Hi,

I would like to create a pop-up blocker exception for a local temporary file like: file:///C:/Users/username/AppData/Local/Temp/DisplayURLs3227552811823012098.html

My firewall management tool generates a local report file, automatically opened by Firefox, but I can't add an exception like: "file:///C:" or "file:///C:/Users/username/AppData/Local/Temp/*"; it just does not work.

Thanks, Tom

The search engines I've added do not appear in the list after clicking the green + sign in the search box and they do not appear in the list in the options either. I used the "add more search engines" found in the bottom of the search engines list to find the missing engines and add them again, but when I find the engine I want to add there is only the "remove" button. So this tells me the missing engines in the list are still there but not accessible. I tried removing the added search engine and then adding it again but this did not make them appear in the search engine list. Everything was working fine until getting the last update before Firefox 89. Is there a way to fix this???

This is a confession of a long-time user who has never dug deeper into the extension’s settings. Version 1.32.0 is currently installed.

When opening Gmail in the past I’d noticed no more than 1 or 2 displayed in the extensions toolbar for that site. . This of course changed over time, especially if certain email messages were opened where I’d allowed images to be displayed. Lately though, without even having selected/opened any messages, that number is now 20. What could be the cause or reason for this increase?

Sometimes there's a delay in a website being recognized and log in info filled in, sometimes its never recognized like just now with accounts.firefox.com yet its in my Passwords. URL was checked and was identical in both. You'd think Firefox would recognize firefox.com!

Sometimes it fills in the password after I have entered the username. This is for sites like Firefox.com that don't have the username and password on one page but sometimes its happened when both are on the same page. But shouldn't it recognize the username or does it have to have both on the page? Is there any way of making these types of pages work properly? This is not high security. As if I could care less what people read or know what I'm posting in a forum like this on the operation of a browser.

My google searching is leaving me at a loss here. I did something and the taskbar at the bottom of the web browser is now covered by the browser. Not the bar at the top, the bar at the bottom that has whatever other programs you're running listed in multiple tabs. Every single damn search is leading to how to mess with the task/toolbar at the top of the freakin page. I can make it reappear if I press the windows button or open another program, but while in Firefox it's not visible. The top taskbar, bookmarks, and all are still there so it's not in full page mode. I know the fix is probably ctrl and some other button somewhere but what?

Firefox 89 introduced super-extra-duper fatty bold fonts. Fatter than the Futura bold fonts. I want to get rid of this uglyfaced font that is hardly readable on non-retina screens.

Tried to lower the level of [ layout.css.font-visibility.level ] from default 3 to 1 ... doesn't do anything.

Do the Mozillians really believe that every FF user has a Retina type screen before their eyes ? With the 20/20 vision of Superman ? What were the devs thinking ???

Hello,

I keep getting Microsoft Windows Message telling me Firefox is running unnecessarily in the background. this is causing the battery to drain faster than normal. I kill it in the task manager but, it restarts a few seconds later.

Windows shows Firefox starts running in the background when windows starts. its running 89% in the background, my use is only 10% there is another 1% of unknown use. This background use of Firefox is also using 58% of the CPU causing other apps and programs, games I'm running to lag hang or stop.

I have uninstalled Firefox and used a cleaner to remove all leftover files, folders and registry keys then, rebooted, ran the cleaner again then, rebooted again then, reinstalled Firefox using a fresh install file. It's still running in the background.

I need to know how to stop Firefox from starting up and running in the background.

I even tried disabling Firefox updater and Firefox maintenance in the boot menu, that didn't stop Firefox from running in the background; doing that did lower the CPU use by Firefox 10%

Thank You

Since Firefox is minimized to half the screen I can't access the addons I need b/c this stupid thing won't stay on the top option. It's VERY annoying. I've already sent an email to support months ago and NO REPLY.

