesterday, when images would load on websites, some of them would either be completely black, or mostly black, with only a piece of the images loaded, only to fully load several minutes later.
Turning off hardware acceleration resolved this issue, but reduced the overall performance of firefox. Is there any other way to work around this issue, besides turning off hardware acceleration?
Note: The only 2 things I didn't try were resetting firefox, and a fresh install of firefox. I don't want to lose my addon data, and custom firefox settings, because it takes too long for me to put them back where they are now.
I'm also fairly computer savvy, so you can get pretty technical with me. If I don't understand something, I will ask.

I have recently started having the redirection issue with Amazon. I click on a product link on the Amazon website and now I get the message that this page is not properly redirecting. I try Chrome and it works fine. I have cleared my cache, insured that cookies are accepted and I have searched for solutions. I did find several others reporting this problem, but none of their solutions worked for me. The odd thing is that some links on Amazon still work properly. But others don't. Here is a link that is not working for me: https://www.amazon.com/ChickenFuel-OMRI-Listed-Organic-Compost-Fertilizer/dp/B0102PAT9O?ie=UTF8&fpl=fresh&redirect=true&ref_=s9_cartx_gw_g86_i3_r
Here is another link that works fine: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00VOLHKHA/ref=br_asw_pdt-2?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=desktop-4&pf_rd_r=57NDHMP0ADH9BCSMAPX8&pf_rd_t=36701&pf_rd_p=4ccd27f1-4604-40d9-92c7-3318b57f8ba8&pf_rd_i=desktop
And, as I wrote above, all these links work in other browsers, i.e. Chrome. But I hate switching to Chrome so I can use Amazon. As far as I can tell, Amazon is the only website that has this issue. I browse a lot, so that seems strange to me.

Hello, recently I have been getting this message a short time after opening Firefox. It looks like the attached picture. Based on what I have seen, crash reports can help get to the root of the problem, however, Firefox doesn't seem to be generating crash reports after these tab crashes. Can anyone help me with both of these issues?

Firefox has begun opening very [very!] slowly, as well as crashing and freezing during use. This is happening on all of my three machines, two running Win 7 and one Win 8. I have tried refreshing and disabling hardware acceleration, but to no avail. Now it seems to freeze on opening and takes a minute or two even to become responsive, if at all. When I look at Task Manager during a freeze I see the Firefox process is using 35-50% of memory [i have 8GB, 12GB and 16GB] and up to 50% of processsor resources. All has been fine until the last couple of weeks. As an adjunct, in the last month I have noticed an almost permanent error message on the status bar - "Sync encountered an error while synchronising: Unknown error. Sync will automatically retry this action."

I recently reinstalled Mozilla and I can't drag and drop new bookmarks, nor can I import my old bookmarks from an HTML file. If I drag and drop a tab to the bookmarks area, it just opens a new browser window.
I have no add-ons installed, I only use AdBlocker, have been for years. I've restarted in safe mode, same thing.
When I click import from HTML in the Library, they appear in the lefthand column in a folder called Bookmarks toolbar. I just can't drag them to the browser toolbar, where they used to be.

I recently noticed a new pocket button in nightly, and I was wondering what this is. From bugzilla, it seems there is a project to integrate pocket with firefox, but I have a few questions about it:
- why is this being done/why is it replacing the (now unavailable) firefox reading list?
- Is mozilla being compensated by pocket or anyone else for this?
- Who stores the data: mozilla, pocket, or someone else?
- is there an option to disable this?

Recently I was cleaning some malware/viruses/spyware/worms and all other nasty files located on hard drive of computer. Actually I still have them but this is NOT the purpose of my message. The problem is that I lost everything in Firefox. All my bookmarks that I cannot live without are gone. ALL. Each and every bookmark is gone. Saved passwords are gone. Addons are gone. Online banking certificate is gone. Also when I click CTRL T to add new tab in same window I get extremely annoying squares (3 lines and each line with 5 squares) which are graphically showing websites I have visited. Please if someone could help me to get everything back, particularly bookmarks are extremely important.
I tried to do three possible tasks but neither of them worked.
Usage of about:<wbr>profiles command in address bar but it is reporting error message saying The address isn't valid.
TASK TWO (consisting of multiple steps):
step 1: finding old firefox profiles I could manage to find. I hope they are NOT all otherwise I am in huge trouble. Hopefully something was overlooked and you will see why in upcoming steps.
step 2: clicking Open menu icon on the left hand side of firefox consisting of three horizontal lines and click Open Help Menu icon and then click Troubleshooting Information
step 3: clicking about:profiles in section Application Basics. Here I then added every single profile I am aware of via button Create A New Profile
step 4: for each of profile I got listed, I clicked on Launch profile in new browser and my bookmarks, together with other settings (online banking certificate, saved passwords, addons,...) were NOT ( !!! ) there. In neither of profile. I pray that I overlooked some saved profile...
Bookmarks menu\Show All Bookmarks\Import And Backup\Restore. However, In this submenu Restore there is nothing to be restored.
Someone please help me as I really need to get, particularly but not only bookmarks, back.
Waiting extremely anxiously for your reply...
Thank you in advance a billion times!

