Hi,

When I go to Facebook on Mozilla and try to use the messenger app to run a video call (using microsoft surface running windows 10), the default camera is my rear facing camera. There is no toggle i can see to switch it to the front camera. I cannot do so in window settings and have spoken with Microsoft support which tells me to call mozilla support. I cannot do it in any of the facebook settings either. I cannot do it with camera settings in mozilla either. I can use the front camera successfully from chrome! I can from Edge! I can from Zoom. I like mozilla and want to keep using it but if I can't resolve this I will likely just switch to chrome permanently. Please let me know how to select the default camera in mozilla. Thank you.

I am using "browser.link.open_newwindow.restriction" to force links that normally open in new windows, to instead open in new tabs. It all works fine, except when I click those links, Firefox switches to the new tabs immediately when I click them. I would like the tabs to open in new tabs but I do not want Firefox to immediately switch to them.

Please note that I have unchecked "When you open a link in a new tab, switch to it immediately". Meaning, Firefox correctly does not switch to new tabs for normal links. However, it is switching to the new tabs for links that would normally open in new windows.

I want to do not see this small button on each tab in Firefox. Is it possible without addons? I remember that in the past there was an option in about:config for that purpose but I failed to find it now and do not remember how it is called. I don't need this close-button because I managed to close my tabs using various other ways: by Escape, by double left mouse click to a tab, by double right click on web page (everything using AutoHotkey).

I cannot get Firefox to stop using dark mode. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, checking my Mac's settings (dark mode is not enabled), and Firefox still shows dark mode in webpages (like Google News). It makes it really hard to read the page without reading glasses.

Is there a way to turn this off? It is really irritating.

I'm running Ubuntu 20.10 with GNOME Shell extension Unite which can add the minimize, maximize and close buttons to the top bar and remove the buttons from the title bar of apps. The does not work in Firefox, minimize, maximize & close remain. I'm assuming this is related to Firefox's ability to remove the title bar all together so tabs can be at the top. The Firefox Customize... page allows you to change just about everything else in the UI except these three buttons.

Is there a way to remove Firefox's minimize, maximize and close buttons?

In case it matters I really only care about the Close button (not Close tab) because GNOME Tweaks lets you remove the minimize & maximize buttons from all apps.

Thanks

Searching everywhere and cannot find a solution. Perhaps there is none. Followed suggestions here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1297345 in an attempt to increase width of scroll bar but see that just reproduces the default setting.

So the question stands: how to increase width of scroll bar?

The scroll bar is super thin.

Any suggestions for Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS Firefox 82.0 (64-bit)

Thanks.

1) Because the built in options are ambiguous I want to flush the temporary Cache storage directory myself, but I can't find it. Where is it? 2) Then I want to relocate it, but here are Mozilla's instructions for how to reset it:

==

To set Firefox's cache folder, first type “about:config” (omit quotes throughout) into the program's address bar and then hit “Enter.” Right-click on any of the displayed properties, select “New” and then select “String” to display the New String dialog box. Enter “browser.cache.disk.parent_directory” into the box and then click “OK” to display the New Value dialog box. Enter the full filepath to the folder you wish to use as the cache folder, and then click “OK.”

==

Doesn't work.

So, after finding the current location and flushing it how do I change it?

The option to always open a link in a particular container seems to be linked to the domain; right-click link, Open link in new Container Tab, click the Always open link in this container. This then sets all links to that domain to open in that container.

Often I want to log in to the same domain, but as a different user. So I open them in different containers so as to keep the sessions separate.

It would be useful to specify the container in the bookmark rather, so I can have multiple bookmarks all pointing to the same domain, but each always open in the container I choose for them. I tried various add-ons, but they use the domain-based container feature built into FireFox.

How can I force a bookmark to always open in a set container?
