My Firebox browser had all of it's menu bars, address bars, and toolbars closed (to make room for a web screen on a Netbook). I am now left with the Tab area... and the title bar... but *nothing* else.

While in this state, I can't find any area of the interface where I can right click to "recheck" any of my bars... menu, address, or toolbars.

Is there a Windows registry setting that could get me started? Or perhaps a key click combination to enable any of those functions?

Right now I'm stuck with no ability to navigate to another site, or do anything other than open more tabs.  :-)

Help! Thank you!

My kids were messing with my computer and must have pushed something and everything disappeared. I need to know how to put an address bar (back button, refresh, ect) back up into the top of my window. Part of the problem is that my computer screen is cracked and I can't see anything in my menu easily. A command that would restore the address bar would help. Thanks.

I am a senior citizen with little computer knowledge. I cannot cope with changes to my home page because I do not have the knowledge/skills to undo the changes your program has installed. AT&T is my Internet Service Provider. Firefox is my browser. Right? When I installed the newer version of Firefox it usurped my AT&T Yahoo Home Page and Task Bar. I want my old home page and task bar back. I used system recovery to go back a couple hrs. prior to when the new Fire Fox was installed and lost Firefox & At&T. Was in a great state of frustration when I couldn't get system recovery up after going to control panel. System recovery finally popped up again and I went forward to after installation of new Fire Fox and have system up again. I am unable to read up on new Fire Fox program now. All I want is my old AT&T Yahoo Home Page back with their Task Bar. I can learn new Fire Fox as time permits. For a non-profit organization I find Fire Fox quite aggressive. That is good when mobilizing us to write or call Congress but not to take over my Home Page. Will have to admit new Fire Fox sure is faster. I do want to commend you for taking a stand against what Congress is trying to do and also for your non-intrusive, not obnoxious way of asking for donations. You help inform us and let us know of your need and anyone that is not a free loader with a conscience, I think, would make a donation according to what one can afford. Keep up the good work and the good fight..........please do help me restore my home page back to AT&T with the old task bar. I appreciate all the help you can give me. Please excuse this long note. Blessings, Helen Added Note: AT&T home page returned. Still need Tool Bar. Troubleshooting information from Firefox help for Tool Bar below. Also info to restore Refresh and Home icon below.

I work in IT for a medium-sized organization (enterprise). I need a way of exporting and exporting bookmarks for all of my users, and I need to to it in a way that is automated or CLI (babysitting 100+ laptops and importing in person is not an option). We're transferring users to new laptops in three weeks, but we will need this functionality to exist afterwards too (so we can build something to automate bookmark backups and restorations with our internal network). We do use Zenworks at work, but we'll have other scripting options too.

Any link I've found on command-line options for running Firefox with other tools doesn't allow me to quite do what I need to (i.e. I have a way of exporting to an html, but not importing it; -migration switch gives me a GUI). Any resources I've found on Firefox's command line arguments are inconsistent and not clear on what options work with what version. As such, I don't even know if options exist that would actually help.

Due to security issues, running a plugin or storing bookmarks off-site are not options.

I found the existence of profiles.ini and was able to write a script (windows cmd bat - God help me) to pull out what directory gets created for the profile, and then copy files to the user's network drive. I also wrote one to copy one from the user's network drive to their new profile. The problem I'm encountering at this point is that firefox doesn't use the newest bookmark-<date>.json file that gets slapped in the directory. Something else must be referencing what bookmark filename to use. Hoping it's something in the registry or in a plain text file, not a sqllite db, otherwise I'm kind of hosed.

I guess my question is this... is there not a simpler way of doing this, or a (firefox) command line option to do what I need?

In lieu of that, anyone have an idea of how I can tell firefox to use a specific bookmark file to start off with, or the most recent one in the profile directory? Again, it needs to be hands-off. We're not talking about a solution for one person.

And thirdly, if there is no answer to my first question, my question to Firefox developers is "why is this basic feature omitted"? In my opinion, it's obvious and serious enough I would be willing to call it a bug. Many others are having the same problem. (If I don't get a workable solution to the first two questions, I'll follow up with this one in a more appropriate forum or email...)