For the past several weeks I'm becoming increasingly aware of severe memory issues when using FF (currently FF30 32bit). No matter what I do, FF seems to keep allocating more memory to the point where it starts having severe issues and slowdowns, eventually crashing when the used memory reaches about 2.4GB, according to Windows Task manager (I'm running Win7 64 on 8GB of RAM). Currently, the whole process got so bad that it only takes several hours for FF to crash. I don't even have to use FF for this to happen - if I simply leave it running for two hours, when I come back, it's process is already using a few hundred MB of memory more.
I've tried disabling all of the add-ons. I've tried disabling all of the plugins, including Flash (which is always udated to latest version). I've tried the safe mode. I've even tried a clean profile. Nothing really changes much - some of my add-ons might have some influence on how fast FF eats the RAM and they certainly have visible impact on how much memory is used from the start, but even without any add-ons, the memory footprint of FF still gets bigger and bigger over time just by regular browsing.
I've also tried both installing FF28 with clean profile into clean directory - again, the same behaviour was observed, although it used less memory by default and its memory footprint was getting bigger slower than with FF30. I've also tried current nightlies (FF33a1), both 32bit and 64bit, again with a clean profile, installed into a separate new folder. Again, didn't really solve anything.
I also have a second separate Windows 8 install on my PC, so I've tried FF30 in this install as well, however, it behaves exactly the same. FF does this even under my Linux installation, so I really doubt it has something to do with my Win install.
Note that I've also tried running current Pale Moon, and while its allocated memory grows much slower than with FF, it still grows over time unexplicably, and as Pale Moon is based on FF code, I'd say this suggests there's some kind of issue there.
Also note that I usually have quite a few tabs open (around 50 is my average - and no, I don't want to use less tabs, before someone suggests that, I think any browser on current hardware should be able to handle 50 tabs without much issues, and pretty much any other browser is), but the same behaviour was observed even with under 10 tabs. I also always disable the delayed tab loading, meaning that all of my tabs load at browser startup, not just after I click on them, so my starting memory footprint with all of my tabs and add-ons is around 1.4GB (1.1 in Pale Moon), which probably means I'm seeing this issue manifest faster than many other would. I'm fine with the memory it eats at startup and with the slower startup. I would even be fine with my browser taking up 2 gigs of RAM (I've got 8GB of RAM for a reason), as long as it doesn't keep on allocating more and more memory without it ever going back down, even when I close several tabs.
Finally, it might be interesting to note that the memory measurements at about:memory grow much slower than the allocated memory reported by Task manager - meaning that quite often, FF memory measurement says it's using 1395MB RAM, while in Windows Taks manager, the Firefox32 process is reported as already taking up e.g. 1.8-2.0GB of RAM, and around 1500MB RAM in FF can equal to 2.2-2.4GB in Task Manager (meaning it's pretty close to FF crashing). And the "Free memory" buttons in about:memory seem to have no effect on the allocated memory, reported in Task manager (even though they do have some minor effect on used memory reported by FF itself there).
I don't really expect much help, I think I've already tried pretty much everything there was to try and for the time being it seems to me using Pale Moon is my only option right now, as in it the memory issues are at least somehow manageable and not as annoying as in classic FF, but I still thought I might post this here, if perhaps only for someone to take notice.

Actually just prior to this update, i click on wisn http://www.wisn.com/weather and it will not give error message but doesn't play the weather update morning video. I have used it forever, but suddenly nothing, no message. I tried it in safe mode, I tried it turning off adblockerplus, I tried to figure out if anything was blocking or stopping, my java is enabled, and yet, nothing. please help me discern what steps to do. i also cleared cache/history. it doesn't work in safe mode etc... so its not one of my add ons. I hadn't put any new ones on in long while, anyhow, i really really like to watch morning short video of weather instead of turning on tv, but now I can't . I would love to have some problem solving steps if anyone can provide them. I tried to "automatically add" troubleshooting information at the bottom of this page to submit it, but it takes me to "not found" so is that my computer or your website issue?

Latest version of Fx being used on Win 10, version 1803. Browser has started crashing every few minutes. Crashes even in Safe Mode. Have not had this issue until recently. NOT a Win 10 problem as all other browsers work fine for as long as I have them open. Currently using the Fx Developer Edition which is NOT crashing at all.
Not clicking the Share Data button as this is the Developer Edition.
Any ideas or solutions that are viable?