Hello,

The gestures defined by browser.gesture.swipe.* do not work on Firefox Linux unless the ALT key is held down. I only discovered it that worked at all with ALT by accident while searching about this issue...

Is there a way to get gestures to work WITHOUT requiring the use of the keyboard (which would seem to defeat the purpose of having touchpad gestures)?

Thanks.

It used to be the case that, while scrolling, after taking my fingers away from the mousepad, that the pages I am viewing in Firefox would continue to move down, slowly coming to a halt. Now, instead, it comes to a sudden halt the moment I stop active scrolling, which honestly makes scrolling down long pages take a lot longer and I really just don't like how it feels. This only recently started happening, does anyone know how to make scrolling go back to the old way where it would keep moving in the direction you sent it in for a short while following?

I don't see an option to restore previous session any more.

did some googling and found a reference to checking a box in option

it said that then it would be automatic.

so I check that and I'm waiting to see what's going to happen in future: it didn't make my previous session come back this time.

so the question is: Is this right? We must check that option and that's it? No way to go back to the old version method?

This is plea for an immediate fix from anyone, anywhere that can do so.

FF update just done today June 14th, 2021 as effectively cut off any user with less than perfect depth, color, or acuity of vision. Whether using natural or lightbulbs or fireflies.

It also threw out most of the screen/toolbar settings!

This "upgrade" is going to drive me away from FF asap because neither of us can no longer read the screen!!!

Its the lack of contrast. It's the new, much smaller, default font size. And lack of demarcation to the tabs as they align with one another side by side. Like a snow-blind whiteout.

It also threw out most of the toolbar itself and altered many of the FF "setting" selections that were previously our defaults or elections.

These are basic attributes which the "upgrade" to FF has just unilaterally changed.

Now, as the user I have to 1) seek out and 2) comprehend more complex instructions like "about: config" and jockey between that and M'soft windows settings??? And then hope I get it right????

FYI I did try via another user-help response. Some relief there with font size, but it looks like a fun house mirror w/ weird size toolbar and onscreen font size. And it took me an hour and alot of holding my breath to see if I got it jiggered okay.

Or seek out and try out any number of color font/screen themes which might work well??-- if I were my grandkids gaming all night under the bedcovers.

Folks have graciously put in the time, effort and creativity to make various pretty and graphically appealing themes. Scrolled through pages and pages and have loaded over a dozen try-outs, but unusable/impractical.

I am not a expert user, dont want to become one, and if FF goes the way of the buffalo and the "vcr" programming (haha!) then so be it.

However, you have always had a great product, and we want you to continue to be successful!!

Why oh why is it fouled up so badly?? Please don't make me switch to gawd-awful Edge or other browser after being a loyal FF user for years!

I had to reconfigure the entire toolbar setup this afternoon so less- computer-capable, and more importantly less visually-able spouse could use his few desired websites. Wasted valuable hours on unnecessary and exhausting task.

Am going to attempt the revert to older version of FF as stated in another thread just so I can get back to work and keep my visually and computer challenged spouse happy!

Rarely write in to help sheets, forums or social sites, but this absolutely must be addressed!

FF staff PLEASE fix or at least make the former version more obviously, and readily available!!

Sincerely, loyal users

I would like to get an actual answer to an archived question that I didn't find very useful. This is the one: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1301997 . I have also attached an image of a reply to this question that I relate to a lot, but unfortunately it didn't get an answer. So, I would like to ask the same question as this guy asked: For privacy reasons, I would like to hide the notification bar that pops-up in front of all windows, showing the video's title and thumbnail, but not the function for Control Media Playback. Is it possible?

If you couldn't understand the question, I'll explain again. So I attached another image (the second one) for demonstration. This shows this pop-up that is hard to name, so I'll call it a pop-up;

I would like to hide the video title and thumbnail from this pop-up just for privacy reasons. I don't think this is currently possible because the only configuration I could find was "media.hardwaremediakeys.enabled", but if I disable it it would remove the function completely.
