For the last several days I have woken up to see firefox has installed itself onto my PC in german with no UAC notifications, no history of where it is coming from(from what I could find). Each time I have seen it, I have uninstalled it and searched through the computer to find any related files or folders left behind to remove but it still comes back. I saw an answered question of a similar problem but it did not solve my issue. I have run several scans with my antivirus and anti malware but none of them have come up with any results before or after the removal of the program. There has been no changes to any of my system or security settings I can find, no new downloads or updates since before, during or after this has begun.

I am hoping to get some help in solving this so that it does not appear unwanted again.

Hi guys!

I'm a college student and my university uses Blackboard as a way to access our courses. Unfortunately, my Firefox has been breaking and not loading all of my courses. My university tech support is no help and they told me to contact Blackboard and Blackboard told me to use Google Chrome. I already installed Chrome so I can use it temporarily to do my coursework but I really don't want to use it permanently, I have my computer set up exactly how I like it and I prefer to use Firefox.

I think the problem started around when the September 22nd update for Firefox was automatically installed. Some things I've tried to fix the issue are: 1. Fresh install of Windows using the Razer Blade's recovery to factory default; 2. Update Windows to latest version (except the 2004 feature update, it causes my laptop to black screen on bootup); and 3. Fresh install of Firefox and changing my privacy settings to standard rather than the strict settings I usually use.

I didn't want to install an older version of Firefox because of all the warnings on the webpage, but I'm really not sure what else I can do. Has anyone else had this happen? Any fixes?

Over the past few days, when I enter some web addresses on my address line I am taken to websites that start with "WW#" where # is some number. The highest I have seen is WW17. These are websites that have nothing to do with my search.

I have Bitdefender and Malwarebytes installed on my computer, along with AdBlock and CookieAutoDelete and everything scans clean.

Is there some setting in Firefox that is causing this or a setting I missed?

I am using Firefox 81.0.

Specifically, I am trying to "Enable earning" on the Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards shopping site -- https://rapidrewardsshopping.southwest.com/. I have uninstalled all ad blockers and trackers (AdBlocker Plus, Ghostery, Duck Duck Go, etc.) and turned off Firefox Enhanced Tracking Protection for the site. And still I get this warning at the top of the page:

"AdBlock, uBlock, AdBlockPlus or another ad blocker or Firefox Tracking Protection may be preventing you from earning points on your shopping. "

Does anyone know what is going on?

I am running Kaspersky Total Security. Could that be the culprit? What troubleshooting can I do to find the root cause of the Southwest site detecting an "ad blocker of Firefox Tracking Protection"?

I am a home user with win 7 OS. In the DNS over HTTPS FAQ it says that

In addition, Firefox will check for certain functions that might be affected if DoH is enabled, including:

   Are parental controls enabled?
Is the default DNS server filtering potentially malicious content?
Is the device managed by an organization that might have a special DNS configuration?

If any of these tests determine that DoH might interfere with the function, DoH will not be enabled. These tests will run every time the device connects to a different network.

Is there any way for me to find out if DOH is enabled or disabled by Firefox?

Next I expand "other bookmarks" then "choose" See 2nd screen capture

When I click on "choose" see what happens in the 3rd screen capture.

I can choose the sub folder to save the bookmark to. BUT I now CAN'T scroll down the screen to hit the save button. Because the bookmark window doesn't have a scroll bar or a way to make the bookmark window smaller. This is frustrating. Firefox is having other issues not connected with this issue. But the overall picture is getting me to the point of dumping Firefox and going to Google Chrome.

YouTube login is completely broken in FireFox only. I am logged in to my google account and that seems to work fine. Youtube however is messed up. When I visit the page directly it shows my account picture in the top right (see image 2) and it suggests videos correctly and even continue watching looks right. However, I can not comment, post videos, view history, or even reload the page(f5). Doing so brings up the "sign in" button. clicking the button and entering my google username and password gives the error (image 1).

Things I've done: 1) cleared all cache, and saved logins, and data. 2) "refreshed firefox" 3) uninstalled firefox, deleted %appdata%\mozilla\firefox\profiles\, rebooted and re-installed firefox.

I have a gut feeling this is something wrong that keeps being re-introduced with sync. Although youtube works fine on my other PC and my mobile devices. so I'm not sure what.

Is there a full uninstall? (including registry and left over files)

Youtube works fine in chrome and Edge so I'm sure it'd firefox and not any other network problem.