I have an issue thats been plaguing me so far for a month in Firefox; after Firefox has been in use for quite awhile (open for many days with hundreds of pages throughout those days being opened and closed) it never releases the RAM it has used, ive seen it go from being initially around 400MB at start in the first 30 minutes of being opened then after an hour it goes to around 600MB-900MB, that number is somewhat normal for me i guess (in the days of using Firefox 4 id get that usage alot on my old netbook) and then it goes to the point of insanity at random and uses a whole 2GB and once its done that its almost unusably slow and at times must be killed with the system's Task Manager.
This isnt normal. Especially because this happens when i have nothing but Firefox's homepage opened and everything else closed. Its as if all the content on the pages ive visited gets hoarded by Firefox over time and it never gets released, its almost as if Firefox is like how Windows 98 was if you kept it running for days without shutting it down.
Ive done practically everything to try and remedy this as was suggested by the kind helpful people in the linked thread.
- Ive disabled all addons i dont need
- Ive gotten rid of addons i dont need
- Ive started a completely new Firefox profile and in it use nothing but the addons i need for my day to day browsing (so nothing else beyond what i need is enabled or in Firefox in the first place)
- Ive updated flash player and most of the other plugins firefox lists
- Ive updated all of my computer's drivers and updates from Windows Update
- Ive cleared the cache and cookies and persistent data repeatedly to try and empty Firefox's used RAM
- Ive used about:memory's "reduce memory usage" option to clear out Firefox's RAM but it did nothing, if anything at times it made it go up a few megabytes or two
- As suggested i disabled 3 "jetpack" addons that i needed because they supposedly were the cause of this
- Ive enabled addons one by one to see which is the problematic one, in each time that i did that when i found the culprit and disabled the addon that i thought was the one at fault the problem would only return in a matter of time making all that effort go down the drain
- Did a crapton of virus scans
- Ive read most of Firefox's help articles on fixing it, ive done it all
- A portable install of Firefox runs just perfect, and even a fresh new profile without a single addon is perfect, its when i need addons the problems arise.
- I have run memtest, memtest86, and even the memtest that comes with Windows, all show nothing is wrong with my machine
Ever since i created a new profile my previous problem of Firefox's context menu being as slow as molasses is gone, but the rest lingers on still (albeit less i admit).
So far Im left with two seemingly related problems in forefox, in short: Firefox's RAM usage at random stays very high even if there is nothing but one tab open, heck there could only be the homepage of Firefox open and itd still do that even if i leave it like that for hours without touching it. Heres an example from earlier today https://app.box.com/s/sc7xpmsjnmf18q3rx12t
And heres after i used about:memory's reduce memory usage command https://app.box.com/s/whbay8b4l2z89grdphzd
And if Firefox is not doing that, then i get the other problem of the CPU usage having a spike every so often that freezes up Firefox for a while, when it does that Window's Task Manager lists Firefox as using around 10% CPU usage, which is alot considering ive never seen Firefox use more than 5% at worst before. It even at times simply stays like that while its idle using that CPU figure. I dont have a screenshot at the moment of Firefox at it since its not doing it but heres a screenshot of another process doing it http://vvcap.net/db/aSXmdVEsoZ-9tQj4TnH6.htp
At this point i dont know what to do anymore to be honest, i love Firefox and its addons, its what makes it unique, without them i just cant browse, i could just as well use IE (ew). Part of the reason i got a beefy computer was so that i could use Firefox instead of Opera without having to worry about its infamous memory usage (at the time i recall it being a memory hog it was in the days of Firefox 4 -14, after i used Firefox 21 things had dramatically improved since) Ive gone down to using nothing but what i ONLY need for daily browsing in the new profile and kept all other kinds of use of Firefox's addons strictly to usage inside a virtual machine (VMWare to be preice). But still the problem lingers on. Im sorry that this is long, but i just want to be detailed as possible so that this can be solved
Finally, my specs; as i have no idea if the attached troubleshooting contains it or not.
Intel Core i7 2630QM @ 2.00GHz (with Turbo Boost 2.9GHz) Sandy Bridge 32nm Technology 8.00 GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 665MHz Radeon HD 6770M (HP) (theres integrated graphics too i guess) 112GB ATA KINGSTON SH103S3 SCSI Disk Device (the SSD i have Firefox installed on)

On the Add-ons Manager page/Plugins entry for Shockwave Flash appears the line "Shockwave Flash is known to be vulnerable and should be updated." This is followed by a link reading "Update Now". When I click this link, Firefox thinks for a while and then brings up a page that says (it's quite long, so this is a summary) Shockwave Flash versions have been disabled, so this page appears when you click on any of its links.
Since "Update Now" doesn't work, please send me an executable file that will fix this. Firefox says it is version 30.0.
