'Block Site' merely blocks access to a list of sites, but does not stop them appearing. is there a way to stop websites which use <gob.mx> in the address, which attempt to re-direct to 'mirror' sites that try to steal personal info and generate 'Illegal re-direct' warnings from anti-virus programs from appearing in firefox searches, automatically, rather than having to enter <XXXXXXX, -gob.mx> each time I search ?

So on my macbook when I enable fullscreen the anmation is super weird. first it stretches the video to the top and then just expands to the whole screen, when I go out of fullscreen is stretches to the bottom and then goes out off fullscreen. for example on safari it just expands the video until it takes up the whole screen. I have gone in about:config and disabled the fullscreen animation but that did nothing.

ALT-SHIFT-LEFT has been 'select word backwards' for years, at least on macs. And so it was on FF too. Now they suddenly decided to re-map it to 'select left tab'. There was already a key for that - CMD-ALT-LEFT. Which also works for the right, whereas ALT-SHIFT-RIGHT does nothin

Hi, I've just switched to Firefox and I've been customising settings to make it work the way I like.

I prefer having my browser open a blank page whenever I open a new tab or a new window. I've noticed that Firefox opens my homepage when I open a new window, and unfortunately I'm not able to set that to a blank page on my work computer because my employer controls what I have set as my homepage.

Is there any way I can configure Firefox to open my new tab page, or a blank page, when I open a new window, instead of opening my homepage?

There seems to be a new function that opens a quick search window when I press the apostrophe key. This function is active on many websites, and I am using Firefox 125.0.3 on a Macbook Air.

This new function makes it very difficult for me to practice touch typing in Firefox, and I would like to turn this function of.

I tried redownloading Firefox after I saw that i was unable to download any extenstions/add-ons. Anytime i try to download something from the firefox browser, the download fails or gets cancelled. I never changed any settings, how can i fix this?bold text

I'm using the Firefox Multi-Account Containers extension and it's great. I have a number of containers manually created and use them according to my personal preference. No sites are associated with containers via settings, it's always manual.

Among those containers there's one I use for all things Google (Gmail etc). Which was great, as it allowed me to use both my personal Google account and G-Suite integrated with the workplace's SSO by simply using a default container for work stuff.

I updated Firefox to version 127.0.1, after which I discovered that clicking on Google Docs links in external applications now opens a tab in that custom container I created for my personal use. Which is clearly inconvenient, as most Google Docs links I open are work-related, so my personal account has nothing to do with them. Opening same links from within Firefox, e.g. by clicking on a bookmark, still opens a default container tab.

As I mentioned, there are no explicit association between Google links and that container, the "Limit to designated sites" option is switched off.

Is there anything I can do to revert back to the old behaviour, which is opening every external link in a default container?

I like Ctrl+Shift+B to open the Library (Manage Bookmarks/Show All Bookmarks). For maybe two years I was using this, but it stopped working in 117:

Dorando keyconfig isn't current. Shortkeys won't even install and probably won't do what I want anyway. AutoHotkey will do it, but I'd rather not use it for this.

Does anyone know how I can get a config.js to open the Library when I hit Ctrl+Shift+B?

New addons on Firefox become blank on restarting the browser.

They return when I manually disable and enable them once.

How to fix this? Doesn't happen to older addons.

When I download an image in Firefox and open it from the downloads folder it will always open in Pixelmator not Pixelmator Pro.

If I double click on an image file elsewhere they correctly open in Pro, but in Finder, the icons are for Pixelmator not Pixelmator Pro. This can be hidden if I turn on finder icon previews, but selecting Get Info always has the Pixelmator icon not the Pixelmator Pro one.

Im not sure if this is a macOS problem, a firefox issue or a Pixelmator bug but it seems to be related to the way the files are registered.

Things I have tried:

Changing file associations in firefox. Rebooting Changing the open-with properties in finder: Open all with Pixelmator Pro Reset the Local & User domains with lsregister lsregister -kill -r -domain local -domain user -domain system -v

Picture in Picture is an awesome feature and i love that Firefox comes with it by default.

However I do wish for one thing. So we can lock and "click through" the picture in picture, instead of our mice being able to click it by mistake when doing other things (such as grinding on an MMO or something.)

Is there any way to get these options in the near future? It'd be great to play some games when watching a video during slow times! Thank you!

I found my old password Firefox recovery key after I already changed my password and got a new recovery key. Can I use my old recovery key to get back all the things (eg bookmarks) that may have gone missing with the switch to a new password?

PLEASE READ THOROUGHLY - Thru Firefox, I use Tineye to find related photos - I use it all the time, it's been great - I always use a VPN and have never had problems until now (as of yesterday). Now it won't search, a verify you're human window comes up, and I have to keep clicking squares, which I do - but then it says to allow cookies and start over. Well I don't want to allow cookies (Firefox-Mozilla kinda encourages using their tools to block cookies, which I much prefer), and I CANT FIND WHERE TO ALLOW (not yelling its just that I said this before and it wasn't noticed) cookies even if I did (I went to Firefox preferences all I could find was under privacy & security cross-site cookies but that did nothing) and I don't want to disable my VPN. Maybe I should mention that I just added or started a Mozilla account, as I have had immense trouble with my aol emails, and am trying to move everything over to a gmail account. My sign in to Firefox was the aol email, and I had to try (I thought I did it) add another account, which I think I did successfully. So it was right after that, that all this started. Help please! I did get the following reply, saying to allow cookies (BUT I DON"T KNOW HOW OR WHERE TO DO IT) and something about a new browser profile and to stay out of my sync account, and I APOLOGIZE, but I have no clue what all that means. What is a broweser profile, what is a sync account and how do I stay out of it? I guess well I know i'm not too smart about this kinda stuff, so I apologize but I think I need detailed step by step what to do to fix this. I know thats a lot of typing, sorry.

I accidentally pressed a lot of keys on my keyboard and for some reason the default colors of Firefox have changed. I found out that by using Ctrl+Alt+D that I can switch the colors back to normal or to the colors that now appear automatically, but this only works for one tab. If I open a new tab, it shows the weird colors (see images below). I tried looking up specific shortcuts for Firefox considering the shortcut mentioned before (Ctrl+Alt+D) only works on Firefox. But I can't find any shortcut tied to that combination. I'm unsure what to do and how to fix this.

I would appreciate it if someone could tell me how to fix this.

Is there a way to replace the navigation icons on the context menu with their text-only counterparts?

I've tried the following code segments which provide less-than-optimal results.

This one which worked in FF 88, now removes the icons, but leaves 4 blank buttons in a row with no text...

This one completely removes the options, but I would like to keep them, and replace them with their text counterparts

Please see attached images for the before and after of what I'm trying to achieve.

Might be nice to have the blank icon column to the left of these 4 items so they all line up with the items below, but I can live without that if it's not possible.

When I try to detach a tab, so that it's a new window, by dragging the tab downward so it isn't on the tab bar. After I let go a new window is created for that tab that I dragged, however it also maximizes the window, which disorients my work flow. Is there any way I can detach a tab into a new window and not have it maximized automatically?
