I have attempted to follow published instructions on how to manage extensions but the steps described are completely wrong. When I click the extensions icon, it opens the add-ons tab (does not present a list of extensions). There is no "gear" next to any of my extensions; just the on/off button and the .... button.
How can I force an extension to show on the toolbar?

I have run into an annoyance where I am trying to click on a link in my email to open a new page. Clicking on the link makes a bar show up telling me that Firefox has prevented a popup from being opened (see attached image). I am given the option of managing my preferences / Firefox settings, where I can either go through multiple steps to permanently allow all pop-ups from that website until I restore my original settings, or uncheck a box to permanently allow all pop-ups from all sites until I check that box again. This is annoying because I have no interest in either allowing or disallowing all pop-ups from all websites, or all pop-ups from this specific website, every time I want to open a single pop-up from a specific site. I would rather that the warning bar which tells me that Firefox has blocked a pop-up also display a button allowing me to allow ONLY THIS SPECIFIC POP-UP IN THIS SPECIFIC CASE.
Is this a setting that exists in Firefox? Alternatively, is there a version of Firefox which does have a setting which would allow this? Or is this simply not a functionality that exists for this browser?

I'm swapping to firefox from chrome. In the chrome new tab, I can choose to set the wallpaper to an image. Is there a way to do this in firefox?
I want to change the font and size of the toolbar and menu because when I open it up the words are quite small and kinda messy for my eyes.

I installed Firefox-ESR on my Raspberry PI and noticed that I cannot play Udemy videos. After some research I found that the Widevine plugin is missing and the OpenH264 Video Codec is also not installed. Following the instructions from similar issues didn't solve the problem. I ticked off and on the "Play DRM-controlled content" button but this only brings the widevine plugin for a moment and after that it disappears. In the network tab I see no activity when click on this button, i.e. Firefox does not send requests.
Additionally the OpenH264 Video Codec is not installed and never installs.
Any ideas how to solve this?

With a recent update of Firefox Developer Edition to version 117.0b9 i keep getting extremely annoying popups on all sites, asking me if I want to translate stuff.
I don't want to store unnecessary settings in my browser, related to exceptions to websites/languages that I want vs. does not want to translate.
I want to completely disable translations, globally. Forever. Two questions:
- Why there is no "disable translations globally" checkbox in the newly added popup? - Is there an about:config hack to do disable translations globally, for all languages, for all websites, and forever?
thanks in advance

Hello folks,
I am writing to you because I am having a problem with the microphone in Firefox on Windows 11. The microphone works on all other apps on my computer, but it does not work in Firefox.
I have tried the following troubleshooting steps:
I checked if Firefox has permission to use my microphone. I restarted Firefox. I updated Firefox to the latest version. I disabled any extensions that I have installed in Firefox. I tried using a different microphone. I checked my computer's sound settings and volume mixer. I ran a virus scan on my computer. I reset Firefox to its default settings. I reinstalled Firefox. Tried downloading Firefox from Microsoft Store. Went through every article on the internet but none of the solutions worked in my case. After trying all of these steps, the microphone still does not work in Firefox.
I would appreciate it if you could help me troubleshoot this issue. My audio driver version is the latest that the manufacturer(Lenovo) could offer for my machine which is ideapad Creator 5-15IMH05 Laptop - Type 82D4, Windows update also does not offer any newer version than the one i am currently using.
Thank you for your time.

When I open Firefox settings I can set; Firefox Home (Default), Custom URLs..., or Blank Page. I altered the Firefox Home to show a custom image per [[How to add image to my firefox home page / newtab page|https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1288490]] . Now I'd like to show the Firefox Home page every time I open Firefox or open a new blank tab.
When I read the article [[How do I set a different Home page and Home button|https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1341696]] the options in "about:config > browser.startup.page" are limited to "0-blank; 1-home page; 2-last visited page; 3-restore previous session", but there is no Firefox Home page in this option.
So, it seems I cannot have Firefox open to my custom Firefox Home page (and NewTab) image and have the home button open to my corporate web site. Is there another option that I can accomplish this?

hello I cannot turn off Firefox Fullpage Translation, which is really annoying. When I browse I get asked for every new page in which language I want to translate and I don't want to. We have released a browser add-on that works with apps using NativeMessaging, but it stopped working after updating Firefox to v114 on Windows 10 (64bit). We have confirmed that it works up to v113.0.1. The browser add-on manifest is v2. In the Mac version using the same browser add-on, the application can be linked even after updating to v114. The behavior of the bug on Windows is similar to the behavior when NativeMessagingHosts is not written in the registry. Is there any information about solutions to problems or causes?
Expected results: Launch app via NativeMessaging from browser addon

I set my browser to use English instead of my local language and I expect sites to use English by default. Now for some reason Gmail showed me a "do you want to leave this page" browser dialogue in language other than English.
Turns out, there's a new(?) option to set alternative interface languages, and I suppose websites can now choose which one to use?
Wow, just noticed, even tooltips on this website aren't in English anymore. This is extremely annoying.
I'd love to remove the alternate language from that list and leave Firefox interface exclusively in English. There is no option to remove the second language, only to move priority (see screenshot).
Searching through about:config with "language" didn't help. The closest relevant result was for the dictionaries. I do not have problems with dictionaries; "alternate" did not bring any relevant results either.

Firefox 114.0, Windows 11 Home Version 10.0.22621 Build 22621 , 1Password-4.6.2.626 extension
Today, for reasons unknown, my 1Password extension, (an old and non-updatable version that I've used for many, many years), is non-responsive. The icon still resides in the Tool Bar, Windows ToolTips "sees" it as "1Password", but clicking on the icon has no effect. The extension is shown as Enabled in Firefox's Manage Your Extensions page.
I think I've tried all the "usual" things here: rebooted the computer, uninstalled and re-installed the extension and rebooting, checked the setting in 1Password itself to see that it's associated with "Mozilla Firefox 114.0", (the program still opens fine outside the browser).
This seems to be related to Firefox 114.0. On my other computer with the same Windows 11 version but using Firefox 113.0.1 had no problem with 1Password, but as soon as Firefox updated to 114.0 the same problem with 1Password appeared.
Anything that I might be able to do to get 1Password working?

I've tried the F9 Keyboard Shortcut, I've tried other Reader Add-Ons, this function simply doesn't work with Outlook. Either when in the Inbox, or with an opened Email. Anyone else encounter this?
Anyone know of a solution to making this work?
On a VERY side note: Here is my 1st initial text, when I believed the problem was about Firefox Add-Ons (I now have discovered it's not about the Add-Ons, it's the about the Reader View function).

When double-clicking on an Email, on the Outlook web site (https://outlook.office.com/mail/), the Email opens in a new window. When the new Window is opened, doesn't work.
When I click on Firefox's "Enhanced Tracking Protection" Icon and disable it, then the Extensions work. What's even weirder, is the behavior is the same for the REVERSE (if the Enhanced Protection is Disabled, the Keyboard Shortcut doesn't work until I "ENABLE" the Enhanced Protection).
Is there a setting in about:config that can return the functionality of Add-Ons (Extensions)?
On a side note, I found a setting to force the New Emails to Open in a new Tab instead of a new Window. The same bevaior is replicated, No improvement has been shown on that front. browser.link.open_newwindow.restriction = 0 >>
